A while ago, I rooted and flashed CM13 onto my OnePlus 2 and got Benschholds Kernel on there to overclock the GPU. However, I noticed that it was slowed down from before flashing a rom. I would get Antutu Benchmark of 80,000 before the flash and after I would get 60,000 without a custom kernel. When I flashed stock OxygenOS back on it, it slowed down to 40,000. There is visual lag in the animations as well, and the battery life has decreased a lot as well. Is there any way to fix this? Do I need to get rid of TWRP or something?

Stock 5.1.1 recently flashed onto my n7 2012 after a while of not playing around with all the custom ROMs. About a year because my Nexus 5 took over as daily driver.
Now I'd like to use it again, what ROM would you suggest that is the most stable and fastest? No need for the extra frills.
I was on 5.1.1 stock and was desperate.... then I tried couple or ROMs luckily one of them was Chroma. It is not as fast as 4.4.4 but ALMOST as fast. I also use M kernel and that way I can overclock a bit. Really, it is not as fast as 4.4.4, only a BIT slower sometimes, I will not lie or exaggerate, but it makes N7 usable again! I dunno about other ROMS, tried Cyanogenmod and it wasn't stable. THen I found Chroma, and I never changed. Really stable and fast. Also supports LAYERS, so you can customize if you're into that....
hello guys
i flashed resurrection remix 5.5.9 build 7.3 on my zenfone 5 yesterday..the link to post is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/development/resurrection-remix-zenfone-5-t3185403
after flashing i was facing very low performance issues.the entire ui lagged a lot and benchmark scores reduced to half as compared to stock rom...i had flashed xposed also...
i contacted tank0142(coz he posted the rom) he told me to turn of ambient display ,i did so and rebooted, after reboot the performance improved and became like stock rom,but after few hours the performance dropped again....i also noticed that while running antutu benchmark in 3d test, the test run super smooth in beginning but after 2-3 sec the frame rate drops to just3-4 fps......
anyone please help...
Update=I flashed Xanwar kernel and the performance improved a bit. But it's still laggy
If you want a RR version without lag, search for build 7.0
After this build, all others have lags... Also, this ROM has been abandoned.
I am gonna unlock my bootloader and flash custom rom as i need to overclock the cpu and suggestions?My.main.reason for that is games.coz after 5 mins of gaming the game starts to lag but for starting 5 mins its smooth.
You can try some light and smooth ROMs like Invicta, AICP and use the ElemenentalX kernel. (LineageOS base)

Invicta's desclaimer says no to elemenatal x,moreover any tips for overclocking?
Don't use custom roms, IMO all based on Lineage have issues. Use stock ROM, EX kernel (with a kernel manager), root with SuperSU beta, not the normal one, see the threads here.
Also, gaming will overheat any device, do you have a case on your phone? That impedes the heat transfer and overheats the CPU, kills the battery...

Thanks,so i won't flash custom rom (i agree with u)i play with case removed, also another reason i am eager for ex kernal is.that i have image retention problem so i have to lower the rgb values too.i just do short gaming of 15-20 mins and i want that to be good.currently it starts disappointing me after 5 mins. Moreover my friends k6 power which has SD425 runs game more smoothly...thats a 9k phone while i have a 16k phone.
I started having retention after the Nougat update. Coincidence? Maybe. Putting the RGB values to 240 on all channels fixed it and is not visible any difference from 256.
I don't game, but setting the default minimum BigCPU number to one instead of two (busy down at 33% and busy up at 68%) helped my phone to be cold permanently. Interactive governor.
Hello, I have a question, I have a Moto G4 XT1621, which in STOCK works correctly and smoothly, but when installing a CUSTOM ROM, a LAG and an intense BATTERY DRAIN is presented, I pass this with RR 7.1.2 and RR 8.1, in the same way install Mokee this worked normally, but it consumed a lot of battery, and in the three ROMS the phone was heated more than normal, now well in Kernel Auditor in the three ROMS I noticed that 3 more frequent nuclei with name "BIG", they were detained and even if they were activated they stopped again causing the above described.
My question is why and if someone else has happened to this type of problem and what solutions there are.
Like when I install a custom kernel, the cores remain deactivated and with the lowest frequency, this happens to me so much in stock with any rom

Did u disable live display?
SD 617 is a heater and heats up a lot... only stock ROM is the coolest.. after that, i found Invicta OS. RR both nougat and oreo are good given you use Invicta/EX kernel for nougat or you use frostbitten kernel for oreo version of it. I do not remember other ROMs, since i have tried too many.
custom tweaks that you can apply are... having atleast 1 big cluster core and 1 small cluster core active, as it results in less heating, if needed you can make 1 big cluster and 2 small cluster or 2 big cluster and 0 small cluster.. find the combination that works on your phone the besT! Also, give sometime for the ROM to settle before testing for battery and heating issues!
Deactivating live display and night light on oreo ROMs result in less lag!
i have tried all the oreo roms both 64 bits and 32 bits (with and without Gapps) tried changing kernel profile to performance (also tried different kernels) as well but status bar and recents were lagging horribly and i dont know whats the reason, the only rom that ran smoothly ware Bootlegger and Aosip (but these 2 also had lags here and there sometimes)
So the we will never get a good custom rom? The phone came out 2 years ago and still no custom rom that can match or beat the stock ROM.

InvictaOS was very good(better imo compared to stock) followed by official ressurection remix
Custom ROMs can not match the stability and smoothness of stock ROMs. Stock ROMs are made only for the specific device/model, hence it is perfectly tuned and optimized according to the device hardware requirement. On the other hand, custom ROMs are made universal (maintainers pick it up and compile it) which may or may not go well with your device.
Recently my phone broke. I found my old S5 (G900M, Snapdragon) in the garage and installed Lineage on it.
I'm pretty sure there's something terribly wrong with the battery. In use, it goes from 100% to 0% in an hour, and a bunch of apps have glitches. Not to mention that it's slow when browsing with FIrefox, and it likes to crash Firefox a lot.
So, I'm hoping that changing roms will make it better in some way.
But I also didn't do any research before installing Lineage, and I didn't install any kernel. I just installed Lineage because it's the one I know, I don't even know if running a newer android version and/or AOSP rom has advantages or disadvantages.
In an old thread, I heard that a stock, deodexed and debloated MM rom and the Boeffla kernel is the best way to go, and I had my eye on vincom's SuperLite MM Rom (still no idea on what kernel to use),
But I'd really like to have TwiFucker and I THINK it only supports LSposed, which requires Android 8.1 minimum.
I'm also used to having Magisk as the root, but that's a minor issue.
I'm accepting any and all suggestions, even if it's to stay on Lineage.
I'm also accepting suggestions of what governor to use, although I don't know what that is at all.
Please do link your recommendations though.
Thank you in advance!
