So I'm on the new 7.1.1 public release. All working well. I've made the appropriate edits to the build prop for assistant (ro.product.model=Pixel XL & ro.opa.eligible_device=true) and have cleared the data on the google app.
I'm still not getting assistant. A long press of home brings up the old (normal) cards and search and such.
What am I dong wrong?
I'm having the same problem. And i flashed the pixel mod. And I also flashed the pixel mod, did not solve
bump
Try this .. works well for me through the DPs and now on the official version.
sadly.... no dice. app installed fine and what not... but a data clear and reboot resulted still in the google now page rather than assistant.

1. The camera has many additional functions such as hands free, ISO mode, etc. But I really had no idea how to toggle these functions to use as I all see is seemingly a stock camera app. (Same happened across build 6 and 7, I wiped cache and dalvik, flashed the rom, and AIO addons)
2. Google search FC in every attempt to use.
Refresh the zips is not helpful and this is the only place I know of to voice out the issues I had...
update: problem 2 solved by uninstalling, reboot, and resinstalling the app from play store, but I really don't get how to use advance features brought by the rom. I can't search nowhere to find the way and the Q&A on the official page saying to look for the timer option from the circle menu doesn't apply to my case.. why?
[Update] Took the phone to Verizon and they said the phone had no serial number. It just read 'fffffffffffff'. New one is being shipped.
Ok, I'm throwing a hail-mary in hopes someone can help with this.
I'm having a problem in which I can't get the Play Store to work. No matter what ROM is loaded, KK or LP, it's the same. Play Store gives a "Check your connection and try again" with a retry button. Also Hangouts hangs on a "Signing In" screen and Google Now bypasses the "Yes I'm In" setup and displays no cards. Gmail works, Youtube works, pretty much everything else works.
Things I've tried:
- Clearing cache on Google Play, Google Play Services, and Framework
- Verified Time and Date
- Flashing a stock rom
- Flashing a LP rom
- Gone back to stock with KDZ and TOT methods
- Sideloading Play store APK
- Clearing hosts file
- Reloaded various gapps versions

So yeah, I'm ready to snap this thing in half so hopefully somewhere someone knows what the hell is wrong with this thing.

Hello,
I just upgraded from Kitkat 4.4.2 to Lollipop 5.0.1 via Kies. The phone was rooted and became unrooted, of course. Everything went fine with the upgrade and re-rooting after some trouble shooting.
However, I noticed, that after auto-update of Google Play services, that those would always stop working after reboot. Before that update, everything was fine. So I did a factory reset, and even flashed the unrooted version again, but this did not help for long since Google Play services would start crashing again after the next update.
My Lolipop 5.0.1 version is I9505XXUHOB7, the working stock version of Google Play services is 6.5.something, while the version that I got via auto-update is the newest 7.0.99. After some backup restoring and factory resetting I finally figured out that I could revert Google Play services to stock version after removing the device admin setting, and flash any version from apkmirror.com. Now I know that all versions of Google Play services above 7.x and newer definitely *will* crash on my S4 with the new Lollipop.
Does anybody know about this? As I wrote, this happens on a clean unrooted install after factory reset as well. The last working version of Google Play services for me is com.google.android.gms-6.7.76_(1745988-438)-6776438-minAPI21. Older versions will not crash, but I will keep messages that Maps, Gmail or such things require a newer version. Now I am wondering which update of those apps will break my phone again...
Google will automatically restore settings related to your device when you sign in to your Google Play account, thus a factory reset does nothing here. You need to wipe Google Play Services' data, preferably after the update to the latest version. Then reboot and see if anything changes.
Thx for the reply, but I when the phone asks, I always deny to store anything on Google servers. I have my own backups. And, it worked with the initial install and only stopped working after the Google Play services update. Would that not mean that every user must be affected? I read a lot that Google Play services stop working recently, but no apparent explanation.
Edit: I just noticed that, without me doing anything, Google Play services got auto-updated to the faulty new version again, crashing again. Very annoying. I tried the solution with deleting all data, but that helped noting. I reverted to the last functioning version manually.
Is there a way to prevent this auto-update?
Just had a chat with Samsung Support (there seems to be no way to officially address this issue with Google directly). They were not aware of the problem until now and walked me through a couple of steps. Unfortunatelly, nothing helped. They promised to address the issue to Samsung development. Hope this helps, but small hope it is...
So tonight I tried the new Cm13 that got updated, doing a full wipe. All went good after a bit of testing, finding that the camera bug I already knew about was there, but after installing a few of my apps that I had before at the same time I tried installing some unofficial ones from .apks, Google Services Framework started crashing and my launcher, Trebuchet also did, so as the settings when I tried getting into the apps screen to try wiping data and cache for the settings app. So I got stuck there. Luckily I had a backup and succesfully restored to my last ROM with most of my data back. I did try anything I could think of to stop the crashing, except flashing another Gapps package. I did try reflashing the same with no success to fix the crashes. On the thread it recommended the Nano package because that provided you with the option to hold home button to Screen Search...
Thank you for any answers. BTW I also tried wiping those apps data trough Titanium Backup with no succes, again. :crying:
How do I stop Google Framework Services and settings (when entering app management screen) from crashing?

Hello,
I have a problem with the google application, the google assistant to be exact. In Settings- Voice- Voice Match : Say "Ok Google" any time is greyed out and I can't enable it.
I've done everything : clear cache data of Google App, uninstalled the google app and then installed a new version, an older version. Installed as an system app, as an user app. NOTHING works.
It worked sometimes but after restart of the phone it not retain the voice match, and have to do it again, but now it doesn't work at all, regardless of what I do.
Can someone help me?
P.S. I'm on rooted Superman ROM, I have disabled S-Voice and I don't want to clean flash the ROM again.
On my Stock rooted Android 6 Galaxy Tab S. Works flawlessly.
Thank you!
