Hey, i got a weird notification issue. The animation seems to be off but I have no idea what app causes it. It seems that the status bar icons overlap over the notification. Currently on the t-mobile v20. it happens randomly.. I had gmail, sms and hop spot on before this happen. also had random game notifications. anybody seeing this?? You can see it more on landscape mode.

Mine does stuff like this every now and then. A reboot fixes it, don't know the cause though. Doesn't happen enough to care.

Okay, so I've noticed that on both my lock screen and Clock app, that my alarm clocks don't show up as the Human Readable time format. For example, I have an alarm set for 6am tomororow (1/12/2010), and when the lock screen is showing it has the alarmclock icon and show "1263294000000" next to it, which is the epoch time for 1/12/2010 6:00:00 am. It also does this in the clock app on the app's home screen, but if I go into the alarms screen it shows up fine.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Weird. Mine shows up in a normal time. I've tried looking through the clock app, and system settings and couldn't find a way to replicate your issue.
Since yours is rooted it may have something to do with what youve flashed to it so far.
Or maybe not cause im rooted with cyan and just tried and it appeared fine

Lol. Yah. I've got a few friends around here that have basically the same setup. Not really an issue, more a nuisance. But I seriously don't get it. I'll probably try and reset later today and recreate it. I was just curious if any one else noticed this.
Strange.
I have another question for the clock app:
Is there a way to turn off the charging light and the backlight on the capacitive buttons when in the dimmed clock app mode? The screen is actually quite nice and readable in the dark but the bright lights next to it are annoying / wash the screen out some.
Maybe it's something in Locale settings? That's where I'd look.

Trust me, I went through just about every possible 'setting' i could possibly think of. I'm assuming it has something to do with a program i have installed. I haven't had the time to do a reset yet, but plan on giving it a shot later.
Here's what I know though, its not normal, and its not because of root. Seems no one else is having this issue. lol, WTF.
I just noticed this recently as I don't normally change my lockscreen wallpaper. But now, everytime I do so, the device freezes and the only way out is to remove the battery
I'm not sure when this happened but the only thing I can think of that might led to this is that I installed and then uninstalled PocketShield. Anybody else has this issue? Or, anybody knows how to resolve this? Any suggestions?
Thanks for any help.
Ive had this happen to me more than a couple times, with many different roms.
Bottom line is that it's a bug in Windows Mobile.

But it did not happen before. I used to change the lockscreen wallpaper a lot and never had the freezing. It's only now and I'm suspecting that Pocketshield is the culprit as it has something to do with lockscreen. But thanks for the feedback.
If it's a bug, that means no solution at all?
Basically my non-Google apps don't have their notifications coming through on my phone. Facebook is one of the effected apps but a whole slew of other apps are affected as well. What is causing this? I restarted my phone and the issue still persist. I'm super frustrated.
Is "show notifications" enabled?

in each app? yes they are on in each app. is there an overall setting on the phone i should check out as well? I should add the notifications aren't showing up in the notifcation bar.
Rom/kernel ?
I'm locked an stock. haha

Were the notifications coming through before? On my N4 the notifications work fine for 98% of the time. Once in a while when the phone is on vibrate the notifications come through in the bar but the phone doesn't vibrate. A reboot usually solves it for me, you might have to factory reset.. which sucks. Yes factory resets solve it all but we can't be factory resetting our phones all the time.
I hope 4.2.2 fixes all those bugs
Hey guys,
I have this minor problem where the lockscreen to homescreen animation (not the CRT animation) went missing after you you open the camera app from the lockscreen (swiping to the right). This is present since 4.3. Not sure about 4.2 though.
Any idea to fix it? or is there anyone that can upload a framework-res.apk that fixes this minor issue?
I'm in odexed N4 Kit Kat. Only modification done to the phone was editing framework-res.apk to make the navbar and status bar transparent in the lockscreen.
Bump.
Just want to confirm, am I the only with this issue?

I had never noticed it before but after trying it seems I can consistently reproduce this. I'm on 4.3.
The animation remains broken until I reboot it again.

Thanks for the feedback, I reported it to Google before but it seems that they only read codes rather than complaints. Anyone know how to express this issue in logcat maybe?
Can you post the link to the Google issue?

Ok,
This is driving me nuts. Overnight my contacts and phone colors changed by themselves. The colored tiles for each contact etc changed and they are very light colored. Almost screwed up looking. I could not find any settings to fix this. In an attempt to fix it, I updated my Essential Phone to 9.0 via OTA and the weird colors followed the update and are still there.
I tried enabling developer mode and manually putting the phone into the "dark" theme, and that still doesn't seem to fix it. What happened? Has anyone had this happen?
I can't find anything about it on google, but it looks terrible and its driving me crazy.
Attached screenshots.
material2 update, get used to it i guess, every google app and lots of mainstream 3rd party going that route

Haha
I have the same issue - it looks like a Google update (without asking for a permission), but I did not find any fix for it so far
The only way how to get rid of those strange colors seems to be to add a picture to the contact, but do you want to do it for ALL contacts...?
Could you, please let me know if/when you will find a better solution?
Thanks,
Maros

Google ask permission, lol they are updating material design. They can and do change things you know.
Turns out they can enable this server side these days, so you could have installed the requisite update a week ago.
Use substratum
There is this https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/08/27/google-teases-dark-mode-phone-app-play-store-update-notes/ but who knows when it will be available and what it will look like with the dark mode applied.
Am I the only one who likes those new colors better ?

it looks a bit "girly"
it seems that we will have to wait for dark mode to change it...
