It does have one small design flaw in that when you place it down on a hard surface, or bump it slightly the phone switches itself off. A nuisance that occurred up to a dozen times per day.
this is not a software fault, it is caused by the battery jumping out of it’s seat ever so slightly and causing a hard re-boot. Richard’s solution was to get a couple of felt pads from his daughter’s craft set and stick them to the inside of the back cover, and these dampen the battery movement sufficiently for the problem to cease.
]
Two Green Felt Pads Approx 1.5mm thick solved the problem.

From that post looks like you have some sort of issues with people mentioning reboots?

I do not have issues with people mentioning about reboots. You can search to see how many reboot threads are around and in one of those you will find exactly the same solution by someone.

I don't know what is your problem!
I just find that this is another repeated thread of few other threads. He could have just put this inside the same thread instead of creating another one! Simple logic.
This has been covered a lot of times. You don't have to post a new topic. Like prathaban said, you could have just posted the same thing in the other thread, if you're that itching just to post something.
Please use the search button next time. And when you're creating a new thread, didn't it (the forum) suggest similar threads? Didn't you check them out?

Not really a practical way of doing this as the whole process would just repeat itself.
A few ways of doing this:
1. Leave it as it is
2. Have more categories so questions on specific topics are in specific folders i.e. all game threads in one folder, all threads on battery in other and so on.....but this would create dozens of folders, so again not practical.
3. Have a new setup so noobs aren't actually able to post questions unless they have already searched the forum.....but again, this also isn't practical
4. Have a section for noobs where all basic questions are asked and then another section for other members....but again, I'm not sure this would work either as a person may be posting their first thread but be an experienced user.
Personally, I would just leave it as it is, and possibly just delete a few threads which are useless to clear the waste
Baby and bathwater spring unbidden to mind!
sorry to say.....

Totally agree, thats why after all my suggestions I said it wouldn't work so just leave it as it is!!
while i agreee thre are lot of multiple threads i still beleive leaving them up is the besy way to help as user SHould search theyll get more options
ive just got this toy. but ive owned a godd few winmo phones before hand so im no noob but we alll have issues
Something that would help i think is better use of the wiki. Each cook having a page, each rom having its own page. each app having its own page. the discussion belongs in forum but ROMs should have their own page then theres 1 location for update info, details ect.

Or integrate an automatic search screen (maybe a popup to act as a temporary block) for:
a) anyone starting a new thread with
b) less than 40 or 50 posts history.
Then continue VIGILANTLY marking and reporting useless/repetitive threads.

I will vote for changing the forum first page. Giving that the number of devices is increasing, it is getting harder to find your phone through all of them. Maybe it is possible to categories it like saying depending on the model year/release date or specificationsod the device. That would be much more interesting than scrolling the whole page waiting to find a specific one.

ya.. ya... more option is good... may be almost the same problem but different solution...
Summarize
Major issue is looooong threads - which just go on and on. In the case of an answer to a particular problem - as soon as someone has a definitive answer the thread needs to be marked as Solved and the answer put in a reserved slot on the first page. It can me a nightmare going through a dozen solutions to fix a problem - and with people quoting bit's all the time there's probably 50% of the info duplicated.
Still
Best forum going

But the thing is Fallen, I've been trolling these forums for years, ever since I got my universal roughly 3/4 years ago. The majority of posts I have made really has been to help other people.
I am not a noob but have not made many posts, I am a competent programmer and can solve problems without having to post... Usually.
It would be really annoying if the few times I did need to post for help, or to share information, I would have to answer to a stupid popup asking me whether I have searched or not!
However, I do agree there is a severe lack in understanding the search facility on these forums, I think if a NOOB filter were to be placed it should go on join date.
P.S My join date was before Aug 07 I just forgot my email and password
There were always a few occasions when I was playing with my vibrant and noticed my brightness would increase randomly. I just figured out after some investigation, that if you slide your finger ALONG the status bar, so left to right either way, it will adjust the screen brightness. Just a tip in case anyone wasn't aware. It's really not an obvious feature to discover so I figured it might help people.
Ha, what a strange feature.
Nice find!

Wasn't asking for more tips. Wasn't asking if there was a two line blurb saying this already. Posted to help out people that didn't pick up on this. I've seen a lot of complaints of brightness not being in the notification bar toggle. Compared to all the other things that are repeated over and over I don't see it necessary to tell me what's for "my own good". If you already knew, hit back and move on. If my thread was entitled "I want to learn new tricks and tips" it'd be appropriate. Besides from this one "tip" everything else in the sticky is stuff I was already aware of.

So it wastes time because my title is bad, yet you took more time from your life to post that? 2 people is still 2 people. hey dude seriously though, one night i spent hours trying to search for something before i made a post. and it doesn't help that one must wait thirty seconds before searching again, and low and behold someone already posted a thread about it. the only thread in the whole forum i'm guessing, but yet i wasn't able to find it only because my words were not exactly that of the original thread. My point being is that this is a cool website where people go to help each other out. and the only thing i find more annoying than multiple threads resembling the same subjects, is the one person trolling around slapping links to other threads while being unnecessarily rude about it. if this is really all the better you can do to be polite in this forum then maybe you should switch to apple and continue to hold yourself above others and have it be accepted by the elitist peers you would gain. other than that do the world a favor and play nice. please.

I'm trying to post a question on the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138051
For the Taboonay 2.2 rom and it says that I need to post 10 times elsewhere before I can ask my questions (paraphrased). This is lame!
How am I supposed to ask a question in a relevant thread and have my problem potentially fixed and have others see this problem fixed so it can help them as well? Is this not what forums are for?
This is a bit of a rant but I really need to figure out how to get my bluetooth working after I updated to 2.2 so does anyone have any idea how I can be able to post in that thread to get my (and potentially others') problem solved? Thanks.

Well, Vache asks us to post in that thread if we need help so that's what I tried to do. I'll post something here-- it's still a lame rule and these arbitrary forum rules are really annoying though. I still can't get over the ones that filter-out three character (or less) searches. I mean, how else is one supposed to search for things like: pdf, etc, gui, kde, x86, ...? Anyway, I don't think these forums have this filter but I'm trying to increase my post count.
Thanks.

in my opinion its a stupid rule. Im a long time reader and have lots of experince with roms / computers / programming and cant post to dev till ten post so spamming which defeats their purpose of trying to reduce spam
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
Rules are rules, I think the 10 post rule is to keep it sorta tidy in here, I was on one forum with little rules and it was fluded with crud.
I don't mind the rules ans love the search button.
I've got nothing to add.. just wanted to see my post count..
I for one don't know if it really is all that effective compared to perhaps a 1 week post restriction after initial signup. I read through the replies in the dev section and can understand why a dev would not revisit their thread. I could go spam several threads to get to 10, but why contribute to increased database size for no beneficial reason? I'm sure this view has been expressed before.
It's precisely BECAUSE of spammers that this rule was instigated in the first place.
No offence, but I think we seemed to have missed the point of this post, and that was to try and help this guy out with his bluetooth problem. Now since you have your 10 posts is it safe to assume that you have moved on to the taboonay post and asked your question there?
I think there should be more notice that you are limited for the first ten posts when you sign up. I'm quite observant, but also quick and to the point. I probably signed up in the least clicks possible and read only what I needed. Then I tried to post in the taboonay thread as well and got shut down by the forum.
Not saying it doesn't say it; but as I don't usually miss things, you might want to make that more clear.
I would *love* it if someone helped me with my Bluetooth problem. I posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302082
and in the Taboonay thread but so far have had no bites... Guess I'm the only one with the problem or something.
Personally, I'd rather post in a forum or sub-forum rather than a thread that has hundreds of replies each having a different problem. It's kinda like having multiple conversations with one other person over chat. Anyway, vache asked us to post there so I did...
I also would love to figure out to keep the speakers muted when the headphones are plugged-in but it seems that I'm the only one having that problem too-- although maybe I'm not using the right searchwords...

This is probably little comfort, but if you're experiencing such issues with Taboonay, perhaps you should go back to stock? I'm running stock, I'm very happily running stock, although I am using Richard Trips kernel just so that I can overclock. Everything works fine on my tab...

What have you tried so far to resolve those issues? Personally i would do the necessary wipes of the usual things, then reinstall the rom and see if that fix the issues...To me almost all Rom seem moody, you can do every thing right and end up with alot of problems. Do the same thing again and they work without a prob...
I am running stock 3.2 only modified for Root with Thor Kernel. The min i pair my BT headphone or plug in head set, the sound on tablet speaker get muted. Also if you still having prob with the Rom after you have tried all possible solutions. I will advice you to try the stock 3.2. Its really fast and Zero problems so for.

SERIOUSLY?!? Is that the best you can do? How patronizing is that?!?! Tell me to search the forums and say that there are solutions to my problem but not actually help me by providing links etc.??? I know how to search forums and have been doing so for well over a decade. Why do you think my post count is so low!?!?!? I search forums!
Now, when I finally have a legitimate question that I can't find an answer to all I get from people is "search the forums".
You're right about a couple of things. Yes, there are questions about getting Bluetooth working in the Taboonay 2.2 thread but they are all fielded by *me* with no answers in sight! You're also right about the fact that there is probably an answer here in the forums-- but I can't find it so I'm asking for help!!!!
Seriously, telling me to search the forums and not providing any concrete help is more of a waste of time and space than actually re-posting a solution!
Sorry, if this sounds like I'm angry, but it's because I am. BTW, did you actually look at the Taboonay thread? You may have noticed about 50 people asking how to fix the market on the latest upgrade and multiple solutions re-posted. No one got after those people for re-posting the same question multiple times. Also, I didn't need to re-post a question about the market because it was there and I fixed it.
Now, it's my turn: if you're not going to be helpful don't post anything at all!!!

Also if you still having prob with the Rom after you have tried all possible solutions. I will advice you to try the stock 3.2. Its really fast and Zero problems so for.

I tried doing a fix permissions in CWM and I tried re-installing TabletTalk. I haven't tried a full wipe yet but that's because I'm afraid to lose my stuff. I still need to figure-out a proper backing-up solution (which I haven't started to look into yet).
I'd prefer not to install a stock 3.2 if possible but I guess I could try that. I just want to make sure I stay rooted.

Hey,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3. 4 weeks old and yesterday I discovered a problem that was not obvious. Under a black background in a dark place, I could see little dark black dots scattered over the screen. I once had the same problem with my iPad but in a different colour (white) and they gave me a new iPad right away So I just wanted to warn you guys to check for this problem, as one of my friends had this problem too!
Hope this helps!

Well I know OP was trying to be nice. But in the far distant future, they are going to integrate "forum etiquette" in the elementary internet classes.
Ridiculous that this is another new thread regarding this issue!!!!

yes, because people do not search before posting anything.. They find something and think "Oh I need to let everyone on XDA know about this" Go and create a thread without ever thinking "I wonder if anyone else has had the problem I have, maybe I should search before I create a new thread"
Like yesterday, a guy created a thread on jellybean source, 10 minutes later another person created another thread on Jelly Bean Source, not even seeing that just 3 threads down from his was the original JB thread... There is no excuse for that.
So not only are people not searching, but they arent even taking the time to look through the threads on the first page.. it's laziness, it clutters the forum for more useful posts.. And there is really no excuse for it.
When I experience a problem I know the first thing I do is search to see if anyone else is having that same problem. 90% of the time a search yields me what I need, if not THEN I create a thread, I dont create a thread without searching to see If there is an existing thread about the issue I'm having
OP your intentions are noble, but for the furture.. please search before you post. If you had you would of found the mega thread discussing this issue and would have learned more about the issue instead of just creating a thread..
is the fix for this using screen filter app?
thx

You know what fix you should be thinking about? Your signature. It's huge and ugly.
There is no 100% perfect production process anymore. Expect to have flaws
