My screen is having flickering at minimum brigthness.
So is there any way to increase the minimum brightness to higher value ?

A screenshoot or something?
I'm currently using this app from this thread. It fixed my brightness to one value and seems to be doing it's job on Nougat. I'll update later but it seems to working for me.

Does anyone know of any kernel that supports reduced brightness anymore? Voodoo used to before it went all audiophile on us.
The screen brightness is raping my eyes and screen filter makes colours look horrid.
Even typing this is giving me a headache

Try hardcores speedmod kernels.

Many custom roms allow you to customise the auto brightness, but I prefer to use lux auto brightness app - it is brighter by default. I'm not sure about the HTC one, but using one of those two solutions (and colour calibration if necessary using a custom kernel) it will improve

I strongly recommand you to actually upgrade to full version of lux.
The auto profile is amazing, during night time it automatically dim out more than the day profile. Best 4 bucks I've ever spent on play store
I will definitely buy the full. For now I will run it as much as possible. I'm having good battery life and this app seems no effect on it.

Those who had the S3 might remember a hack to increase the max brightness to be the same as the extra added maximum brightness when in Auto Brightness.
Would a similar hack be possible for the note 3?
I looked in /sys/class..... at the brightness options but can't remember the exact hack. I think it was changing auto brightness file to 1?

I am interested for the same , if anyone found a way to have the max brightness that is used in auto under the sun please let me know.
Topped, because I too am interested in this.
I don't like using Auto Brightness. But I need as much brightness as possible sometimes.
I'd like to get it while using my Display Brightness app's slider.
Hey together,
I wondered, if it's possible to reduce the minimum screen brightness, which is set to 10 in the system settings.
I don't want to use any third party app like rootDim, etc. I'm running the latest official nightly along with Devil2-2.3.2 kernel installed, can the problem be solved using the settings seen in the attached screenshot?
Thanks in advance,
klenamenis

you can have a try to adjust the automatic brightness levels yourself.
For me it's OK to set it to 2.

I did, but there's the limit set at 10 - meanwhile it's 5 due to some experimenting with the kernel values, although I don't know what exactly caused the drop.
System settings of automatic brightness attached.

Bump. Anyone?
I also found this line in /system/build.prop, but changing it doesn't have any noticeable effect.
Code:
ro.lcd_min_brightness=5
That is a config value in the device tree

How about this?
It's a pretty unusable interface but they modify the gamma!

"adjusts the screen colors and content"
You sure this isnt just "vivid" mode where grass is neon green for people with bad eyes?
Try yourself with smallest changes from original position and check with display tester

All it says is it turns it on. Trickster MOD Kernel has color adjustment too. I wonder whether this require CPU power and thus causes battery drain though.

Tap again on the bar and you get to the adjustment interface.
It allows you to increase contrast and change hue.

Instead of using your thumb, I wished they provided some scalers. Very hard to calibrate a screen using the current method.

It is, especially when it does what we want but cannot share accurate settings. I can't say put the circle near the widget icon as a setting lol
It dies change gamma but not consistently through all colors

but... This means that the gamma values can be changed by software and the kernel is not gamma locked!
how about a modiefied rom that provides some scalers to color change interface?

Exactly what I was thinking.
Basically something that allows us to independently adjust Hue, Saturation and Luminance for RGB. :good:

I can't seem to make any improvement using this feature. I can certainly make things worse.
I suspect this feature is to help with color blindness. Best position is top center.
Top center is default.
Try small adjustment. .. very small!

I have. Sometimes I just slightly roll my fingertip.
From what I can tell: Left/Right is Hue/Tint Up/Down is Saturation (maybe some Gamma).
