Touchscreen Problems: Upper Corners - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

I first noticed this happening in a YouTube video about the phone, but figured it was just a fluke. I've now begun to notice that I too have problems when tapping items in the upper corners of the phone.
Many times I'll tap a menu item and nothing happens. Even subsequent taps do not always register a press. I'm using stock everything.
Is anyone else experiencing this with their Pro3?

It Is not a problem, you have to be more accurate when you touch the corners!

Believe me, I've tried everything to see if it's my own fault, but it's not.

It's bug or feature? Any MIUI/CM user can confirm?

Same here, 100% accuracy. Stock 5.8.019S with Google Now launcher

My Le pro 3 also has issues with the upper corners. Le eco is aware of the problem. Hopefully it can fixed in the future. http://forum.le.com/us/index.php?threads/issues-with-touchscreen.3885/

Mine also has the issue, however, only when I use my thumbs for some reason. When I use my fingers I do not have the problem. If you go into developer options, under input, select show touches. With that setting enabled you can see the touches that the phone actually registers and which ones it misses. If the developer options are not visible to you, go to about phone in the settings menu, and tap build number several times until they become enabled.

i also have this problem BUT ive realized that its caused by my screen protector. Try switching to one that doesn't cover the bezel since those that do, tend not to completely cover the middle and corners of the phone due to the phone's curved glass. that should solve the problem.

I'm just using the factory installed screen protector.

Screen protectors are a nightmare on these things.

Not screen protector
This is not a screen protector issue. Guys, don't go ripping yours off, it doesn't help. I tried before. This is a firmware or panel issue. The company already recognizes this as a previous poster linked to it. I also started a thread about this issue weeks ago.

I also notice this issue on stock and CM.

me too

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to order a new screen protector to try to fix this issue, now I"ll wait.

I think you're right. I updated last night and haven't had any upper corner touch issues. Props for LeEco on fixing it so quickly.
Update: It has been 3 days and I haven't had a single upper corner miss touch since the 20s update. I'm really happy that it got fixed.

I noticed the same thing after updating to .20S. At first I thought it might be the factory screen protector but glad it was just a software issue.

Does upgrading ROM solve the screen alignment problem?

Hear that S/N before HT63XXXXXX have screen alignment problems and was wondering if upgrading it to a newer ROM (like the latest TyTN) ROM would solve this problem?
Can't really seem to draw a conclusive result from the threads posted but would appreciate those who faces/are still facing this problem, could provide their thoughts on this.
Hi, I've got a V1605 with a 628 serial number. Changing to the update from the shipped Vodafone rom and 48 hours later I have not had one single screen alignment issue. My scroll wheel stopped working earlier but a soft reset solved that issue.

Very mildly on this on (my third). Mostly did it when using opera. A tap and hold could be anywhere on the screen. It was also bad whilst charging. Now it seems perfect but I will feedback more after a couple of days more use as it does seem to be something that builds up after hard reset.
thanks for you input. i look forward to your continued help on this matter
Yep, I flashed last night and no screen alignment issues at all today. I was able to reproduce the screen alignment problem before the flash too.

Paul here ..
I didn't realise you had any of these problems with your device ....
When did the alignment problems start to affect your device ?
Also ... when I asked you about BT stereo ... I thought you said you were happy ... but following the ROM upgrade you suggested it was 'still' not good.
Are you experiencing problems that you didn't have when you first received the device ?
My biggest issue is the loose stylus .... still being held in by the 'spring' but very little friction anymore ... also sometimes doesn't want to come out unless you rotate in the silo first.
Cheers
Paul.
waveydavey,
which rom version did you update to and do you have a link for it? Did you have to reinstall all your apps?
Does anyone know if HTC has confirmed this problem exists?
Have they determined if its hardware or a software glitch
i just got a Dopod CT9000 with SN HT625XXXXX with the English ROM and so far I have not encountered any screen alignment problem. Some users say the alignment problem is a result that builds up over time so I shall wait and see what happens.
It seems like on my unit the update has fixed it but at the same time hasn't.
Yesterday it lost alignment on the right hand side of the screen. Left was fine but right was 1cm to the left of where it should've been. I realigne the screen and ten minutes later the rigth hand side was 1cm to the right of where it should've been. It might have just got a bit confused but I'll continue to keep an eye on it and report back.
First time since the rom became available as I flashed it as soon as it appeared here.

Phil,
Had this happened after making a lot of calls or anything else that would heat the device up? The hardware aspect of the issue is allegedly that a heating issue causes the screen to become misaligned.

Not really, It was in my pocket while I was shopping when I recieved an email. Checked it and noticed the alignment. Realigned the screen. 10 minutes later and I got another email and it had gone back to the previous alignment.
Heat hasn't affected it in the last few days. An hour and a half on the train surfing using opera full screen every morning and I didn't have any issues even though I could feel it getting hot.
No added software or different use after the initial set up.
I'll keep an eye on it. It could've been "just one of those things" and the fact that it went back to where it had been would back that up. I have had a few problems with the scroll wheel not functioning since the upgrade though. Maybe 2 or 3 times it has just refused to work until a soft reset.
Phil
well so far i have yet ot encounter the problem. everything seems to be ok for me but i have yet to push the device like making long calls or sirfing on it for a long time. will keep on testing and keep you updated.

I've called the HTC support in Italy and they told me to send the TyTN back for a swap.

Ever since the recent update, the touch screen seems less sensitive and slightly out of calibration.
anyone know how to re-calibrate the touch screen?

I would try this..
Go to settings, then language and input, then Samsung keyboard settings, then handwriting, then recognition time. This may or may not solve your problem but it's worth a shot!

My issue as of late is that when I click on small links surrounded by other links on a web page using the stylus, an adjacent link often opens. I am using the hover-dot for the stylus, and both it and the tip of the stylus hit the link that I want, but it actuates another one. The work-around is that I have to double-tap-zoom the screen and tap the link I want, then I can zoom back out.
Anyone else having this problem?
JC
I am also using the zoom feature to open the links. It's a bit annoying, but a workaround...for now
Hey, I still am on the very first version of the note firmware because I don't want to screw up s note.
I get the problem you are describing once in a while, specially if the tablet hasn't been rebooted for days. My solution is a simple reboot and then the responsiveness of the touch is perfect again.
Also to mention is another issue which I get after a few days once in a while, the screen resolution all of a sudden seems messed up. The colors turn out weird and u can see definately more pixels. Maybe the display improving system of the note screen gets turned off some how and i get the pure 1280x800 screen. Luckily a reboot also fixes this. Also both issues happen very very rarely, maybe once a week.

I've found mine doing this too, however it's done it twice in the four days I've had it, it's making me think about exchanging and/or sending it back. Mine is an N8000 International 3G one.

I got a new Note 10.1 about a month ago (July 2013) and I believe it already had the updated version. The touch worked perfectly for about two weeks then - bang - can't touch link at all if it's small, can't get right link if they are close... Sometimes I don't know if I'm trying to touch a link that's "grayed out" or if I'm having a touch problem. I've even had to rub at a link to get it to work. But the keyboard and system buttons seem to work fine???????? How bad do dry hands/fingers affect touch?

LG gt540 touchscreen problem SOLVED

Hello all, I hope this post can help you with the same or similar problem I had.
My LG gt540 started having a problem 2 months ago, the touchscreen got offset by 2 centimetres(1 inch) verticaly down, this was very annoying specially texting and couldnt access the top panel. Ex: to unlock the phone I had to press 1 inch above the green button.
Sometimes(I dont know why) it went back to normal, but about a week since the problem started it just got permanent, I tried rebooting, taking the battery, etc, nothing worked... Even tried to go to the calibration option but the offset was to much so it said out of range...
Then I read something online about the heat caused touchscreen problems, so I was thinking... hardware dont really like heat, and I always carry my phone on my pocket, the body heat could be damaging the touchscreen, lets try cold, it could solve it, long shot but what do I have to lose?
Left my phone in the freezer for 10 minutes, turned on, and it worked! for 1 month now its back to normal!
Hope it helps you, but try first freezing it powerd off, may be safer.
i have got my phone 2,5 years and i havent got any insue with the touch screen
Hi
My phone started doing the exact same thing a week ago...
This is the only thing I haven't tried, lets see if it works for me....
Thanks
I've had screen calibration problems since i started flashing custom roms.
In my case the screen positions are slightly off at the right side of the screen. When I want to type an "p" i have to touch where the "o" is on a german keyboard.
I'm trying your solution right now.

I have problems for the outer 4 sides.
It's worth to try.
Didn't work for me, it was only fine for 5 minutes....
Also didn't work for me.
Besides, after puting it in the freezer the display protection foil now looks a bit strange.

I also have the same problem, press 'o' to get 'p'.
I want to ask you guys who already tried this method. Did it work?

[Q](cm11) phone app freezes, screen becomes unresponsive

Hi all,
Im at a loss here, I dont know how to move forward with this problem so im asking for help lol XD.
I just gave my nexus 4 to my gf ( just got my opo last week). The phone was running cyanogen mod 11 ( some nightly version between m6 and m7).
So when my phone came in the mail, I dropped her sim in my nexus 4 (witch was working perfectly) and after making a phone call with it, she tells me she thinks the phone app is broken or something...
So I have a look at it and this is what its doing now. When I call someone, as soon as you click call the screen goes black. To bring back the screen you need to click twice on the sleep/wake button on the side ( kinda like if you were closing the phone and re-opening it) just for the screen to show again but none of the buttons work. Well none of the phone app buttons work, I can still click back/home/previous app buttons or slide down the top menu just fine. just cant click any of the number keys, hang up, hit speaker phone or anything related to the phone app. So in order to hang up I have to click home and then use the drop down menu and click hang up under the phone notification.
Before droping her sim card in the phone I did a standard wipe/factory reset on the phone just to give her a clean platform. So since that was already done I've tried updating to a stable ( M9 in this case) release, problem is still there, so I tried to wipe dalvik, cache and done a data wipe/factory reset from the CWM recovery and flashed a fresh cm 11 M9 with gapps and I still have the problem.
Im at a loss at where to begin looking for a fix for this situation, I've looked on the xda and cm forums and ran plenty of google searches for this problem but im coming up empty ...
any help would be greatly appreciated,
regards
Chris
Edit: omg screen protector was interfering with the proximity sensor... Is this a common problem with nexus 4 or could this provblem still be related to my hardware/software ?
(I've never used a screen protector before).

If the screen protector isn't applied carefully, it might interfere easily with the sensors. If you want to check, then download a sensor tester from the play store, and use it to see if the sensor is working without any protector over it.

haha thanks for your reply, I've been trying to solve this issue for a week, been looking on the cm nightly and stable forums and here on xda trough all the posts that sounded closely related to my problem and didn't find anything... as soon as I post a questions 3 minutes later I found the problem.
To test it, I simply peeled the screen protector off and held it there while I made a call and it worked perfectly !! Then I cut out the part that goes over the prox sensor and its perfect again ( looks like crap but works ). Still gonna download that sensor tester ( curiosity XD).
P.S: totally unrelated to this post, I've been reading some of your "how to" posts here on xda, just wanted to say thanks for all the info you have put out there XD.

Hehe No problem
This happened with my co-worker's Nexus 4 (which is now my Nexus 4). She had been complaining about this for like a month, until I actually saw her screen, and that the corner of her screen protector had flapped loose and had a bunch of crud built up underneath it. It was a forehead smacker for me when I realized how obvious the cause/solution was. Not so obvious when I took possession and replaced the screen and had the same problem.

Phone went nuts! Only long-pressing touches on my G2!

For a few weeks my G2 was showing some very weird touchscreen issues, like ghost touches and dead spots where touching wouldn't do any good. Although the former problem seems to have been gone, the latter looks kinda permanent. But yesterday another problem showed up: my cellphone will only recognize touches if I long-press the screen for like three seconds. Eventually if I'm typing some password the touchscreen will work as well as ever but only for a short time, then I'll have to press the screen for three seconds for every touch I want to be registered by the device. Anyone has had this before or heard about this? Is there a fix? I looked at lots of threads before and none of them seemed to sympathize with my issues.
It looks hardware failure. My advise would be try and go into service menu and then settings and update touch firmware. You never know it might work

That was my first bet. It didn't help much.
I had the same problem and it comes back with random conditions. I had the digitizer replaced (not the complete LCD panel) which had my problem fixed for almost six seven months until the problem showed up again but the dead zone moved Much lower than before. I have not gone for LCD replacement because i don't know if it will fix my problem. There are numerous threads here. Go try them Maybe they will work out for you.
