SuperSU on Nougat (N soak test) - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Since SuperSU 2.78 SR5 is released, the problem with rooting nougat has seemed to be solved. I tried it on some custom roms and it worked without breaking modem. This post is just to let know other people that it does work also on N soak test, using the very same method of systemless rooting in marshmallow.
Here is the link for latest supersu:

Use this method to root stock N:

Works perfect. Thank you very much.:good:

[Q] [910U] How updatede to MM with Root

Dear Friends,
I am owner of 910U device on L , rooted and with TWRP.
To update MM, I was going to flash Offical firmware of MM 6.0.1 , to have latest modem bootloader.
But we do not have root or CF auto root, for MM yet. So I cannot root and re flash TWRP (as I think)
However, I have seen some people on forum that have MM on 910U device, with root.
So I was wondering, Is it possible to keep root and twrp while flashing orginal firmware?

As far as I know, there is not root method for marshmallow yet. I flashed the original firmware which reverted root.
I'm on MM, but 910H model. I took a chance and flashed 5.1.1 cf auto root from chainfire, for the 910H and it worked. Just rooted, no custom rom. No problem whatsoever. Smooth as butter.
Thank you all. I did. thanks to @djmax
1- I Flashed, modem and sboot of 6.0.1, over L firmware. System was working.
2- I flashed erobot firmware of 6.0.1
3- flashed SUSE MAX kernel of djmax work for 910U
4- rebooted, : had no signal, no superuser, noise crash for calls..
5-Flashed modem, sboot again for 910U
6-flashed super sU zip 2.71 from chainfire
7- flashed noise fix for 910 U
8- flashed SMSfix from erobot..
ALL working now.

Root questions

Hello, a friend just got the Moto G4 Plus.
He wanted to root the device but wants to receive OTA updates as well.
Is that a possible thing?
Maybe with with systemless root?
The simple answer is YES and No {Yes} if you unroot+ uninstall xposed+ and flash stock recovery than you can update your phone. {NO} if you can't do it above mentioned step ) P.S. Flashfire doesn't work.

Sprint S7 on Nougat "QAA". Can I downgrade for Xposed?

I'd really like Xposed, which means downgrading to Marshmallow. I just purchased the device and unfortunately it was Android 7.0 out of the box.
So can I downgrade to Marshmallow safely? Looks like I'd need to downgrade to "PE1".
What if I can't get to MM? What's the preferred route for root on Nougat? The "U" firmware?
Thanks all!

You'd need to downgrade to PL6 via Odin.
Root on marshmallow is a little unstable and I'm not sure it is worth the downgrade. What do you need root/ xposed for? Some modules put the phone in a boot loop because of the root method we have.

What root method are you using? I've been running a rooted MM s7 for about 8 months with very few issues (with occasional flashing of other firmwares in an attempt to root them). It's rock solid, and very few modules are incompatible, and that's due to the nature of our rom, not our root method. (Android N-Ify builds past v 0.2.0 for example).

Flashing New Emojis

I am on 6.0 Marshmallow due to Moto X Pure not being updated. I am running stock. I really want to be able to see the emojis that my friends send me. If i root and flash Nougat Emojis? will that prevent me from getting the Nougat update via OTA?

Don't get your hopes up for nougat ota anyways...? But jokes aside you can root with magisk and still be able to take an OTA, but I dont know if it's risky, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but i was looking at this thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/ota-updates-magisk-t3476091/page1
Since magisk is systemless, you can get the ota, and from what I get you can flash it with flashfure, but that's over my head, you'll have to do your own reading on that I don't know if you use any apps which use safety net right now(pokemon go, Android pay, Netflix, etc...) But if you head over to the magisk forums the latest stable version is v12 but it doesn't pass safety net. If safety net is necessary for your needs you'll have to flash the latest beta, and then flash away with the nougat emojis!!!
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions, and I think after taking an ota you'd have to reflash magisk to gain root again but you'd still have the emojis without root anyways.
Edit : as I wrote that last line it occurred to me...you only need an unclocked bootloader and a custom recovery like TWRP to flash zips! Check some guides on how to unlock the bootloader and flash twrp. So you wouldn't even need root as you don't need to touch the system partition. I hope the above info is useful info anyways, but for the emojis, head over to the TWRP site and check the Downloads for Clark, flash twrp, and then flash the emojis!

[XC] [LB] Any systemless root?

I'm currently on the 6.0.1 mm and stuck with LB and have ran out of ideas to search, could I not do a temp root then make a systemless one stick?
