Hi im new here i have failed to remove the built in optus splash screen on startup and shut down.. flashing is not an option as there is no rom custom or stock at all i looked through 87 google results including samsworld .i tried rom toolbox pro file explorer and es file explorer and they both only found the samsung boot and shutdown screen images i am rooted and running jellybean im not game to flash anyway as have not done it before and it seems like a lot of techy work is involved of which i am not good at there were plenty of results for the I9505 and the I9500 but not for my version of the s4 is there any way around flashing to rid my annoyance of the optus splash screen as it seems there are no roms for my model of phone i hope i am not stuck with it thank you all
Hi there,
I will move your thread in the correct forum dedicated to Samsung S4 for more relevant answers.
Good luck
Here you can find ROMs for your model. Specifically, the JDCTeam ROMs support it.
But is it worth removing that splash screen? You only see it for a few seconds during a reboot. And, unless you reboot like 10-20 times a day, I don't see how adding a new one would be beneficial, as you're not going to see it so much.
I honestly don't think it's worth it. But I'm an idiot, so what do I know
PS: The phone model is I9507 (with an i) not 19507.

Hi Guys, I have had this phone for around a week now. I have it rooted and installed a T-mobile ROM. The problem I am having is that I cannot do the 3 button trick. I have been browsing the forums and everyone who is having this problem is told to exchange it.
Since I have a different ROM, and accidentally wiped my phone during the install not very smart on my behalf). My phone boots up with this ugly pink "stick together" logo and irritating sound.
Is there a download where I can change it back to the original one that came with my Bell?
I originally posted this in the Vibrant section and realized that more Bell users were over here in the forum. Sorry for the double posting.
ayy yai yai viejo... this is complicated.
Where are you in Canada?
try these methods that people have tried,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754673&page=3
some of them worked, some of them not, but still should try it, to at least get it to Download mode, so you can flash it back to the stock JG9 or JH2 ROMs
I am unable to do the three button trick, but through ROM manager I can load other ROMs. I just don't know where I can download a stock ROM?
I am located in Calgary, Alberta.
good, at least you got that working
go to the ROM Manager topic in Development section and ask for help there for the ROM that you need to fix the phone.
Thanks for your input guys, I actually ended up taking at back and told them I accidentally loaded the wrong ROM. And without the three button enabled I was unable to flash it back to the proper ROM. Thus killing two birds with one stone. And now I have a device that has the 3 buttons enabled.
nice! good to hear that
Hi!
I just rooted my Samsung GT-I9505 a few weeks ago with Odin v3.07 and CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5.
Note that I didn't install any custom ROM.
It worked fine until now.
When I turned my phone off, it got stuck in reboot. The screen is black with a "Android OS is upgrading.. Opening all applications."
It's been 30mins and it just stayed there so I decided to take the battery off, put it back in and turn myphone on.
Now it's just stuck with the samsung logo. And whenever I factory reset and reset cache it, it just get stuck with a black screen with a "Android OS is upgrading.. Opening all applications."
Did I just bricked my phone? Is there any way to fix this?
Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!
Wrong section maybe?

From your post I see you got gt-i9505 and that is plain Galaxy S4, not Galaxy S4 Active (gt-i9295). Although the phones are quite like twins, try S4 forum instead.
But if you really have S4 Active (again, it's gt-i9295, it has 3 physical buttons insted of just Home under the screen) and you flashed 9505 as root method, this forum deals with your approach and this particular post might be of interest. There is however even easier way and that is to root from now working CWM recovery for i9295.
Either way good luck with your phone :fingers-crossed:

Yeah! Sorry. Posted it in the wrong section. Just don't know how I'll delete this post.
Aww.. Thanks! Hopefully it'll be fix before the morrow.
Please pay attention to the device forum in which you seek help
There are many models of S4 and use of some software will turn your device into a $700 paperweight

I've been trying to locate the splash screen file. I've been told is in the param.bin, I've been having problems taring this file. I have been provided the stock splash but I need the version with the custom text and the unlocked padlock. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello, I don't know if you are still with the problem, but since nobody wrote, lets see what we can do.
I have my Note 4 now for like 4 days, but as I changed the boot splash screen on every Samsung device I had in the past, I thought it should be easy to do it on the Note 4 also.
The problem was starting when I found threads here about changing the boot splash screen, every single of them wasn't exactly for my model the N910F. And I can also remember that I mostly had European "F" models.
Till now I didn't found a way to do it on the N910F, don't know which model you got, maybe you got the "N910C" then it should work.

Did try You?
Got a slight problem here.
First of all how do I find out the original network / carrier the phone was on?
I stupidly went and flashed the XSA (Australia) firmware without making note of the original carrier. Is there a way I can find out?
Secondly every time I boot the phone up it does a boot loop at least 4 times before it gets into the system.
Any ideas on this?
Thanks
G900i
My device came with Telstra firmware. I have flashed XSA, Optus, Vodafone, Spark NZ and India.
No problems.
Did you use Odin to flash your firmware?
What country are you in?
Hi
Yes I am in Australia and yep I used Odin.
It seems that even flashing TWRP the same issue I encounter but the strange thing is, although it shows up 'Recovery booting' and shows the Samsung Galaxy S5 splash logo I can still press buttons on the phone and I know this because it vibrates. Its almost like TWRP is there and is open in the background but its just not displaying at all. I have honestly tried so much.
I have downloaded (Using Sam Firm) the latest XSA and even found the PIT file to re partition but that made no difference.
The phone has had a total of around 7 LCD screens installed which came from various sellers in China. Due to the constant connection and disconnections of them I would say it may well be responsible for this issue as it has caused no doubt some considerable amount of stress to the motherboard. Maybe I am wrong I am just not sure.
It is a bizarre issue. I have never come across it before.
Standard stock recovery is also behaving the same way... I am getting, in blue, on the top of the screen 'Recovery Booting' then thats it... just that... waiting for ages and nothing happens but I am pretty sure that it is actually open behind the message which says 'Recovery Booting'
The whole things a bit of a mess.... When starting up the OS normally it takes around 5 bootloops for it to actually load up lol
Wow!! That's just crazy. Sounds like your device might have seen better days.
Occasionally I think its good to take the phone back to kitkat then to MM before twrp and custom roms.
I currently run klte version of /e/ pie ROM on my device which works very good. Un-Googled so my tired battery lasts better.
Best of luck with your problem.
Happy New Year mate.
