First of all, great thanks for your work. I'm one of those who are still in LP because of the lack of fastboot comands in MM and don't want to lose TWRP, is there any way to update to this latest version of stock MM without losing TWRP + Root?
I've been waiting Alcatel to fix the problem of no recording phone calls, and now as it seems is working again after this november update is time to get MM on my beloved 6045Y.
Should we wipe something?
I tried to install the update with twrp 3.0.0-1 and it failed.
The message is :
EMMC:/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/boot:-------
Has unexpected contents.
My firmware is 6045Y 6.0.1 Europe EU4 by you.
My phone is rooted. I've systemless xposed framework installed.
Thanks for your help.
Does anyone have a link to either a changelog or a feature list for each update? My usual excellent Google-fu seems to be falling short and I can find anything.
All the last update said was that it would improve security and usability. That's pretty vague
sent from a phone running a ROM
I'm on MM with systemless root and it fails with FlashFire too (unable to mount some partition). Any idea on how to apply this OTA?
Does anyone have any instructions how to install this? I'm on stock 5.0.2.
This OTA update is a genuine one.
You must have a genuine and non rooted firmware MM on your 6045Y to apply this update
So, don't work on any custom rom, include mine and Alek ones
-------------------------
A small tip:
-backup your files and apps
-flash your 6045Y with Mobile Upgrade Q
-apply ota update
-flash twrp with "alcatel flasher by decker.su"
-root your phone with supersu zip
----------------------

So, if i follow your small tip steeps, i could have without any doubt this latest MM stock ROM with TWRP? It's indispensable for me to have TWRP + root, thanks in advance mate.
I'm incapable of doing a backup of recovery & boot with "alcatel flasher by decker.su" as i state in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70001742&postcount=54
@murigny64 to install this update you just need to use the stock recovery right?
Thanks in advance.

If so, can someone explain how to do this please? thanks
[Problem] Recovery loop
Alcatel One Touch idol 3 - 6045Y
Recovery loop while doing OTA update
Tried...
1.Wipe Cache, Reboot...(loop)
2.Wipe data/factory reset, Reboot...(loop)
3.Update from ADB...
3.1. used different ROMs...(nothing works)
- getting footer is wrong, signature verification failed.
3.2. used a update.zip from this forum(partial works)
- got upto 50% updates, but after it shows
-this is for "this finger print": but your device has "TCL/idol3/idol3? 5.0.2/LRX22G/v7ST2-0?user/release-keys"
Yet to try,
I think i need a update.zip or a ROM for above mentioned Fingerprint.
Information about my device:
-idol 3 (5.5) 6045Y
boot loader - L7ST2020BG00
built.id - LRX22G
version - 5.0.2
Fingerprint - mentioned above

Hi all,
I am using xt1643. I installed nougat sock test rom and it is not providing options to update to final nougat rom. Current build npj25.75-2
I read in a thread that downgrading can cause problems. So, what should i do: downgrade to marshmallow and then upgrade via ota or directly flash final nougat rom??
Thanks in advance.

The 75-2 soak test update is a dead end unless you were on the official soak test program. I've not seen any further updates captured to allow you to formally upgrade via OTA to the official Nougat (currently build 93-14).
You could explore either option though:
1) Downgrade to MM, do not flash gpt partitions or bootloader (omit those commands) - you may find a signed stock ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1643-updated-signed-t3460695 (and the associated guide for downgrading: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/how-to-downgrade-nougat-to-marshmallow-t3487201). Then update via OTA to Nougat. You may prefer this to ensure that your update comes directly from Motorola. EDIT: note this method will void your warranty.
2) Flash via fastboot/RSDLite either the 93-11 Nougat update (v7.0, Nov 2016 security update) https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/android-7-0-install-nougat-official-t3531612 and update to the latest version via OTA, or flash 93-14 (v7.0, Dec 2016) https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1640-43-athene-npj25-93-t3549369 This option is the more direct/less potential for things going wrong, it's up to you how much you'd trust the updates you flash. EDIT: This method does not appear to void your warranty.
With either option, back up your key data and be aware your settings and personal data may be erased in the process. Personally, I'd suggest a full wipe to limit the number of issues that may arise. Good luck though
You can now flash full stock roms with (the right) TWRP:

bootloader and partition table is not flashed with these zips

It appears to be the same method as one of the 93-11 methods I posted above: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/android-7-0-install-nougat-official-t3531612
Just bear in mind with using the 93-11 update to install it in India or somewhere we know that particular firmware has been released (and thus has an upgrade path to the latest 93-14 firmware) or download this 93-14 OTA update once you've updated to 93-11. https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/ota-zip-update-npj25-93-14-t3539407
Thanks for the help....Followed the other link and successfully upgraded to Nougat full build 93-11 and then updated using OTA to 93-14.
Had my A2017G for a few months, but still stuck on v1.0.0b06 with no available OTA updates.
Will I manually have to flash it to a android 7 version then will I be able to receive OTA?
Any guidance is much appreciated.
It really depends on where your device is from. That build may very well be the most up-to-date build released. Check the ZTE support site to be sure.
If you want to go to nougat right away, I'd suggest manually installing the German update zip / installing the leaked 7.1.1 B01 zip floating around. Afterwards, you'll receive the OTA prompt for the 7.1.1 B02 build.

Yes, you need to download nougat image from ztedevices then push it to SD card and update to nougat will be available via system updater.

So I won't need a build 10 to do the update to nougat?
Many thanks

I forgot if it's required. But no harm in doing the updates incrementally. The German support page has the B10 update, as well as the 7.0 update. Then the 7.1.1 B01 leak can be found around here. These of course are all for the A2017G variant.
If you intend to unlock your bootloader, I'd suggest doing so before upgrading to nougat.

Thanks. I'll give that a try when I'm home. Is this becoming stuck on certain software versions common on the A7?
Also in hoping in the future OTA works normally. Apart from this, the phone is solid all-around.

I have one german version... live in argentina, and otas comes really fast... the same day that someone post some info here...
I manually update to 7.0, then manualy to 7.11 b1, then ota notifies me that b02 is relased, so manual update dont break otas...

This is the full ota for V1.2.0B01: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767151720
I'd suggest you manually update to V1.0.0B10 and then to V1.2.0B01.
You can find t he V1.0.0B10 on the ztemobile.de page: http://www.ztemobile.de/support/downloads/?product_id=2100 (Software Update B10)
I'd skip going to Nougat 7.0 first. Just upgrade directly to 7.1.1 with the full ota I posted.
Copy both of the files onto your sd card. They will then appear in the Updater (Settings -> Updates). Just run the upgrade from there.
Be aware! As previously stated by @oleung4 unlock your bootloader before upgrading. I unlocked mine on B06.

It gets more complicated starting with (afaik) V1.0.0B11. If you want the easy way I'd suggest you do it before you upgrade past B10, I would even say do it before upgrading from B06.

First: Check that you didn't put the zip with the buncha numbers. If you open the zip you should find an update.zip and a pdf or something, and you have to use the update.zip inside. NOT directly the one with the numbers!
Second: Your phone probably won't find the file on the OTG, if so just copy the file from the OTG to the root of the internal storage
Ah....
I unzipped it.....
Okay so still no joy, neither of the files would update
"System Update Failed"

You almost brick the phone. Tell me a couple of things:
-What's the model? Turn it around and look below the Dolby Atmos symbol, it should be etched there. Either A2017 or G or U.
-I see that your software is of the A2017G. You probably have an A2017.
-What's the version that you downloaded? If it is for another version you can lose the IMEIs.
I have a similar issue. I have an A2017G. I had LOS on and am trying to go back to stock. I can get MM B10 or B11 to load, but N B01 won't flash within Android and if I force it from within recovery, the phone won't boot. anyone any smart ideas?
Hey guys
I have a question. I just recovered my phone from updating to Oreo, had bootloop all night and I painstakingly recovered to stock recovery and the earliest stock image possible, 4.5.3. My question is, do I have to go through all the updates one at a time ? For example from 4.5.3 to 4.5.4 and from 4.5.4 to 4.5.5 and so on ? Or can I update directly to 4.5.15 ? I'm definitely staying of Oreo. My phone is currently encrypted, not rooted, on stock recovery and the bootloader is unlocked. If I have to go through the updates one at a time, could you please provide a set of instructions to follow ? Like the steps necessary so I don't brick my phone again from the updating. Thanks !
You don't have to do all the update, a 1 time oreo full rom flash will be sufficient. Follow this instruction from HatRiGt and you're good to go

I'm worried that I've permanently messed up my phone. I didn't make a backup of my stock firmware when I first flashed Lineage OS, and then I was having issues with that, so now I'm using the stock one again, but it's not official. I used fastboot to flash it and then flashed twrp and magisk. That should of been sufficient to factory reset it right? It just keeps having little problems that it didn't have before, like internet loading things slowly and bugs and crashing apps. The reason I switched off the Lineage OS rom is because it had little problems like that too. I just don't know what to do anymore.
Relevant Info:
Device: Moto G5 Plus Unlocked US version
Carrier: T-Mobile

What do you mean with "stock but not official"?
Where did you get it from?
There are some sources for official firmwares signed by Motorola here on XDA so what makes you think the one you use isn't official?
If so that could be for sure the reason for problems for I have to say that I haven't seen unofficial stock ROMs except TWRP flashables (you said you flashed using fastboot so it can't be this) or debloated stock ROMs.

If you can flash the firmware by fastboot it's most likely an official signed firmware that was leaked. To be on the safe side use the firmware found here on XDA like this source:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
Just make sure to use the same firmware you we're on or a newer one that fits to your region.
I recommend to reflash the latest stock firmware, maybe something went wrong the first time.
And remember to always make a backup before you flash anything that could cause problems.
It the latest stock firmware different from the stock rom I flashed?
You can also try the repair function in Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant app.

Any firmware you'll find is leaked even the official ones. Motorola doesn't release any firmwares except the ones you can download with Lenovo Motorola Smart Assistant.
The link I posted https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
contains official firmwares too. The latest one for the US (85-17-4) can be found there too.

You can't take any system updates when you have TWRP installed!
For OTA you have to be on unrooted full stock ROM incl. stock recovery. This is a very important rule.
So you have to ways to handle this:
- Flash clean stock firmware and apply to the OTA afterwards (if you flash the latest firmware 17.4 you don't need the OTA anymore). You will loose your internal storage data or skip the "erase userdata" command.
Firmware from here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
- Take a TWRP flashable build but be aware that you can't take OTA updates at all in the future which is not needed as the firmwares are up to date.
