Just got one of these and am struggling with the battery life. I've done all the things that are recommended, turned down the brightness watched out for any power hungry apps but it is chewing it's way through the battery big time. I had one day where it seemed to settle, so I know it can give me a days power but apart from that one day it's not making the day with Bluetooth on. Even with Bluetooth off it can't make it through the night. I can't work out why it managed it one day and not since. Any ideas?
Same here, got this device for few days and even if I uninstall almost everything, turn brightness as low as possible, disable WIFI, GPS vibrations - the battery remains for 8hours only.
Also, i've got a problem with GPS - seems to be not working at all, weather location is propably grabbed from WiFi signal location.
It is very dissapointing, will try to use it for few next days, but if it will not get better i will return the device - i did not pay for android smartwatch that is almost unusable
Same here. Disabled everything and it still will not last more than 8 hours. Any luck improving it?
I have a Finow x5 plus with the same problem. They are identical. I discovered with the Gsam battery program, that the problem is apparently in the "IOS notification" service. I close it, and it opens automatically. I'm trying to install Greenify, but I need to accept a configuration within accessibility and I'm not getting it according to the topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/other-smartwatches/enable-accessibility-x5-t3538252
I installed GSam Battery Monitor and it seems that what drains the battery is "Held Awake". I don't think this can be solved easily. The screen also uses a heck of a lot of battery. The good news is BT and wifi seem to not use much, even when kept on continuously.
I have disabled data connection on 3G, let's see if this changes anything.
Problem with greenify is I'd need to access with the watch with USB, but it seems Lemfo has disabled this, I can't even have the option in developer mode.
Some luck?
I've installed all the updates, then did a complete reset of the watch, removed the SIM card, disabled developers options, and proceeded iteratively installing apps. I left it over night and woke up to see a nice 84% battery.
Possible culprits: Display Brighness App, Quickball, or Calendar 4.4 (haven't reinstalled those yet... and not sure when I'll have time, but this may help you).
It would be neat to find a way to remove the IOS Notification over BT, but if battery lasts over a day, I can live with that.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
Guys, ive been looking for an answer... i've got the same problem with a lemfo lem5. Everybody who has this problem in android devices, they solved it just uninstalling the app Lux on their phone, but i cant see all the apps installed on my smartwatch... do you know any program to do it from the computer? because i've been looking for one app to do it from the smartwatch but no one works..
please help
p.s: (sorry for my bad english)
Quickball definitely used battery. very strange that GSAM didn't detect it, but since uninstalled watch goes into deepsleep mode most of the downtime... and 83% batery after 7 hours.
Edit: Quickball is not installed by default. Don't install it, and that's it. if you are looing for such an app, I have installed Floating Toucher, and it doesn´t affect battery life.

How to uninstall quickball?
Turn off the function automatically turn on the screen. Battery lasts longer than 1 day.
battery seems to last for a day. 3G is a battery killer, I keep it in airplane mode with BT enable to still manage the interaction with cell phone. NO WIFI. WiFi is terrible, use BT tethering for internet. not much slower, and much better in terms of battery life.
Install Screen Filter to reduce intensity, this will reduce the impact of the AMOLED screen on the battery.
Supposedly, it is possible to disable Ios Notification Push via Setting Search App. I haven´t managed to but the following might do the trick: Install GSAM Battery Monitor. Click on App Usage. Select Ios Notifications, click on the Manage button, then on Ios Notification Push. Force Stop. This seems to have worked for me.
EDIT: In setting Search, go to applications --> Running --> Google (or Google Services), find the Ios Notifications. Kill it.
Sorry bump up an old topic, but I also recently purchased this watch.
First impressions are great, although battery life is indeed not something to write home about.
I've follow previous mentioned instructions:
- Downloaded the app to adjust screen intensity.
- Killed IOS notifications process.
however some people mentioned killing quickball and lux to further increase the battery life.
But no instructions have been provided on how to kill these processes, and internet searches come up emptt.
Can some please provide instructions on how to kill/uninstall these processes?
Hi
Install GSAM Battery Monitor and Settings Search.
Using Setting Searchs, go to Applications and select IoS Notification Push and LEMFO. Stop them.
Quickball: just don't install it. Floating Toucher is a better option in term of battery life.

simple. don't install it. It's not a program by default, this was a follow up on a previous post.

I was thinking about buying the pro version, but it makes me laugh how people suggest to turn off 3g, disable bluetooth and wifi, uninstall this or that app... you buy a smartwatch and you end up using it as a regular watch. Is it really worth?
do not buy the pro version, the battery lasts a maximum of 6 hours and is full of bugs. I bought it and can not use it for what it should serve
How to reset the smartwatch LEMFO LF17 if only has one botton?
Please.

The battery lasts 24 hours +-1 or 2 , with no sim functions or anything , using it just like a watch with high brightness that's all
BT tethering

Hi fellow Xperia X10 owners!
Ive got my device now for 4 weeks and in the beginning my battery only lasted for like ... 5-6 hours max ? I got so annoyed i did some research on how to solve it, and to be honest.. ive seen MANY post and MANY solutions but none of them really worked or they were not explained detailed enough to make any sense .. after many useless tweaks i got my battery to last like 12 hours, and that is by just making like 1-2 phone calls and some messages, nothing more, left aside when i made photo's or used the web... so my device was still useless.
Then i started using "advanced task killer" and the auto-kill feature, but that didnt realy solved much so i installed "task cleaner" but that didnt do much either.
Now after 3 days trying to find out what the problem is, i finally came to the solution !!!
Many post suggest using "advanced task killer" but none of them really gave the perfect settings for it, well i finally found them out myself
The settings i use : Auto Kill Level ==> Aggressive
Auto kill Frequency => When screen off
Security Level ==> Low
And now for the first time EVER! my phone can last like 3-5 days without recharging!
Additional tweaks are: 2G only
disabling WIFI and Bluethooth
disable GPS and positioning
Disabling these 3 doesnt realy make any problems since you can access them quickly by using the "networking widget" so i dont care
also put screen brightness to auto adjust and all these other minor things you hear in all the other posts, i am not going to list them once more.
Ive made some photo's for you to see for yourself
I'm a new user so i cant post links yet.. so you will have to copy it

I'm not trying to fool you or anything, i'm honest
(its in Dutch btw)
Time since last Charge says : 4Hr 14min 11sec
And my battery level indicates 100%
At this moment it says 5hr 9min 10 sec and i just entered the 99% zone
i didnt really made any calls or anything, i just checked once in a while how my battery was doing so it was basically running idle but i am still Very impressed!
I'il let you know how it turns out tomorrow etc, after ive made some calls and stuff
Good luck to all of you and i hope your search to happiness is finally complete!
And yes i'm dutch so dont blame my spelling ^^
Regards, clintax
thx for your info, i'll try your setting now
interesting idea, but I think we need to go through the list of what it is closing down in case you want to keep anything running. I Will test your settings and see how it does.
I was just using Kill level - aggressive with security level - medium and it was doing ok. Nothing spectacular but at least I could go all day without needing a charge or battery swap.
i was wondering. What exactly did you auto kill on advanced task manager?
I keep looking and looking there is nothing particular i want to kill.
I'll try this out and see how it goes by tomorrow. And by the way are you using helix launcher, gde or anything? Or is this the only thing you're doing?
I set the level to medium instead of low, we'll see how it goes.
I've followed all of your guidelines, but when I set ATK Auto Kill Frequency to "Screen Off", it immediately turns the screen back on after turning it off. After letting it sit and naturally time out screen off, it immediately turns the screen back on... Vicious power-draining cycle.
Is there some other tweak that I'm missing in your post?
@clintax, I'm pretty sure that the real reason that you see this improvement is because you have basically disabled all your networking facilities.
I have wifi turned on (never turn off when plugged in), GPS is turned on (which is the best because it doesnt consume any power unless some app uses it), bluetooth is off (but can turn on on request via settings widget).
My phone lasts me over 12 hours, which is sufficient to cover a normal work day, I use it in the metro to read books, I check news and feeds occasionally. I use push email so that I get instant notifications.
Personally, I dont think using task killer applications to kill apps is the only factor in the improvements you report. Usually, whenever I check my battery usage, applications+android system are usually under 5% in total.
I'm pretty sure my battery will last longer if I follow your example, but my phone wouldnt be half as useful as it is now. I really dont mind charging it overnight.
Cheers!
j4mm3r
followed your instructions but didnt get help. actually, my major battery drains on radio and standby. the 2 items always takes more than 50% of the total drainage.
look forward to the comments from all of you.
Didn't see any improvements either. I usually get 25h+ without running any task killers or start auditors, with 3g always on and medium to hard usage of the phone, which I'm pretty happy with. So I think its the settings of the data and radio that drain the battery, not the applications.
As a fellow Dutchman I'll share my part
Well I've tried most stuff already on my X10 and the only stuff I can really find that drains my battery are faulty apps (or at least in combination with the X10), GPS and searching for network when I'm out of reach (which is seldom).
I've currently disabled Beautiful Widget using the Startup Auditor, because at some point it starts killing my phone by running 100% and not letting my phone go to sleep. And this is what I meant by faulty apps (or in conjunction with the phone/OS).
3G is always enabled (what would be the use of this phone if you would disable all features which makes a smartphone useful).
Network based location enabled (now using it for the Weather & Toggle app).
No taskkillers running whatsoever.
Running Helix Launcher2 as home with seven screens.
Sending 20 to 30 textmessages, browsing the internet for 30 minutes (half with wifi/ half without), some calls about 30 minutes, toying a lot on the phone two hours plus, some Google Maps navigation 15 minutes with GPS enabled.
This will get me two days of usage easily.
Oh and running R1FB001 at the moment but had these results already with the R1EA016.
.
well yea, i installed helix launcher yesterday but i uninstalled it right away because i didnt like it so much.
Well to be honest, before i used the agressive settings etc on ATK, i used the same settings on the rest of my device
Wich are
-Only 2G
-No WIFI or bluethooth on
-Gps off
-autosync off
-dissabled auto-update, and put it on manual
-deleted the cash of moxier, timescape, mediascape in settings->my applications, and removed there icons from the homescreen
-screen brightness on auto
I suggest you take a look at this video from sony, wich explains it more detailed

and my battery still drained atleast 3-4% hr if not more, it is only from WHEN i started using these settings in ATK that my battery life improved like 500%!
BTW as for what features it kills by doing so i dont know yet, but at this moment everything still works perfectly
At this moment i have 14hr 23min 31 sec and 96% battery left, i'il post another pic for you guys.

Well the important part off all this was Security Level ==> Low
it shows you like 3x more things running on you phone then normal, and i just killed them all except: Ignore list= ATK, Xperia Flashlight, Alarm, VizBattery, Handcent Sms and taskpanel, but i dont realy use taskpanel anymore
I am still trying to find out what it actually kills in particular but i heavent found any problems yet

I had two "battery cycles" where the battery lasted 48 hours with my normal usage (Moxier+Gmail in push, 3G data, no WiFi, some Bluetooth while driving the car, no GPS). I noticed that because I usually have a 24 hour duration, and at the end of the day, when I put the phone charging while I sleep, I still had more that 60% of the battery instead of the usual 15%! So I decided to not recharge overnight and so I get about 48 hours both times.
The third cycle lasted even more, about 60 hours!!!
However, starting from the fourth cycle... back to 20 hours, or even less... I have not changed anything, I'm not even using task killers... I really don't know what is wrong with this phone (the problem is not the battery itself, I tried with 2 original SE battery + the mugen).

Advanced task killer v1.7.9 build 57 (directly from market)
Ok, so with the settings I used over night, I had a 5% drop over a period of 7 hours sitting idle.
Auto Kill level - Safe
Kill Freq - When Screen Off
Security level - Medium
BT, WIFI and APN - disabled.
I had a 1% drop in like 6/7hrs.. fell asleep whilst using xda, 3g was still running an all..
I just use taskpanel
Wifi, gps, bluetooth & auto sync off
also Adw launcher
Edit.. Firmware 016 (only cause I can't remember the rest lolz)

To my own frustration, you are not the only one. A tracker app I made myself works flawlessly on multiple android Brands, but NOT on Huawei phones. The accuracy (an actual variable when programming location apps) goes from 20 (good) to 800 (very very bad) when the screen is switched off. I think Huawei wants to save the battery.... Nothing to do about it. Even when you mark the app as 'protected', no powersave thingies on etc. Sorry. I myself am thinking of buying a new phone with a CPU supported by Cyanogenmod. I gambled and lost this time) Good luck.
Hi,
I tried to find this exact problem, but not. I have serious problems with battery on my unlocked european Galaxy S8.
First I just tried some basic stuff like clearing the cache, diagnostics of Google services and so on. Then I installed BBS and GSAM, but nothing serious here. I monitored it like three days very often. Only thing that havnt made me any sense, is Android OS (something to do with kernel). It had more drain, than screen.
Second I tried some apps that I was suspicious to. Google Fit, Chrome, Facebook,... Nothing.
Okay, I tried Safe mode and even factory reset and nothing. So I was that angry, that I paid that much money for something, that even doesnt work properly, that I ordered a repair (they came to my home, took my S8, rent me another one and than after week or so they returned it).
I finally thought that it was bad piece, because they found the issue and swap daughterboard, charging cirquits, battery and reflashed OS. I didnt used Smart Switch or Google restore. I manually installed all my apps and I think, that battery drain started after I launched preinstalled Chrome. So of course I immediately disabled it, but battery drain didnt stop.
Now I was on vacation on place, where is like one bar of 4G or no signal, nothing else. In that place, battery was dying very fast. I turned on airplane mode and guess...
With my usual drain that Iam trying to figure out, I have about 2-3 hours of SOT only checking mails and browsing web with Spotify. With airplane mode on I played movie at evening. I had 89% after 2h of continuous playing HD movie with airplane mode. After I disabled it, battery started dying fast again.
I could not figure out, what is causing this, because in GSAM, BBS and setting is only "Android OS" and nothing more suspicious. I tried to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth scanning even when they are off, but nothing.
There is all my apps that I have installed in my S8:
Google Drive, Duo, Photos, Play Movies and TV, MS Excel, OneDrive, Power Pint, Skype, Word, Samsung Email, Galaxy Apps, Internet, My files, Samsung Connect, Samsung Gear, Samsung Health, Smart Switch, Voice recorder, 4G switcher, Adblock Plus for Samsung Internet, Airbnb, Google Analytics, Android Auto, Apshalt 8, Bakalari (my school app), Boldbeast recorder PRO, Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Clash of CLans, Clock, COntacts, CPU-Z, CZC.cz (app for local IT eshop), eBay, ES File explorer Pro, Facebook, Flixbus, Flud, Gallery, Gmail, Golf Clash, Google, Google Trips, Hangouts, Google Home, IDOS (czech app for time tables of trains and buses), Instagram, IP Tools, Google Keep, Letuška.cz (app for buying airplane tickets), Google Maps, Mapy.cz (local maps app), Messages, Messenger, MX Player, My Vodafone, NaVlak (another app for timetables wih widget, thats always synchronized ony my screen), Phone, Play Games, Play Music, Play Store, QRbot, Samsung Members, SD Maid Pro, Settings, SledovaniTV (app for watching TV online), UniCredit Smart Banking, Speedtest, Spotify, Steam, Strava.cz (school app for ordering meals), Stream (local youtube), Tenda WiFi, Tik-App, Translate, Trello, Wifi Analyzer, Wifi File transfer Pro, YouTube, Zaslat.cz (local app for ordering couriers to deliver packages).
Could you guys pleas give me some advices? I even tried disable Always On display, but nothing. Iam very shattered about this. At least we know, that it is software related issue, not hardware.
Thank you very much guys and sorry for my bad english skills
EDIT: It is caused by SW 1000%, because I experienced same issue on rented S8 when mine was at warranty repair.

you said it yourself..
it uses a lot more power when you have a weaker signal.
Hi, yes. It was worser, but I also had here my Nexus 6 and he was fine and chilling with one bar wo/ amy problems.
But with my S8, I have this problems in city wjere I live too. Amd there is everywhere full bars of coverage of 4G+ as my S8 says. Something is wrong. Usually at city I habe 2-3 hours SOT of light usage, on that vacation I could have maxfor example 1-1,5h. That was only worse.
I tried running 24 hours without any sync (I disabled it on status bar toolbox) and nothing change, so synchronizing isnt the cause aswell. It must be some app or bad settings or I dont know what else.
Thank you.
I get 6 hours of SOT and 1 day+ usage using an S8+ with AOD on, WiFi and more apps than you do.
Ask for a replacement / battery swap.
Please, there is milion threads about great battery life. I know that it have And as I said, they completely changed battery, charging cirquits and USB-C connector. And with airplane mode there is no battery drain. So I suppose, that it couldnt be HW related issue.

Greenify put unused and background apps to hibernate. I think it's worth a try. I used to have the same problem as u. After few days using Greenify, my batter is getting better.
I tried to Greenify suggested apps, but nothing. I tried AnTuTu Battery test (4% one) and Ive got 12800 points. I have problem with SOT, where percentage is dropping hard, but also sleep, there is big drain, but like 10% a night in well coveraged area. Could anyone help? I dont want to return this good device... But Iam also very angry, that I must deal with this sh*t...
Thank you.
Do a factory reset once more and try not to install ANY apps for at least 2-3 charges. Be in a good coverage area. After a couple of days, install your key apps and use it for another 2-3 charges. Finally install all your apps and check. As a side note, also check your standby time with and without data connectivity when you do not have any apps installed.
Install a app that watches for Wakelocks.
I suggest you this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats
I've used it many times and sometimes it can give useful information about something draining too much battery (While the screen is off).
Yes. I did this research. All I can see in those apps is drain by Android OS (no more accurate) and it stops with turning on airplane mode.
I tried Greenify almost every app to try, but nothing.
I dont have much time to do factory resets and setup my phone again and again. Iam trying to research it as deep as I can with yours help. If it will be neccesary, Ill do third factory res.
I will instal that monitoring app once again and then put screenshots in here.
No panic....something is bruning your battery and preventing your phone entering deep sleep....
Install betterbattery stats and post pics or wakelogs as mentioned before.....
Hint:i had similar issues back with s7... it was corrupted media file i had on sd card.... phone was trying to scan system and files in loop while connected to network.....any chance that you have sd memory external card with full of music? We will know more after your screenshots from bbs app.
Best of luck
Kernel wakelocks
Okay, I used it for while with permitted GSAm and these kernel wakelocks are very strange...
Grip sensor I dont know, but the umts is very interesting. It has to be something that is draining, because wo/ sim or airplane mode it is running perfectly fine. I read something about it and it is maybe caused because unsupported modem for my network, but I purchased it in here in official Samsung brand shop and yes, on the package is European SIM only. Which I have. My friend will try it and if he will have this problems, I will sent it to warranty again or my SIM card is maybe faulty.
Just install package disabler pro on play store. disable bloatware and applications that you dont need
Icant see any reason soing it. I want it sctock and running fine. These advices arent solution. There is problem in something else and I want to research what. There are mmc0 and umts wakelocks, but biggest wakelock is in some app that I could not figure out.
Does package disabler pro really help with the battery?

Hi guys,
My phone is having sleeping problems. He's just not relaxed and is constantly bothered by something and this tension keeps waking him up many times, even though he is supposed to rest! I've tried my best to give him the right conditions - no Wi-Fi, no BT, full Airplain Mode, yet it is simply not enough.
I attach some images to make it clear.

What's the android version do you have? Lollipop or Marahmallow, i have YD206 with YD201 software, it has some issues with lolli and others with Marsh.
Do you have the hybrid Radio? The european or the chinese? If you dont even know then i suggest you to install the hybrid radio, it solves problems with the battery drain and the warm issues (yota hell xD).
I dont use greenify, i just use the freezing mode from titanium backup.

Absolutely the same problems on my YD-201 6.0.1 with the same configurations (TWRP, Xposed, Greenify, NovaLauncher + Stock Battery Optimization). Besides, my wifi cannot be disabled, it is always active whatever i try. It is always on search mode even it is disabled. Hey, how do you get the dark theme for stock settings menu? And is your Battery Optimization Settings active?

An update: THINGS ARE GETTING BETTER [after installing Better Wifi on/off (read below)]
1. I'm using Greenify and have hibernated many applications - this might be one of the solutions to the Wi-Fi usage. (See attached zip file for which apps are hibernated)
2. I installed an app called Better Wifi on/off version 2.1.0.0 from Google Play Store and have set the rules how to turn on/off (See also attached zip file for the exact set-up).
3. The Wifi sometimes appear to be ON on Battery Usage Graphic, but actual battery consumption is not noticed. The the normal consumption for 'Phone idle' is about 3-4% per day (around 120 mA). This would suggest that the phone will be able to last around 20 days if totally idle.
4. BLUETOOTH BUG - somewhere in this forum I read that after connecting the phone via Bluetooth to some external gadget (in my case UE Roll 2 music box), even after disconnecting, the Bluetooth causes Wakelock and this dramatically drains the battery!!! (See screenshot) The solution is Restart of the phone. On the Battery graphic you can clearly see the drain from Awake and after that I did a Restart and let the phone stay idle - the usage dropped immediately!
5. I'm using stock Battery Optimization
6. [OFF-TOPIC] To make background color for menus dark I use projekt.substratum_490_minAPI23.com.apk (attached to the post) and after installing it, I downloaded the theme InversionUI from Google Play Store. (I can't stand white/bright colors on my screen, especially at night, and knowing what it does to my battery since I'm on AMOLED display).

All your questions are answered by the Screenshots in my first post - have a look.
Hello, I recently updated my S8 from Nougat to Oreo and I noticed a HUGE difference in battery life. I usually have a SoT of 4-5+ with heavy usage. But since the update, my battery would only last around 2 SoT more or less. I had already done a factory reset and turned off Bixby but my battery is still draining.
I've also heard some people said that the new update requires the phone to "settle" and store the cache so it can "get used to" my usage, with a minimum of 1 week (only had this update for 2 days). I'm not sure if that's true but I don't seem to have many options right now which is why I'm now open to any other suggestions and if all suggestions are done and draining still persist, I might have to roll back to Nougat. Thank you.
Try disabling bixby apps. It helped to a lot of users (not me)

I've already done that, still draining.
you have to master reset, after a major update it's always good to factory reset

S8 Oreo Battery Drain
Good Afternoon,
The 3 phone services to disable the background activity has worked a bit but my battery is still draining pretty good... is there any other services I can check to see if the background activity is being used somewhere else?
Simply flash Nougat & enjoy your device .

nah.. samsung should care more about the battery draining
This is completely out of left field, but if you have Allo installed, make sure it isn't using your camera too hard. A week before I upgraded to Oreo I found that one day Allo had used my camera for 46 minutes, even though app foreground time was like 15 minutes and I hadn't launched the camera in Allo at all that day. My solution was to revoke the Camera permission for Allo and that seemed to take care of it.
Unfortunately I just got the Oreo upgrade, Allo still isn't allowed to use camera and I'm getting roughly half my normal battery life anyway as well, haven't been able to determine what else it could be yet.
Whelp, bad news, I did a factory reset and that totally fixed my battery I think! So, great for me, my phone is back to normal, but not a useful data point for you unfortunately.
I don't understand why all these "adjustments" need to be made after a version "upgrade". "I'm the latest and greatest version! I'm going to set things in your phone that eat up your battery!" WHY??
Everything was fine after the Oreo update, but I can barely get through a full day without changing. The main issue seems to be Android system.
Disable all smart locks if enabled like Voice recognition, location locks etc., It will definitely drain battery if enabled.
