Hi
I have tried to find a solution for my situation in the last 2 days and I didn't find one.
I have a N910F with 5.0.1 lollipop stock rom. it is rooted and with TWRP recovery. i have used Odin.
The problem is that my phone started to act weird 2 days ago while charging. It was restarting itself while charging and i decided to stop charging. After few hours when i have tried i couldn't charge anymore. if i am using a USB cable to attach to my pc it saying USB device not recognized .
I want to flash a stock recovery or a 4.4.4 rom using only custom recovery( i have tried mobile odin but my device is not supported, also i have tried different genuine samsung usb cables). i have found a stock rom 4.4.4 flashable through custom recovery, but because i have 5.0.1 modem is not booting up.
How can i remove the custom recovery and flash a standard recovery without odin? i have root at the moment and custom recovery.
can some one send me a stock recovery for BOB4 5.0.1 lollipop flashable from custom recovery or flashfy/rom manager?
many thanks.
also i have tried to restore my nandroid backup and restore to factory defaults. the device status is still CUSTOM. the rom part it should be official, it is just the recovery non standard.
any help? suggestions? are the contacts near the battery usb compatible? can i use those contacts as usb? i want to send back phone to warranty and i don't want complications.
I have managed to update my recovery to stock one with flashify, also i have updated to boot.img with flashify. Problem is that the system status is still custom, and binary still custom. Any solution to that? ( one solution is to wait for wanam to be updated for lollipop and reset).
I'm on rooted 4.4.2 and would love to install the jasmine rom. However my sd card tray has not been working for about a year. So I bought an external usb drive that fits in the phone. I'm able to transfer files easily when the phone is normally running buy while in safestrap the phone doesn't recognize anything.
So I'm curious, is there a way to flash the jasmine rom using only odin?
The charging port on my s5 got messed up when i used a usb cord that was messed up. if i do plug it in and adjust the cord to connect the slightest movement will disconnect the phone from my computer. i dont trust it flashing the bootloader for 6.0.1 as it could randomly disconnect during the flash. i can complete the flash of the rom through flashfire but i cannot safely flash the bootloader through usb. im currently on 5.0 BOE1 OD5 wondering if there is another method to upgrade to 6.0.1 without using odin or loosing root
Hello there,
So I was trying to update the android version on my Note 3, because android 5.0 is outdated and vastly unsupported. I rooted my phone correctly, and flash TWRP onto it with Odin v3.10.6. But every time I try to boot into recovery, it simply goes into the Odin flash screen. I'm not able to access the recovery, and not able to install the rom (Lineage OS).
I have tried re-flashing the rom.
If there is any solution to this, please let me know.
Thank you.
Search your question answered many times .
Usual is you are flashing a TWRP for the wrong model .
Try an older TWRP and then upgrade TWRP .
There is no need to root the phone before flashing TWRP.
WARNING: there is always a risk of bricking a phone whenever flashing files with Odin. Be prepared to deal with a possibly bricked phone.
This method has worked for several of my Samsung phones:
Download Odin 3.07: https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1168421
Download the tar version of TWRP 2.8.5.0 from here: https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxynote3qualcomm.html
Open Odin, do not check anything except for f reset time. Place TWRP in the PDA slot, flash TWRP. When you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove USB cable from phone, remove battery, replace battery, use buttons to boot into recovery.
The T-Mobile Note 3 forum is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-tmobile
Thanks!
Thanks So Much!
I was able to bot into the recovery and install lineage OS!
:good::good:
Glad it worked for you
I need some help anyone. My hlte has been on lollipop for a long time. But decided to try some new roms, haven't flashed in a few years. Anyway I was using the newest twrp and tried flashing a few ROMs but they were unsuccessful. I know from experience that formatting the system deleted all personal data in twrp, so I flashed Philz touch recovery to clean my system for a clean rom install. After that I flashed the last zip file for hlte from the twrp website. And now recovery doesn't boot, but download mode will boot. But I think someone was in my settings before the flash, and disabled USB debugging possibly, because my computer will not detect it. Tried several cables, and other computers, but still will not recognize my note 3. Maybe it's in charging only mode? Because it charges. Is there any hope? Please help if you can. Thanks
TWRP usual is user is using wrong TWRP for the rom .
USB debugging is not needed .
Install Samsung USB drivers to PC . Flash stock rom via Odin .
USB contacts for charging are separate from the USB contacts for data.
It's possible that the USB port on the phone is defective.
root
look like for some reason my s4 lost software when, am booting it shows me,
firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.
I can only boot to download mode no recovery mode
I downloaded android 4.4.2 Kitkat for my device and tried to install it via Odin but Odin get stuck on initialization I don't know why I tried 3 different version of Odin and all of them do the same thing and I tried to flash recovery and it also shows the something how can I fix this and install new rom if Odin won't work and there is no recovery to flash even custom ROM.
thanks for the help in advance
Did you try different USB cables? Is the phone assigned to a com port in Odin? Where did you get the stock ROM? Did you try flashing the least stock ROM?
