Can i use an ebay android 5.1 smartwatch to receive and make calls over Bluetooth on my primary phone or do i need to get an ebay smartwatch that supports Bluetooth calling?
You need a tethering watch.

Sure you can, just buy a watch support sim card that support two way talk, also support sync music player, just touch the screen of the watch.:highfive:
Hi to all,
I just receive the DM368 (android 5.1) SMART WATCH and I want to use it with my iPhone (with out SIM cart on watch)..
I have pair it and get only notifications from the phone. Do you know if there is any android app which I can install in watch
in order to transform it to a Bluetooth handset and answer calls from iPhone with my watch ?
Also I have problem with caller ID (I cannot see it from my watch) do you know if it;s possible ?
Thanks in advance
No. It's not possible.
These watches are stand alone phones. No voice call tethering is possible

Hi.
How to pair with iphone?
Best regards.
I'd like to buy a smartwatch, however all that meet my requirements (AMOLED, waterproof) are stand-alone versions, with SIM card slot. I've notice that most of these watches do not support full phone synchronization. I'd like my watch to have functionality like: phone camera trigger, answering phone calls, answering SMS or WhatsApp messages...
If some of you can advice me how can I achieve that by external software, or what kind of smartwatch should I buy to meet those requirements, it would be great.
None of them will be able to make or receive calls properly through Bluetooth if that is what you are asking.
There is a reason for this. Google owns the api that allows this kind of interaction with Android. They will never allow it to be used on these watches. To google, these watches go against everything they are working on with Android Wear. They also protest that it is a security issue.
So, long story short - if you want full Bluetooth interactive mode you will need a Wear watch.
Not one of these Bluetooth pairing watches you find on Aliexpress. They also are not allowed to use these api's and cannot make or receive calls over Bluetooth.
If you find one that really works (a lot of them claim to but don't) I'd be interested ?
You might look at the Ticwatch 2. Nice looking watch and is licensed by Google - kind of......

Have you looked at the Imacwear M7? It might be what you're looking for.

Thanks @pablo11, however I can't say that I'm happy with what I've just read So it is not possible to implement this functionality in ROM or with the App?
Samsung watches overspend my budget
I completely don't get it! A 10$ smartwatch (like DZ-09) can answer phone calls and push notification two-way, and 100$ can't?
My Bluetooth keeps saying wrong pin with all my devices and even the car. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this! Ps. I'm on 4.5.8 cleaned installed.
Thanks
Hello,
I'm getting the same issue with my OnePlus5.
I'm not able to connect any device with bluetooth and each time I try to pair a device (car, smartwatch, other smartphone galaxy S6), the other device shows a pin code and asks if the same on the OnePlus5 but nothing happens on my OnePlus5.
after few seconds (about 30), I get pairing failed message saying "Couldn't pair with DeviceName because of an incorrect PIN or passkey."
Could you please help how to solve the issue. Thanks in advance.
My Device is:
OnePlus 5
OS / Version : OxygenOS 4.5.14
Recovery (stock/twrp/autre) : stock
Root (oui/non) : no
not getting passkey/pin accept prompt on the phone. Smartwatch & phone see one another and the phone attempts pairing, while the smartwatch displays code, but then the phone does nothing, timing out and giving wrong code message. Running 5.02
How can I get the phone to take the next step, to display a passkey confirm prompt? Have I defeated the popup with some other sw e.g. Malware bytes?

It didn't work for me with my smartwatch if I choose Bluetooth LE.
What's your setup?

How do you connect to the watch? With Bluetooth or Bluetooth LE. My Pebble Time Steel provides both, but with LE im also getting no pass key. That's why I'm asking about connection

My system/stock Bluetooth pairs just fine with headsets, GoogleHome, my cars A3 & A4, even with my Dell Laptop
Asking for if anyone with similar OP5/5.02 has had similar experience so to see if it is intrinsic or due to other sw interactions.

Seems like a watch problem, cause I have also an audi A4(2016) and Bluetooth headsets and several connections to other cars and Bluetooth hands free
Maybe someone with the same Smartwatch and op5 can test?

New watch. Wife got it as a tester. Not sure its even in the market yet. Who among your associates has an OP5? Me? none.
Watch generates&displays passkey, sees phone
Phone sees watch
User starts pairing
Phone never prompts passkey acceptance
So this seems like the phone is the problem? not to me.
[other background] Paired just fine with an iphone7
SO your ultimate contribution was to suggest that find someone with the same hardware combo? LOL. The point of a forum is for far flung users to share related experience and insights.. SO your ultimate contribution was to suggest find someone with the same hardware combo? LOL.

It was not my ultimate contribution to find one with the same watch, just a suggestion, but... It's a new watch, new to the market and it didn't pair with your op5 but with an iPhone 7. Maybe it's a problem of the watch if it's new several phones wouldn't supported maybe.
And since other devices pair successfully with your op5, where to look further? Maybe you have another android phone and can check?

Not due to the iphone7 pairing. It's unpaired now and it returns to stock when unpairing.
So yeah, will pair/attempt with the wife's S9+ this evening.
Thanks
Hi all, the Pioneer SPH-8TAB-BT is brand new and decided to open a topic about it.
First issue I have that there is no call-out button in the software, while if I am dialing a number on my phone, there is a screen that shows who I am calling.
Second, is there any other FM app that could work. The stock one is too ugly.
I found out voice dialing works if you update PSS in the Google Play Store, but there is no Bluetooth dialer app yet

Would be better to ask in a Pioneer forum.
The unit you got is too seldom at XDA. Seems that this is a real tablet just with a connector to the head unit.
No one knows what´s in there.

Seriously??? You are kidding us, are you?
A car device without phone call possibility???
I would send this bull**** back wherever it comes from.... sorry, but this is not acceptable.
Just mounting a tablet on some mysterious radio without necessary functionality is not ready for sale.
OMG...
I agree, but other than that the device is great.
Anybody here who already has the device?
