First of all, great thanks for your work. I'm one of those who are still in LP because of the lack of fastboot comands in MM and don't want to lose TWRP, is there any way to update to this latest version of stock MM without losing TWRP + Root?
I've been waiting Alcatel to fix the problem of no recording phone calls, and now as it seems is working again after this november update is time to get MM on my beloved 6045Y.
Should we wipe something?
I tried to install the update with twrp 3.0.0-1 and it failed.
The message is :
EMMC:/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/boot:-------
Has unexpected contents.
My firmware is 6045Y 6.0.1 Europe EU4 by you.
My phone is rooted. I've systemless xposed framework installed.
Thanks for your help.
Does anyone have a link to either a changelog or a feature list for each update? My usual excellent Google-fu seems to be falling short and I can find anything.
All the last update said was that it would improve security and usability. That's pretty vague
sent from a phone running a ROM
I'm on MM with systemless root and it fails with FlashFire too (unable to mount some partition). Any idea on how to apply this OTA?
Does anyone have any instructions how to install this? I'm on stock 5.0.2.
This OTA update is a genuine one.
You must have a genuine and non rooted firmware MM on your 6045Y to apply this update
So, don't work on any custom rom, include mine and Alek ones
-------------------------
A small tip:
-backup your files and apps
-flash your 6045Y with Mobile Upgrade Q
-apply ota update
-flash twrp with "alcatel flasher by decker.su"
-root your phone with supersu zip
----------------------

So, if i follow your small tip steeps, i could have without any doubt this latest MM stock ROM with TWRP? It's indispensable for me to have TWRP + root, thanks in advance mate.
I'm incapable of doing a backup of recovery & boot with "alcatel flasher by decker.su" as i state in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70001742&postcount=54
@murigny64 to install this update you just need to use the stock recovery right?
Thanks in advance.

[Problem] Recovery loop
Alcatel One Touch idol 3 - 6045Y
Recovery loop while doing OTA update
Tried...
1.Wipe Cache, Reboot...(loop)
2.Wipe data/factory reset, Reboot...(loop)
3.Update from ADB...
3.1. used different ROMs...(nothing works)
- getting footer is wrong, signature verification failed.
3.2. used a update.zip from this forum(partial works)
- got upto 50% updates, but after it shows
-this is for "this finger print": but your device has "TCL/idol3/idol3? 5.0.2/LRX22G/v7ST2-0?user/release-keys"
Yet to try,
I think i need a update.zip or a ROM for above mentioned Fingerprint.
Information about my device:

built.id - LRX22G

I think they rolled out all the OTAs for GB at the same time, I got mine earlier today but didn't notice.
PS: Its my birthday, thank you Motorola!
Just got notified of the pending update on my retGB model, can't do the update just at the moment but fingers crossed it fixes the notification problem some people (and me) have with the phone.

Hello to EVERYONE!!!
Here a guide on how to receive 5.1.1 (G920F ONLY)
1.Download this firmware

3.Reboot to recovery
4.Wipe data twice
5.Wipe cache
6.Reboot
7.Check for updates

Update on how to get the right CSC (XEF) for the 5.1.1. update to show up
Here is how to change the CSC code to XEF (absolutely needed in order to get the 5.1.1. update)
- install & root with your preferred way ( [ROOT] PingPongRoot ***S6 & S6 Edge Root Tool*** or CF-Auto-Root
- install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ (paid version). Now in order to make the "Change CSC" option you will need to update the Superuser to "Superuser v2.49"
Here is how to update the SuperSU:
- Download the zip file at http://download.chainfire.eu/740/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip
- Extract and get the Superuser.apk file from the 'common' folder inside it.
- Install Superuser.apk, it will ask to update the binaries to the latest version. Let it update.
- Reboot the phone.
One of the users noted (related to using the tool Phone INFO ★Samsung★ (paid version) to change the CSC code) that: "I finally changed the CSC with this steps: rooted with Ping Pong, installed Phone Info (thank you for this app), and SuperSu 2.94, changed CSC, error on Recovery, Wipe data factory reset in Recovery, flashed the phone with Odin. Tested with 2 G925F phones."
I can confirm I followed the same procedure and it worked!

Hi man. If I am on Build Number: G920FXXU1AOCV, my start screen with Telekom ( I have waranty) will disapear after flashing your rom? I must do the "Emergency software recovery and initialization" with Smart Switch before flashing this with Odin to not get the bootloop problem? What is the problem with CSC and waranty?
Thanx!

Read my post twice. In order to be able to get the 5.1.1. (at least for now) you need the XEF CSC (France). If others can confirm that they can get 5.1.1. without the XEF CSC that indeed an update / downgrade to your suggested firmware (an other as well) will work just fine. Until then CSC change is needed in such procedure requires root (unfortunately)

Rooting with Ping Pong will not trip Knox, so you will not lose warranty.
I think they should have one version of firmware for all ..or even one s6 and one s6 edge ...not so many variants. ..

New bootloader blocks downgrading, be careful installing 5.1.1 OTA!
Kernel built after May 15th (including some 5.0.2 and all 5.1.1) have PingPong xploit fixed. Be cautious when installing OTA these days and FlashFire might be your best shot of upgrading systems. i do not recommend to install 5.1.1.
This guide does not offer a guarantueed, immediate update. It simply does flash a French firmware, since this is the first EU country to receive OTA for G920F, which is fine. BUT the way updates are, they will not come to everyone immediately. So it can last up to a week, before the OTA finally arrives and you should tell guys, before they are forced to setup their S6 from scratch and end up frustrated.

OK, but from what I can tell the update is available for all the devices with that firmware via OTA; at the moment they are upgrading to 5.1.1. Why do you consider it can take a week?

Since this happens for all OTA`s, they are incremental. So some users get it on day 1, others on day 2, other even later. It`s like that since ages. Manufactureres use this careful way of rolling out upgrades to avoid issues, in case OTA includes a major bug.

No, regular update is not possible if you are rooted. You will need to do dirty flash of stock ROM and then update your phone.
Hit thanks if I helped!!!

I can confirm flashing OTA's with the offical version of TWRP works!
So I downloaded the official version of twrp from the site and flashed
Downloaded and flashed full version of OxygenOS 2.0.2
Downloaded and flashed 2.1 OTA
OTA flashed with out any issues. If you do have issues make sure you download the latest version of twrp. Also make sure you are not rooted.

@Stephen says it, I don't tried it, but it seems that you can flash OTAs with TWRP, but you have to be sure to unroot your phone first: it migth be easier to download the OTA than the full ROM every time, I agree.

for example with TB, if you have these problems...
These are easy to handle and solve with a Xposed module
- Install latest Xposed Framework v75 (for 5.1.1)
- and the Module --> HandleExternalStorage
Then you should have no problems to write to external SD Card!

How do I flash it? Do I need FLASHTOOL?
Sorry but I am a newbie... and I do not see any instructions over this thread nor in the threads I have read...
Sorry again and thanks in advance
@jesusabc
You need an rooted Device! Zip File should flashed about Recovery.
you could downgrade to a an older FW example to Droid 5.0.2 Build 23.1.A.1.28
(flash Ftf-File with Flashtool) and root your Device with Kingoroot or similar and install Recovery.
then you can flash the Zip from Op.

So as I understand it...
I should install official FW 23.1.A.1.28, which includes 5.0.2 I assume... root my device using KINGROOT and, later, install the ZIP in the first post of this thread in the recovery... that´s ok?????
23.1.A.1.28 should be installed using flashtool?? Is there any thread over this forum where I can download it?
I found this one:
== SGP611 (Wifi 16GB) ==
- 23.0.1.A.0.167: Xperia Tablet Z3 compact - SGP611 - FTF files
IS THAT OK?????
Thanks again in advance for your help
Yeah right, FW 23.1.A.1.28 or older (0.167) is ok und should be easier to root.
P.S. If I can find time for the day(s), I'm uploading the FW x.1.28 still (with root options) .

Can you confirm that it will not work for SPG612 ? Looks like its the same .. or not ... This is always confuse.
For now, I am in .232 and need .264 on SPG612 (pre-rooted & recovery).
Tried to install OTA but, it restarted to the Android (open engine ..) and then, does nothing and continued to TWRP ... so, I restart to system and I see that update has not been applied.
What should I do ?
EDIT: Ok, I've tried to do the same as the author ... but .. maybe not enough for the update ?
So, I downloaded PRFCreator + last SuperSU + last DualRecovery.
I then used PRFCreator with all checked + signed => I got a first ZIP.
My first flash showed some error for FOTAKernel and Kernel (=boot).
So, I restored all partitions and created another ZIP without FOTAKernel => failed on the Kernel.
So, I restored all partitions and created another ZIP without FOTAKernel & Kernel => success
But, once I boot and goes to software update .. I still see the update "23.4.A.1.264" ... and I can also see that I run the exact same version ..
So, I suppose the update is not correct or partial .. (recovery is still present so, I could easily restore previous backup).
I've also tried to wipe cache and dvolk..* cache but same result.
Any idea ?
Is there a place to find all stock rom for SGP612 ?
EDIT2: let's try this one: http://www.xperiablog.net/forum/res...ct-wi-fi_sgp612_23-4-a-3-6_japan_generic.554/
EDIT3: OK, flashed and the only error was because of FOTAKernel which I don't care. Kernel was correctly flashed (+system +modem +..label).
After startup, no more update available and the expected "up-to-date" => perfect!
Hi all,
I am using xt1643. I installed nougat sock test rom and it is not providing options to update to final nougat rom. Current build npj25.75-2
I read in a thread that downgrading can cause problems. So, what should i do: downgrade to marshmallow and then upgrade via ota or directly flash final nougat rom??
Thanks in advance.

The 75-2 soak test update is a dead end unless you were on the official soak test program. I've not seen any further updates captured to allow you to formally upgrade via OTA to the official Nougat (currently build 93-14).
You could explore either option though:
1) Downgrade to MM, do not flash gpt partitions or bootloader (omit those commands) - you may find a signed stock ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1643-updated-signed-t3460695 (and the associated guide for downgrading: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/how-to-downgrade-nougat-to-marshmallow-t3487201). Then update via OTA to Nougat. You may prefer this to ensure that your update comes directly from Motorola. EDIT: note this method will void your warranty.
2) Flash via fastboot/RSDLite either the 93-11 Nougat update (v7.0, Nov 2016 security update) https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/android-7-0-install-nougat-official-t3531612 and update to the latest version via OTA, or flash 93-14 (v7.0, Dec 2016) https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1640-43-athene-npj25-93-t3549369 This option is the more direct/less potential for things going wrong, it's up to you how much you'd trust the updates you flash. EDIT: This method does not appear to void your warranty.
With either option, back up your key data and be aware your settings and personal data may be erased in the process. Personally, I'd suggest a full wipe to limit the number of issues that may arise. Good luck though
You can now flash full stock roms with (the right) TWRP:

bootloader and partition table is not flashed with these zips

No idea. Never done that. I use the flashable zips.

It appears to be the same method as one of the 93-11 methods I posted above: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/android-7-0-install-nougat-official-t3531612
Just bear in mind with using the 93-11 update to install it in India or somewhere we know that particular firmware has been released (and thus has an upgrade path to the latest 93-14 firmware) or download this 93-14 OTA update once you've updated to 93-11. https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/ota-zip-update-npj25-93-14-t3539407
Thanks for the help....Followed the other link and successfully upgraded to Nougat full build 93-11 and then updated using OTA to 93-14.
