New sys update

Just came in d/l, installed. Had the coolest Android green gears ani. I have ever seen. Haven't had time to check it out. Keep your eyes open for it, do manual check for it.
Yeah the new spinning gears inside the Android during the update were really cool. I kinda freaked out when they froze for about a minute at the end of the process. Still the standard Android boot logo after the update though.
New version: Acer_A500_4.010.13_COM_GEN2 (previously was on 4.010.11)
Does anyone know what this patch does? I happily report it does not break root access, nor did it break my Netflix library fix. Also, my same tun.ko still works.
Are you f-ing kidding?
You open a thread just to say that?
Do you have eyes??? Read around the threads abit man!!!

Can't we have a system for voting positively on posts, Please. That way useful information can be made more easily accessible. Down-voting wouldn't make much sense here since this is not a forum for opinions.
On a side note, I don't understand if people do not find something useful why do they still have to comment on it. It's not like you are forced to read each and every post or thread, so wasting people's time does not sound like a much valid argument.

Hey look im sorry but i was in a bad mood and maybe could have a bit more gentle. its just that i have been seeing threads ALL OVER THE PLACE about updates and there are sooo many dumb threads and duplicates that I got pissed off. Im sorry to you, the other guys can kiss my ass because they are behind (probably where they like it lol) because they are doing EXACTLY what I did if you think about it
I think there is a big need for more mods here.

I appreciate your response but it seems as a result of this whole thing I was put on probation because of the original ? post, kind of ticks me off to put it mildly ! No reason as to why. I completely understand when you have a bad day & respond the way you did I've done the same thing.
Oh to heck with it, who knows what or how the powers that be think.

Hey Johny, prior to this post in my posts, there was name then under that member. Since this thread I had member [ OP] , maybe I'm misinterpreting the meaning. I was really tired & irritable late last night. (grumpy old man syndrome) doesn't really matter today. I've always been curious what the letters designate & just assumed. Thanks for the concern.

[Xperia Arc rebooting – A Solution

It does have one small design flaw in that when you place it down on a hard surface, or bump it slightly the phone switches itself off. A nuisance that occurred up to a dozen times per day.
this is not a software fault, it is caused by the battery jumping out of it’s seat ever so slightly and causing a hard re-boot. Richard’s solution was to get a couple of felt pads from his daughter’s craft set and stick them to the inside of the back cover, and these dampen the battery movement sufficiently for the problem to cease.
]
Two Green Felt Pads Approx 1.5mm thick solved the problem.
is not the only person to have this issue
Thnxxxx
I don't know why you have created a new thread to tell about old issue and solution. Why don't you use search before posting something?

In all fairness those post talk about Software solution not hardware solution.
From that post looks like you have some sort of issues with people mentioning reboots?
@OP There are 2 to three threads of this kind, please spend some time to read them all before you post.

I do not have issues with people mentioning about reboots. You can search to see how many reboot threads are around and in one of those you will find exactly the same solution by someone.

I don't know what is your problem!
I just find that this is another repeated thread of few other threads. He could have just put this inside the same thread instead of creating another one! Simple logic.
This has been covered a lot of times. You don't have to post a new topic. Like prathaban said, you could have just posted the same thing in the other thread, if you're that itching just to post something.
Please use the search button next time. And when you're creating a new thread, didn't it (the forum) suggest similar threads? Didn't you check them out?
CLEAN THE CONTACTS!
my batt. moves a bit , but not rebooting over a month or two

Anybody that reads a tech website knows about it. Samsung's already put out a press release acknowledging the problem. When it's fixed, I'm sure they'll know about it before we will and put out another press release. Nothing's going to hijack your device that you don't allow. Don't visit sketchy websites, download iffy apps with a low number of users, and don't accept certificates from website's you're not comfortable with. For the time being I'd disable "Unknown sources" in settings and enable "Certificates" in the browsers security settings. Samir pointed out earlier the naive could get in trouble accidentally. We here aren't naive.
May be i used the wrong word what i ment was an normal user who is a layman when it comes to tech and believe there are many on this site to who come for advice.
Will i still be able to update to the jellybean ota after this root method?

[Q] BetterBatteryStatus "data stall" alarm

Hi everybody,
I've a GT-I9505 rooted where I've installed the CM11 ROM and Alucard kernel latest relase.
By using BetterBatteryStatus, in the "Alarms" section I've noted that a lot of wakeups are caused by the "com.android.phone"
in the specific in a period of 7h 21m 14s the "com.android.internal.telephony.data-stall" alarm has caused 57 wakeups as shown in the attachment.
What's the meaning of these wakeups ? Do they depend on the poor radio signal strenght?
I've also attached other battery statistics.
Please help me to find out what's the major cause of battery drain.
Bump. Have seen this issue described across multiple forums and threads - yet to find a cause/solution for this.. My phone gets woken up 8-9 times an hour because of this.. Help anybody?
Hey, I don't know much about this alarm, but on some devices you can turn it off with
Code:
*#0*#
Hope it helps.

yup, you replied pretty quick. at first i thought you were just posting a N thread, then i realized.
Article I read on Android Central states that it's for N6P, N9 and N5X only.
