Just after some advice please guys. I just bought an s4 ( in australia ). 1.9 processor and the usuall other stuff but this s4 is the arctic blue model with 16gb internal storage.
I can't find enough consistant information about this model on the forums. I couldn't even find the corresponding firmware for the phone on samsung website so i checked if there was an update for the phone....there was and i downloaded. The below are the new details for the phone. All i want to do is root the phone and remove as much bloatware as possible without downloading any roms or any boot animations etc etc.
1) Where can i get the corresponding samsung firmware?
2) What's the safest root method for this device?
Model number GT-19505
Baseband version 19505XXUEMK9

I really want to try out the new lollipop on my s5. but its been a while since the last time I did any form of flashing and I am having some trouble figuring out witch ones is safe to flash on my S5 900f, witch was bought in Norway.
I am currently running a Omega Rom and have flashed and tested a few other 4.4.2 roms, so I think ill be able to figure it all out if I can just figure out witch ones is safe
Modell number: SM-G900F
Another number I dont know what is: G900FXXU1ANE2
Build number: Omega 7.1 - XXU1ANG2
I was looking a bit into this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ent/rom-cyanogenmod-12-0-android-5-0-t2945538
in the download sectoin there I find this message:

If your specific model isn't listed above and is a CDMA device it is not supported. Otherwise flash the unified GSM build below....

you need the unified gsm
Hi,
Bought a Galaxy S5 which I'm struggling to update (preferably to a unrooted, stock UK ROM)
baseband: g900TUVU1ANCH
Model number: SM-G900F
Android version: 4.4.2
Build no: DONGCHAO.607
From the Samsung phone info app:
Bootloader:G900TUVU1ANCH
PDA VERSION:
G900W8VLU1AND1
CSC VERSION:
G900W8OYA1AND1
Latest Firmware:
Not found
Root existance:
Yes
Build no.
KOT49H.G900W8VLU1AND1 (Why is this different?)
I could be wrong but from the numbers above I think it's using a Chinese ROM which may be preventing me putting a UK ROM on there.
The model number in Android and the Samsung Phone Info app is reported as a SM-G900F, but when I restart the phone in download mode it's reported as a SM-900T.
Can anyone explain which ROM I should be using and how I get 5.0>?
thanks!

10/05/16: Baseband PA1 for SM-G800H
03/05/16: Baseband PC5 for SM-G800F
13/04/16: Changed packing from *.zip to *.rar
10/04/16: Added Basebands for G800H, G800M and G800Y
08/04/16: Initial post
Hello,
Could you please provide a short introduction howto install the files? Odin does not accept zip files, so I assumed that I have to extract it. Unfortunately, the zip files are all not valid and I can't extract them. I used the Windows 10 internal zip Viewer and also 7zip. Did I miss something or are the files corrupt?
Thx!

What kind of error message is displayed? I packed them with winrar, maybe try unpacking with it.
For the howto see first post.

Yes, they are packed as rar-file. I renamed your file to *.rar and could unpack it.
Thanks for this topic

@ tester02: Why do you name rar files as zip files, this make no sense? Then could you please rename the files and upload them again to avoid further confusion? Thx.
@ohtna You're welcome!

I ticked "zip" in winrar and it doesn't make sense to me renaming them just to fool you!
Nevertheless I changed the files to *.rar. Keep in mind I packed them with winrar 5.x!
For everyone, who got corrupted files after download!

Open your downloaded file in hex editor (HxD for example, it's free)
You will see something like this text: "Modem_G800FXXU1BPC3_17.03.2016.rarRar!..."
just delete all before "Rar!" ("Modem_G800FXXU1BPC3_17.03.2016.rar" in this example)
save the file.
Now you can open archive. Test will be passed.
@ertyz I changed the mime from application/x-rar-compressed to application/octet-stream. Could you verify that the files are still corrupt for you?
ok, I was tryed Firefox, Chrome, wget2. They always download corrupt files (with filename string in file head).
But one fun thing, when I press in Firefox "open file" instead "save file", file opened correctly (chrome doesn't get me a choise)
How is the performance on the latest lollipop ? Is it still suffering from lags and freezes?
In my understanding the modem.bin is the firmware for the 3g modem and NON-HLOS.bin the firmware for the 4g/LTE modem.
Therefore it should be possible to use modem.bin and NON-HLOS from different firmware versions, e.g. the NON-HLOS from KSA-G800HXXU1BPD1 and the modem.bin from SER-G800HXXU1BPB4. Is that assumption correct?
There are a couple of new firmwares updated today, could you please update this thread with these new basebands? I don't know what benefit does it have to use newer ones, but it's worth a try

Macedonia - CMF, South East Europe - SEE and France - XEF all contain the PC3 (G800FXXU1BPC3) we already have.
Best regards

I don't think so.
At least the one from Macedonia has PDA: G800FXXUIBPD1 and CSC G800FOXX1BPD6.
I don't really know what does this mean (actually, I do not have any idea what does this mean xd), but it seems different from the rest.
Best regards

I downloaded the Macedonia version just to verify. After the extraction I got G800FXXU1BPD1_G800FOXX1BPD6_G800FXXU1BPC3_HOME.tar and it contains the G800FXXU1BPC3 from the 17.03.2016.
The structure is always the same: PDA_CSC_Phone/Modem and it's the same for the other two versions from today.
Cheers

Many thanks for updating the basebands.
Would someone with an SM-G800M/Y be so kind and send me his modeltype and console output of: ls -al /dev/block/platform/*/by-name
Maybe somebody with an SM-G800H, too. At the moment I do not know where to install the NON-HLOS. I appreciate any further information!
The goal is to provide flashable files for every modeltype.

Hey Guys, look
Before installing the firmware (that you downloaded from sammobile)
Install a custom Recovery like TWRP via Odin
Then, go to your custom Recovery and wipe EVERYTHING (system, cash...)
After That, turn on your phone, and it will not boot up (it will stuck and The POWERED BY ANDROID page)
And, remove your battery, then put it back
And finally, install the firmware via Odin
You're welcome
