Samsung pay not working on s10 plus g9750 model in Australia - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Hi all,
As the title suggests, any ideas what I can try to get it working? I've tried everything. Had it installed at one stage (HK version since it's an imported dual sim version) but there was no add Paypal option. Then I read that I could try deleting cache and app storage and reinstall but now it will not allow me to install update. Just states "failed to download latest version". So now I can't even open to app. Tried sideloading Samsung pay apk and Samsung pay framework and still no luck. Any chance I can get an imported phone working here in Australia?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Did you changed the firmware to another country recently (by installing via Odin)? If yes, you must do a factory reset to use the Samsung Pay.
For me was the only way to make it work. Otherwise it kept giving me this message.

No, I haven't done that yet. How's the difficultly in doing that? Odin easy to use? And there's no way avoiding factory resetting? Thanks for your reply!

PayPal is usually an app in its own right, also use Google Pay instead (I can't use Samsung Pay here in the UK) it's just as good.
And if you bought your phone from Wonda then it does warn you that Samsung Pay doesn't work outside the HK/Chinese territories.

I reckon you cannot do that anymore in a Galaxy S10+ G9750 as its only markets are Hong Kong and China.

How do I add Samsung Pay (US) to SM-G950FD Dual Sim variant?

Just received my Galaxy S8 Dual Sim - came from Singapore. It comes with Samsung Pay but the Singapore version that doesn't support US based credit/debit cards. Any advice on how to change to US version of Samsung Pay? Is this even possible? I tried to uninstall Samsung Pay and then reinstall from Google Play Store (now using my US login and I'm on AT&T network) but it reinstalls SG variant of Samsung Pay program.
I have a Samsung Gear S3 watch and Samsung Pay installed and works fine on the watch but I gather the watch Pay program is different from the one on the phone.
Android Pay works fine so not critical for us though I like getting the points from Samsung when I use Samsung Pay.
Thanks!
If you don't mind me asking which seller did you get the FD version from? Seems mine is stuck at customs as of now sadly. I'll be looking into this as well when u receive mine
Sent from my ZTE A2017U using Tapatalk
I ordered it off Amazon. The seller was NGPSTORE - have bought from them in past. Professional operation and have never had any issues with their phones.
I'm going to message you to try different things.

From what I've been told by Samsung is that Samsung pay is only available on the US model phones, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon etc.
Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
It also comes as part of Singapore phones but is limited to adding cards based in Singapore. They've expanded Samsung pay to several countries now but it seems each has it's own local app versus a common app everyone.

Eh.
Phones sold in Qatar (and the MENA region) come with Samsung Pay UAE which is NOT a system app: ie: you can uninstall it completely.
If your phone has the same model of the MENA variant (see my signature for S8+, change to 950FD for S8), then install the UAE firmware with odin, delete the included SP UAE app, and install the US SP app.

Did this work for you Model Number is the same Build Number is NRD90M G950FXXU1AQDG. I deleted the SG app and tried to reinstall the US app V2.7.03 but it just hangs upon opening it.

Try this https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/samsung-pay/samsung-pay-2-7-15-release/
When I install 2.7.03 (the most recent US apk), it just hangs at the first screen and won't move beyond the "start" button. I gave the app all permissions but it still hangs.
2.9.6 (latest version) requires a Korean SIM (no joy there). I've been reading the S7 forum and didn't find anything that worked but it's a long threat (100+ pages) - and I may have missed something important. You can't uninstall pay framework or even roll back updates (you can a device admin error) so stuck with that version. I tried installing 2.8.3 and 2.7.15 also - no joy. 2.8.3 also requires a Korean SIM and 2.7.15 starts up, tells you there is now update to download and then fails on the download

I'm on the UAE firmware, and confirmed 2.7.03 works after deleting the placeholder included in the rom.
Flash the UAE firmware (for your version) and do it.
Any idea where I can find the UAE firmware for the 950FD? I have looked and can't find it. Thanks for the suggestion - will try once i can find the FW files.
I bought the international variant as well and Samsung Pay worked out of the box for me. Strange. Dual SIM variant too.
Where did you get it from? Do you know if it originated in Singapore? I was told units that come from locations with out Samsung pay come "naked" but if it comes from a country with Samsung pay (like Singapore), it only wants to work with the Singapore version. If you are able, can you go into settings, apps, and report the version number for both Samsung pay and the Samsung pay framework? That way I can compare to mine. Thanks

Bought it off eBay. Country of origin appears to be from Vietnam but CSC is Singapore. Samsung Pay was partially pre-installed (advertisement essentially) and required full download from Galaxy Apps. Version is 2.7.15. Framework is 2.7.47
Framework 2.7.47 and App 2.7.15 is the latest for Singapore phones but the app opened fine but when i tried to add my AMEX Card (issued in the USA), I got a failure message (and the website for Samsung Pay Singapore says only AMEX cards based in SG can be added).
I happen to also have a Singapore-based AMEX card and that worked fine but that is not the card I regularly use - my regular card is the AMEX based in the US and Samsung Pay wouldn't accept that card. Curious if your did. Thanks - appreciate your sending along the details

I have an AMEX coming soon, I'll reply back on how that goes but 3 us credit companies and a us bank worked fine
The UAE firmware doesn't seem to be added to SamMobile or any other website yet :/
Thanks for letting me know. I'm still looking for the UAE firmware too. I only tried to add an AMEX card as my ATM card (a visa card) only allows one instance and I had it setup for android pay.
I got access to another phone (also from Singapore) and was able to add my BofA debit visa card without problem though it rejected one of my credit cards (like AMEX said it was not issued by a supported bank/issuer) so it would appear that some cards will work and some won't.
Having updated Samsung pay framework on my daily driver to version 2.71.51 in an attempt to get US Samsung Pay (v2.7.03) working it won't allow me uninstall the update (says the program is locked by a device administrator) to roll the framework back to 2.7.47 (which the SG phone uses) so i can reinstall Samsung pay (Singapore) from the app store (v 2.7.15). The 2.7.15 installs and opens but then keeps trying to install an update that keeps failing. If anybody has any ideas on how to rollback pay framework so I can get the Singapore version working again, I'm all ears. That said, Android Pay works fine as does Samsung pay on my gear s3 so not a dealbreaker/critical if I don't have Samsung pay on the phone working.

G950FD from Iran (THR) with pre-installed Persian/Iranian Calendar

I bought an unlocked G950FD which turns out to be CSC THR (part of OXM) so should mean it's from Iran. I have found it generic enough in almost every way to be used internationally (in English) with two noticeable exceptions that i'm trying to solve.
1) there is pre-installed Persian Calendar in the OS which appears after the Gregorian date on the AOS and lock screen. I also noticed this extra date appearing on the Samsung Calendar app under the western date, but i don't use this app at all so can easily ignore. The AOS and lock screen is seen all the time and would displays: "MON, JUNE 5 (KHOR 15)". I looked through every settings on the phone and many forums online, and there is no software way to turn this off.
I thought a potential solution would be to replace this stock ROM with another region since any of the multi-CSC OXM firmwares should be compatible with the phone. So I tried to flash another region using Odin. I tried Singapore (SIN and STH) and completely reset/wiped the phone two separate times. However, despite flashing a large (almost 6GB) file onto the phone it still remains in THR when i looked in settings. I guess I misunderstood the purpose of different firmware regions, I thought i would be changing my phone's existing firmware to another region and get a different set of default apps and localization behavior. But the Persian date is still there on all the same screens.
Am I flashing the rom incorrectly? Is there some setting that i omitted that would give me the desired result of a Singapore OS? Any other ways to change CSC and get rid of unwanted parts of a regional firmware?
2) Another problem is when i receive calls on my local sim card, the phone number shows up without the country code, but if i store my numbers (on Google contacts) in "+<country code> <phone number>" format then the contact is not linked to the incoming call.
Apparently this is fairly common with international phones being used in another market. There is a workaround where i can edit my numbers on google to not have any numerical country codes but instead use the flag drop-down menu on google to indicate country associated with the number. I'm ok with that solution but is there another way? Would flashing a regional firmware that is my location solve this? The region that i intend to use the phone is not part of the OXM multi-CSC list of countries since they only sell the snapdragon variant here.
I would like to find solutions that would avoid root and custom roms, but if that is the only option here, i am not against going down that route.
Thanks a lot in advance.
My eventual solution and what i've learned.
So as i described above, i tried to flash many different versions of G950FD or G950F firware with multi-CSC OXM, but never saw my CSC change from THR. Nothing changed on my phone despite installing large files through odin which was always confusing to me. For the record, i tried BTU (UK), STH (Singapore), and SIN (Singapore) which are all part of the OXM.
I learned from another forum that the sim-card installed matters, so i was just trying different non-middle-east regions by picking UK or Singapore but my actual home region does not support this model/cpu variant. I don't have a sim-card from any OXM regions, only Hong Kong and US ones.
Then i found an old Australian (Optus) sim card from a trip and found a G950F firmware version with CSC OPS on Updato. Not part of CSC OXM but same PDA/Phone version and was told it's safe to flash. When i flashed that firmware with the AU sim card installed, i got the AU OS and all the old regional apps were gone. I got some Australian ones but nothing i can't uninstall. My caller ID problem also seem to be fixed. So i consider the problem fixed.
In all of this, the PDA version numbers were always the same (AQDG), so i'm still a bit unclear as to what the CSC file is specifying and doing.
Am i correct to assume that multi-CSC OXM firmware contained regional apps/settings for all the various regions but without a sim card installed to tell it which one to pick, it kept selecting the factory region of THR? And when i flashed the Optus firmware, did i really need the sim-card installed? Would it have changed the firmware to OPS because it's outside the multi-CSC OXM group?
You live in Hong Kong, right ?
I do too, and have a UAE S8, and Samsung Pay doesn't work.
Does your working around things allow you to use Pay, or you get stuck on the splash screen as well ?

Yes i live in HK, so with the AU Optus Firmware I got a AU version of Samsung Pay with all AU ads and suggested businesses. I can get past the splash and login using my normal Samsung Account, which shouldn't have a region. BUT so far i haven't had any success adding any of my HK credit cards, i assume it's a version compatibility issue. There is no way to pick which regional version of Samsung Pay on the Play Store, so i guess it looks at your phone's origin to determine that part of the app.
I am not that keen to use Samsung Pay, but of course interested to know if it is possible. It says to call the banks to get my credit cards added, so maybe there is still a chance and i will post if i do succeed.
Do you think Samsung Pay is particularly good for HK? Would using Android Pay be comparable here? I'm not that experienced with mobile payment apps in the past. Seems like the membership card storage function will still work on my Samsung Pay so at least i have that and can slim down the wallet a bit.
Hey there buddy,
Finally found a thread that represents my problem also, in my case i have a s8 G950FD that shows the same thing on my lockscreen, by me it shows (KHOR18)!
Is there any way around it, i mean a fix?? I would greatly appreciate any help
Yes that's the Iranian calendar date so the day will increment everyday. Khor is abbrev for the current month.
Yes I have a solution (read my second post in thread) but involves flashing with a sim card and 950f or 950fd firmware of the same region as the sim card. You will need to reset and erase phone data.
If you need help flashing stock firmware there is a long thread on this forum and where I found the answer about how the sim card installed might make difference.
What region/sim are you currently trying to use your s8?

Hey there again,
Thank you very much for the time. I am in SE Europe, to be more precise Republic of Kosovo. My SIM is from Kosovo ( we are considered i believe to be in Europe carrier wise)
I do need help flashing the phone as i have no experience whatsoever i just recently switched from Iphone to Samsung, this being said i must also mention the fact that i would definitely need help. I dont want to mess up the phone i just got it like 2 days ago
Things to consider:
- You can flash both 950F and 950FD firmware on your 950FD.
- You need to find your desired firmware. And that region needs to match your sim card, use Updato or SamMobile but the firmware package is a >3GB file and takes a while to download. Make sure you only look for versions for model 950F or FD.
- You will need to download Odin and Samsung usb drivers to flash the firmware onto your phone. Follow the thread "OFFICIAL STOCK Firmware-update (Odin) thread Samsung GALAXY S8 SM-G950F" for the guide.

If you decided to go the "SIM card CSC" method then follow this step by step:
https://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37711
But I personally think you should do it through flashing a firmware with odin but properly and pay attention to step 6:

Hope they help you resolve your issues.
Good luck.

Yes, if you are changing country/code of CSC, then the system needs to recalculate the partitions.
And don't forget no short cuts! Every step should be done.
Good luck.

Hey Peeps,

samsung s8 UAE, how to make spay work in us

I know this has been asked before but i haven't been able to find a thread that matches my situation. I just bought a samsung s8 international version from UAE. I live in the US. When i first opened samsung pay stock app, it said "only available in the UAE". i tried deleting it and installing it form play store but that didn't work. Than i tried installing singapore firmware but for some reason, it said "only available in the UAE" again, even in the about phone tab in the settings, it said the device was from UAE, even after i used odin to flash singapore firmware. But even if i had been successful in flashing singapore firmware it wouldn't have helped because i realized that you wouldn't be able to use US amex cards on singapore SPay. than from reccomendations i tried installing 2.7.03 apk and that worked, i was able to open it but again, i was not able to use US AMEX which is my primary card. Also i noticed in the 2.7.03 app the rewards were all for UAE. so i think it was still a UAE app and amex is not supported in UAE. I'm kind of getting frustrated right now with samsung and why they overcomplicate SPay so much. does anyone else have any ideas?? thanks for the help
the only thing you need to install is samsung pay version 2.8.03 from apkmirror. dont touch framework.

People simply might not know which is why they haven't replied. I can add my two cents but I'm not really sure.
930V is the version of the S7, a USA model. It might be that as the US model, it isn't compatible with samsung pay outside the US. It could also be that as a US model you can't get updates without being on a US carrier network.
Another possibility is that it's not an S7 at all and that it's a fake phone made to look and behave like an S7. Boot the phone into download mode, as download mode phone information can't be faked. See what it says in there.
But that's just a guess, I don't know for sure.
You can use Odin to change the firmware so long as it's a compatible stock firmware (you'd have to be looking at the Snapdragon firmware) which you can find at sammobile.com

its not face it tried g930u rom installed every thing good but little bit network problem network weak and Samsung pay is international not India version
Samsung pay may be an international service, but to work it still requires collaboration between telcos and samsung.
You have a US model phone that is not officially supported outside of the US, and is not officially supports by Indian telcos. That is probably why it won't work. Whatever Samsung and Indian telcos put in place to support Samsung pay likely doesn't include US model phones being used outside the US, with a non-US SIM.
The 930V also uses a different modem to the international 930F variant, which means you won't be connecting to all the same network bands as the 930F variant, which will affect your network speed and potentially any telco services such as VoLTE and Samsung pay.
There is a reason 930V's sell for cheaper than the international 930F variant.
so there is no solution for this phone
I have a AUS version of S7 and I can confirm that I am able to use it in India for Samsung Pay
Why dont you manually update it to Android 7. This will have latest Samsung Pay installed and you should be able to use it in India
Please head to Sammobile and search firmware for SM-G930V
Australia and India both use the international variant G930F, so I'd expect it to work.

Samsung Galaxy S8 G950U - FRP locked

Hi. I purchased a preowned Samsung Galaxy S8 and I am not able to get it running. The phone has factory reset protection and it asks me for owners google account. The seller does not want to provide me with that info because of privacy issues. He said that he deactivated that option through google account, but it did not help. I've tried all the methods that I found on YouTube and through google but none of them seem to work. - the "two finger" method turns on voice assistance but does not enter Tapatalk menu
- the setting method does not work wither because I do not have the "help & feedback" menu
- others like installing SideSync on PC and connecting phone through usb, nor any other that I found online did work
I also tried to call Samsung support but they are asking $70 for unlocking and I would need a proof of purchase with IMEI address, but the seller did not include IMEI, anyways its to expensive.
I went to some phone repair stores but they were asking from proof of purchase from Samsung authorized store, they did not accept eBay...

- the "two finger" method turns on voice assistance but does not enter Tapatalk menu

have the previous owner call google. they can track the IMEI and verify the previous owners credentials allowing them to release the FRP lock and making you the full complete owner now

discussing FRP unlock methods outside of googles prescribed methods are against XDA rules. Please refrain from discussing things of that nature.
