[Galaxy A3] Need stock samsungani and bootanimation files after bootloop - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

The full phone model is Samsung Galaxy A300FU
I tried changing the boot animation. I failed. I managed to fix it, only to mess it up even more by following a guide here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032019) that said to rename bootanimation as samsungani and delete samsungani. I, for some dumbass reason, didn't backup them. I don't know if just restoring the stock ones will fix the bootloop (as I tried flashing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2063280 (the sani-only version) and another one (it had a disabler and an enabler, but sadly I have no link). Does anyone have those 2 files?

Hi. I too have had this problem. Previously I've found changing the boot animation on a rooted phone pretty straightforward. I've used data/local - put the zip file in there and it's worked. With the S3 Neo, nothing changes. I've tried other suggested locations but no success so far. Anyone got any ideas?
Yeah the stock samsung roms have a different format so you cant easily change the boot animation.
Just flash this zip and then it will work. http://www.mediafire.com/download/1kl7xuu08fdusfo/CWM_CustomBootanimation_44_Enable.zip
Thanks Laurisss
Laurisss, thanks. Unfortunately it didn't work
I tried flashing the zip using adb sideload and direct from the sdcard. In both cases it gave an error saying that the footer format was wrong. I've been able to get the bootanimation working on other Samsung devices - my old S2 was pretty straightforward. Something has been changed in the S3 Neo that gets in the way of all of the usual workarounds. Any other suggestions?

You have to have CWM (ClockWorkMod Recovery) flashed on your device, because stock recovery is checking the zip files, if they are legitimately signed by whitelisted certs (or something like that).
Edit: Just use Odin3 with CWM Recovery package for Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo, kill any Samsung Kies3/Kies app that is running, and you should be good to go, just put the recovery package in "PDA" part, if there is no "RECOVERY" there. It's been a long time since I last opened Odin and I forgot the precise layout it had.

I try to install custom boot animation and now my boot screen is just a black screen. Mine is sm n900 5.0 Russia firmware. Is there anywhere I can get my original boot animation back or how can I install a custom boot animation. Please help me out.

So it's a zip or qmg file?. If zip then your original boot animation still there. Try to delete the zip in system/media. It it's qmg you need to extract it from firmware or other rom and replace it.
I think for lollipop if you were to use bootanimation.zip you need to use a modified bootanimation in system/bin else it won't work. This bootanimation in system/bin controls bootanimation.zip in system/media

Your phone is n900s or n900?. You don't need a safetrap or twrp to install a custom bootanimation. Nevertheless since your phone doesn't has custom recovery I would suggest not to play with system file as it could bootloop your phone. The idea is to have a nandroid backup before messing the system files so that you could undo the changes in case it go wrong.
I already backup. I want to install the Marvel VS DC boot animation. I want the qmg version, but i can't find it anywhere. And is SM-N900
What was you trying to install earlier?. A bootanimation.zip ot bootanimation.qmg?. You can try your luck with bootanimation.zip but as i said earlier you MIGHT need to replace bootanimation in system/bin to make bootanimation.zip to work due to memory leak issue. I have it for n9005, extracted from audax rom. Not sure if it will work on 900

[SOLVED] Custom boot animations not working - shutdown anaimation works

Hi,
So I've been fiddling with trying to get a custom boot animation to work for a while now, but to no avail. I've backed up the original bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg and shutdown.qmg, and pasted the new ones into /system/media. I changed the permissions to rw-r--r-- as per the instructions. However, initially nothing worked except the poweron.ogg sound. I then put shutdown.qmg in /system/media/video/shutdown after I noticed that folder, and now the shutdown animations works but not the boot animation. Is it just a matter of finding where the boot files need to go?
Thanks for any insight,
James.
EDIT- never mind, I solved it myself. I managed to find and flash a stock BTU ROM (unlocked, carrier-free) to my phone, and then I re-rooted and copied over the qmg files, and it just worked. I'm pretty sure now that it was because of my carrier's firmware, which had the appropriate boot/shutdown animations stored elsewhere on the phone instead of /system/media.
SO, if anyone else has this issue and is on a carrier-specific firmware, download the unlocked firmware appropriate to your region from the official Samsung website, and flash it using Odin.

Rooted Samsung s4 custom boot animation won't work?

Hello guys, I need help trying to get my boot animation that I downloaded to work. I rooted my device with kingroot and it works perfectly that my device is rooted correctly. I used the root browser and boot animations app by Jrummy or something like that then I grabbed a watchdogs bootanimation on the net named bootanimation.zip, it is has two parts and has the resolution of my s4 at&t i337. I installed the zip to data/local (didn't work) I checked the permission status and made sure they read rw-r-r. Then I installed it to system/media and that still didn't work. I realized that the boot animations were not being overwritten so I tried to rename the boot animation.zip to bootsamsung.qmg to replace the stock manafactuar boot animation and no luck. I searched everywhere on the Internet for a answer and they provided the same one that didn't work. If you guys want screenshots or the zip I can try to post it. But I would appreciate some help ASAP.
Have you tried deleting the original boot animation zip, leaving only the custom one?
This should not cause any serious problems.
The worst thing that can happen is that you will have a black screen (because the boot animation was deleted) during the boot process.
Stock firmware doesn't support .zip bootanimation. You need to convert manually the bootanimation into .qmg.

Samsung logo instead od custom bootanimation (NOT A BOOTLOADER)

Hi there!
I have some troubles with custom boot animation. The problem is that instead of any boot animation i have a samsung word on the screen for 5-7 seconds and after that system loads. I put the bootanimation.zip file correctly into the system/media folder but nothing happened. Also while I'm trying to use any animation from Boot animation root app still nothing is happening.
I'm using Samsung Galaxy J5 (2015) with custom ROM: Viper-j5ltexx-7.1.2-Coral-v3.0-20170812-OFFICIAL
Any ideas how to solve it?
have you checked its permissions?
its permissions should be rw-r--r--
Yes i had 644.
Now it's working after re-flashing custom ROM. Probably after first flash something happened.
Hello Sirs.
Please tell me ways to upgrade my J5008( which is now converted to j500f ) to android version 6.0.1?
I think this thread might be usefull for You
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...m-cyanogenmod-13-0-samsung-galaxy-j5-t3519580
This is for Cyanogenmod based on 6.0.1 but with 5.1.1 android version you can use it.
