Can't create Backup using Samsung Account option. - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Using Samsung s7 edge U.K. Unbranded variant.
SM-G935F
Android 6.0.1
G935FXXU1BPJG
I've been using the Back up and Reset option in the phones settings to create Backups to my Samsung Account.
For the last few days I keep getting 'Backup Failed' due to server error.
Samsung U.K. Twitter suggest using SmartSwitch but I'm not after a workaround but instead a fix. I've emailed Samsung Uk Support too (awaiting a reply)
I do Backup to my Google Account too
I've tried removing the Samsung Account, re booting and re adding the Samsung Account with no success.
Anyone have any ideas or is it a case of waiting for the 'servers' to come online ?

oh.. same here. Did you tried nougat beta ? I thing it occured right after i went back to mmallow after messing around with beta for couple of days

Hi
No I've not used the Nougat Beta on any way.
After asking around it does seem like this is directly with Samsung.

Same problem here. Thought it was beta related but its not. I have reported this issue in galaxy members app for beta. Maybe someone @ Samsung will wake up and fix it.

Update from Samsung U.K. Support on Twitter.
"Hi. This is an ongoing issue, and we'd recommend that you back up your data using an alternative cloud source, such as Google Drive. You can find instructions on how to back up data here: http://spr.ly/60128zkrC ^RS"

Android Lollipop on Galaxy S5

It seems incomplete on my Galaxy S5 (SM-G900M)...
For example, when I turn down the volume of my phone I do not see the options to turn on/off priority mode.
Also, I do not have the option to make applications sensitive when I go to "Sounds and notifications" (I wanted to do that so I can hide some, but not all my notifications on my Lock Screen).
I've noticed a lot of other features that other S5's have with Lollipop that mine does not have at the moment for some reason.
There's a video on YouTube that covers both things I mentioned above. (Forum won't let me link the video, so just search for "Official Android 5.0 Lollipop on Samsung Galaxy S5 [Review]" if you don't know what I am talking about there).
Sooo, does anyone know what's going on here?
Does anyone have/had the same problem?
Thanks in advance
Bump
Can anybody help me please? :/
Bumping this again.
Sorry if I am being annoying, I just wanted to get this fixed asap >.<
Will stop now if no one still knows :c
May I ask how did you installed Lollipop? I have the same model as yours and I haven't received yet. Mine is from Telcel Mexico SM-G900M. I could test on mine to see if it has the same problem after installling it. Thanks.
I got the same issue on mine. I did an OTA update.
From what carrier and country is your phone? Please.
It's an sm-G900F tele2 Sweden
Sorry for taking a while to answer, I was travelling.
I bought my phone in Brazil (which is the country where I currently live) and my phone carrier is called VIVO.
I did install the update manually. It was the official update though.
I am missing the priority settings on my phone (G900F) as well.
I'm on the newest BOB7 release via Kies from Germany.
Well good to know I am not the only one haha
So does anyone have an idea of what we could do to fix that?
A friend told me to do a factory reset and that it would resolve this issue, but I don't see how it would work. And I'm not that interested to do a reset due to that my phone is encrypted. Otherwise I would have tested this.
I did a factory reset after updating to BOB7, so that solution is not working.

I can't believe no one has a clue about our problem x.x
Well mate i would say re-flash the stock 5.0 lollipop firmware and factory reset that would solve the problem for sure . Download the firmware from sammobile since is the most trusted one . This fix usualy comes with a positive things for me

S7 edge fails to update firmware.

I'm attempting to update my S7 edge which was purchased in Austria via an Austrian carrier, however, i have tried to update it today since a new software update is out, and it says "Failed to update firmware. Visit a Samsung service center.".
Does anyone possibly know why this occurs? If it's helpful, i enabled adoptable storage on my phone, so it might be that?
Using smart switch doesn't give me an update option
Thanks in advance
its updated but something wrong happend in the end i dont think the problem done with the system side..i guess the problem heppend in optimaizing at the end of the update..i know this cuz this happend to me ... u can make sure that the update done succesfully if u go to software info and u will find the android security patch level is 1 october.
but after that i just reflashed the stock software that came with my device and reupdated it and everything is good now

I had a similar problem. A Samsung tech told me to download SmartSwitch for PC (they also have one for mac) and update using the computer. It worked and I now have Nougat on my S7 Edge. BTW, it was slow so be patient .

Samsung Pay (India) not working

So i tried setting up Samsung pay, went through the process of verification through fingerprint and the next screen asks to input a Samsung pin and the keyboard doesn't work and it sits there. Either i have to go back or just stop the application, i cannot do anything else. Also, my phone is not rooted and Knox also works perfectly.
G935FD Indian variant with Baseband version-G935FXXU1DQB1 and build number ending with- DQB0. Can anyone suggest something?
Issue was resolved from Samsung's side. Please delete the thread, Thank you
can you tell us how did you get the issue solved ?

It was an issue with the Samsung members app. When a new update to the members app came, it just started working again.

No Samsung Patch/Update since Aug 1st Security Patch

Hi, my Samsung S7 Edge, SM-G935W8, use to get monthly updates up until a few months ago. It's a Rogers, Canadian carrier, phone but it' unlocked and I use it with Vigrin Mobile Canada. I use to plug it into my computer and use Samsung Switch to update, and occasionally I would get a OTA update but nothing since Aug. Is there something I can do to force a new update? I don't want to root the phone or go to a custom ROM as I use my phone for work, have it encrypted, use Android Pay and RBC Wallet, Secure Folder, and other Samsung apps that I would prefer to stay unaffected.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Same here, have a g935fd, stuck on august security patch. The only thing to do is keep calm and wait patiently for the updates

I thought that the Samsung Switch program was suppose to be able to download/install updates as they became available from Samsung.
December's ending and i am still stuck on aug 1 security patch ... S7 edge SM-G935FD , region PAK.

I suggest you root your phone and install one of the s8 or n8 ported ROMs, which include the newest security patches..
I know i can root and install custom roms with latest security patches, but the problem is that samsung sucks when it comes to updates and especially its way of ignoring some regions/countries totally while providing to some, it really needs to change its priorities.

You can search for listings with official firmware released by Samsung for your device model.
For example (am a new user so link restricted):
www sammobile com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935W8
There are guides on XDA for flashing official firmware. The usual caveats being:
1. Potential loss of data
2. If unbranded then technologies like VoLTE / 4G / RCS may not be supported
3. Scary if it's your first time. Be gentle, take your time, and read the guide
You can flash with Odin in Download mode without voiding warranty because it's signed by Samsung.
Since it's for work you probably have a backup, but if you want to retain your data you can flash your HOME_CSC instead.
Have you contacted your carrier for more info?
Is your device being controlled with MDM policies by your business/enterprise, i.e. managed inhouse?
It seems you use it in public venues so hopefully you are using a VPN or similar for your business.
Good luck!
Just got the update .. a hefty one

New update and that too with V2 of bootloader. Its still to see how it effects on battery and performance, december security patch was indeed very good regarding battery and performance. V2 of bootloader suggests that maybe Oreo update is closer ..

Samsung pay not working on s10 plus g9750 model in Australia

Hi all,
As the title suggests, any ideas what I can try to get it working? I've tried everything. Had it installed at one stage (HK version since it's an imported dual sim version) but there was no add Paypal option. Then I read that I could try deleting cache and app storage and reinstall but now it will not allow me to install update. Just states "failed to download latest version". So now I can't even open to app. Tried sideloading Samsung pay apk and Samsung pay framework and still no luck. Any chance I can get an imported phone working here in Australia?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Did you changed the firmware to another country recently (by installing via Odin)? If yes, you must do a factory reset to use the Samsung Pay.
For me was the only way to make it work. Otherwise it kept giving me this message.

No, I haven't done that yet. How's the difficultly in doing that? Odin easy to use? And there's no way avoiding factory resetting? Thanks for your reply!
PayPal is usually an app in its own right, also use Google Pay instead (I can't use Samsung Pay here in the UK) it's just as good.
And if you bought your phone from Wonda then it does warn you that Samsung Pay doesn't work outside the HK/Chinese territories.

I reckon you cannot do that anymore in a Galaxy S10+ G9750 as its only markets are Hong Kong and China.
