I just rooted my galaxy S5 on AT&T network ( model SM-G900A ) with version 3 of Geohotz Hack. I also changed the one file mentioned in this tutorial for AT&T users. What do I need to do to get ISIS to work and if ISIS doesnt work, will no other NFC prgram work on a rooted galaxy S5 on AT&T?
P.S. I have been a Iphone jailbreaker for years and and root on android is new for me. Id like to install the latest version of kitkat I can with out loosing root. Can soe one send me the update and tell me how or point me to a tutorial ( preferably on youtube ) to update kitkat with out loosing root.
Thank you very much
Chris

Can you post a screenhot? You may have a S5 clone. Have you installed CPU-Z or Phone Info*Samsung (both on Play) to identify the device?

I think it's the fact that this doesn't have much to do with the device development.
I think the apps section would have been more appropriate:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/themes-apps
I know but that wouldn't have the proper visibility because 90% of the i9506 users surf this section only.

I'd like to help, but I've installed 4.4.2 recently and I don't have root anymore, at least for now.
If you want the 4.3 version I have a backup, but it might be different. (I've got the 2 apks and odex files
Regards
I might give it a try if it's OK for you thanks.

OK, here it goes: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46031239/AccuWeather_43.zip
Try and see.
The app seems the same, or at least the 4.4.42 looks exactly as 4.3.. but they might be different. These files are from 4.3, on that version I had root and I replaced for S5 version, that's why I saved them.
If you need anything else, ask, maybe I can help you.
Thanks I am gonna give it a try right now!

Wait... don't go away!!!
I've got something for you, the 442 version: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46031239/Widget_AccuWeather_442.zip
I realized a few minutes ago that with Airdroid I'm able to explore the /System/app folder... I couldn't imagine that, from G3 version.
I already tried the previous files, but something weird happened (not because of you of course)!
After I moved the files to /system/app/ and gave them the proper attrib I rebooted into recovery, wiped dalvik and cache, rebooted again and... everything was reset to default!!
Very weird issue and also Accuweather still didn't want to show up in the widgets.
Thanks God I had a Titanium backup from the beginning of September...
Now I am 'scared' to go on and try another ZIP.

Install 'samsung phone info'. Not sure if it will work with unrooted phone but it do has function to launch those codes. If your phone is rooted that it much better.

Hi there, i'm hoping im correct here. I own an S7 Edge (935-F) and for an Medical App that i need urgently, i want to fake for the App that my Device is an S7 (930-F) is that possible without Root?
I'm on Nougat DBT, any Hints or Tipps? The App Developer just let me ran an Galaxy S7 on Nougat
With root u can do almost anything with your smartphone. If you are interested there's special apps that was made for this purpose, really i can't remember how it called but u can always search on google and u can easily find and download.
If that's not working for you, there is another way to change it in the system files with root explorer.
But with this way its possible to damage your system.
Its better to get ur files and system packed up before doing anything specially with rooted device, for that purpose u can use recovery mode.
