Short answer no.
Long answer, TWRP is uses to flash either modified boot image, superuser, or other things. So no. It is needed.

But i m confused, our recovery based on koush i.e. cwm and it does not support background png, but there is a hope.

i9500 5.0.1 stock with knox. how to root and install xposed without bootloop ??

Root with CF-Auto-Root.
Afterwards, Deodex your ROM and install this. I never used this myself so don't ask me for details.

you already got the Xposed and Root working, so no need to deodex.

Magisk Root on LOS 15.1?

Hello,
Would somebody be willing to link me to a guide or explain how this is achieved with the A/B partition? I flash twrp and patch the boot image but I am never able to actually get magisk to show up on my phone..
Any help is greatly appreciated.
