How to root moto g4 plus on soak Nougat - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Title is self explanatory, I looked around and all the rooting guides are for the original marshmallow version, I am running the soak test Nougat, any ideas on how to do it?

Amazon G4 XT1625 change software channel?

Ok so, Ive been searching the forums but haven't found a concise answer.
Background info:
Moto G4 XT1625 (Amazon Prime ad Version)
Bootloader unlocked
Not rooted
Software Channel/Variant: amz
Current software version: MM 6.0.1
Build Number: MPJ24. 139-64
What I'd like to know is:
1.) Can i flash the stock non-amazon prime version rom for this model to my phone safely, thereby changing the software variant/channel to retus?
2.) Is the rom for MPJ24.139-63 available to flash as i want to try out the nougat soak test, and is the soak test recommended?
Cheers.

I don't think flashing a non-Amazon factory room will change the channel to retus. As for the soak test, some have had no problems and some have had problems. I can tell you that flashing the soak can stop the official update. At least it did for me when I did an official soak on my G3. Motorola wasn't a lot of help in getting it fixed but eventually one of their engineers pushed me an update.

I'm probably wrong, but I thought the prime version with ads had an un-unlockable bootloader? How did you unlock it?

I thought so too, when I saw it mentioned in the forums, I checked the website immediately and I got through by probably sheer luck.

Official Nougat Stock ROM for Moto G4 Plus

Hello guys,
I'm on soak test ROM NPJ25.75-2 currently.
I see that the official Nougat release for our XT1643 phone is way ahead of this soak test build. I couldn't find the latest image any where. Please let me know how I can update/flash the latest build.
P.S. Everything is smooth and fine with my soak test build except that every now and then, speaker stops working. I don't hear any sound during calls, or games or notification. Nothing. Then I have got to restart to get it working back. If anyone is facing similar problem and has found a solution, kindly let me know.
Thanks in advance!
There is no official release yet.
Why no update? Apparently motorola is same kind of abandonware now as most of the chinese bulk phones...
Here's what I found on this-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3517059
For this, if you are on soak test ROM, you will have to downgrade to latest MM version. To downgrade, follow - http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...owngrade-to-marshmallow-nougat-t3515961/page5
Hope you guys find this helpful.

The downgrade of the bootloader to MM is possible only if he unlocks the bootloader. That means loosing the warranty.

Amazon Prime Moto G4 Nougat soak test/Indian release.

After browsing a bit I was excited to see that there has been an official Nougat release of sorts for the G4, being that my phone's bootloader is not unlockable and installing custom firmware is not an option. After reading the instructions released for the Indian version I noticed that it required MJP24.139-63/64 and I have MJP24.139-64/65. Being the adventurous soul that I am I attempted to install it. As expected I get an error that says as much, that it expects MJP24.139-63/64 and has found MJP24.139-64/65. To see if there was a way I could downgrade or if there were another version of Nougat that didn't need this I looked around some more and found this. Those instructions link to a guide that seems more focused on getting you *back* from Nougat than they do on prepping your device for it and as such those instructions link to the official Motorola website that only has the latest available firmware (what I currently have installed). The only other advice I've seen anywhere about what to do all links to a Reddit post that has subsequently been deleted so I have no way of knowing what it said.
Does anyone know what to do? Is this even possible? I would very much appreciate any help you all can offer.

Can a G930A running on Nougat 7.0 be rooted?

Recently I came across this article: https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/root-s7-att-g930a-g935a-t3410538 providing instructions on rooting both the g930a and g935a models. However, much to my dismay this root was performed using version 6.0.1, and alas, I'm running on nougat 7.0. I've searched all over the forums trying to find an answer as to whether this method still works for devices running on 7.0 however, I cannot find a direct answer. Does anyone know if the method of rooting used in the above article still works for a g930a running on 7.0 nougat?
All help is appreciated.

Yes there is root for 7.0. Just look through the forum and you will find what you need.

I've searched through but I cannot find such things? Forgive me for I've never been good at my "google-fu" or searching forums, however I will go back and do a double take. I'll continue looking, but would it be possible for you to point me in the right direction?

Rooting my s8+

I have an s8+ g955u1ues2aql1 Running on 7.0 nougat
And I've been looking though the forums for any updates on root for mine, so far the only thread I found that sounds promising is the latest partycyborg rom way rooting. But I'm still unsure if my device is compatible because I dont see my bootloader version in the guide. I've been looking through other threads and searching but the only other significant find was a reply to one of the older rooting threads that said mine wasnt compatible with the rev2 bl and to look into samfail. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks all
