Hi, There are a few versions. for the best update support which one of them should I buy? I'm not sure if this is the case with LG but with Samsung some of the models receive updates much much later!
Which of the models should I buy?
Buy the one supported in your region by your carrier. If you have a GSM carrier/MVNO that doesn't have its own variant, then get the unlocked.

what's the unlocked model number?
edit: weird, the taiwain dual sim version was just 600$ in my country, everywhere else the lg v20 is 800$! how is that possible?!
Is the dual-sim bad? I'm worried I'm not gonna get software updates. I don't use dual sims!
edit:
it's H990ds

Whatever you choose, cross reference the phone with your carrier to make sure it will work.

It will work! but I'm worried about other stuff. usually dual-sim versions of phones aren't really as good and software updates aren't good either. should I worry? what about root:?

Im from Greece (Europe)...i have dual sim H990DS.I always prefer dual sim phones especialy when a model isnt imported in my country like Lg v20 that isn't imported to Europe...so i don't have to worry about guarantee because it doesn't have...
I can tell you with my experience most of the times dual sim phones are better than single sim models (Note 4 duos,Lg g4 dual,Lg V10 dual, S7 edge duos,Note 7 duos & now V20 dual)
But except of samsung that use excactly the same rom for both dual and single version all the other manufactures are delayed with updates on dual sim devices and root method...LG V20 dual sim might never take root...
Single sim is with V10b rom and dual sim has the first rom with no update (V10a)...But i cant find any of the problems that you can read here in xda....its working perfectly...

I do care a lot about updates, So I guess I'll find the single SIM or otherwise buy HTC 10, Because google play doesn't work without root. or google now! I do have my rooted note 4 but I'm not sure it will work!

Hello.
I just got a second-hand i9505. And i have some questions.
It's running 4.4.2. When it boots, it displays a SFR logo (i heard is a french carrier).
I have used Factory data reset, and the problem is that the phone installed me SuperSU. True, it's not working, so i don't have root. But when i check for updates OTA it says that my device has been modified blah blah blah.
When i connect it to Kies, it says i have an upgrade.
Current firmware version: PDA:NC4 / PHONE:NC4 / CSC:NC2 (SFR)
Latest firmware version: PDA:NG8 / PHONE:NG8 / CSC:NG1 (SFR)
I don't use here in Romania SFR (i'm on Telekom) so i'm asking, if i upgrade it via kies is there any chance to become simlock?? And if it becomes simlock, how can i unlock it.
Or... can i flash any software from samsung-updates.com?
Sorry for my bad english..
Poti sa postezi si in romana. Atata timp cat postezi si in engleza mai jos
Something is definitely wrong with the phone. Since a factory reset is installing the SuperSU app. On the original firmware this shouldn't happen.
If you say you're using it in Telekom, then it I don't think it's locked to a carrier. But if it was bought it from a french carrier, then it might have been carrier locked and unlocked afterwards
As for the update, I don't know if it will lock it back.
Whether the phone becomes SIM Locked or not depends on how it was unlocked. Carrier unlocks or purchased unlock codes are permanent. The unlock methods used here run the risk of losing the unlock when upgrading, though they can be run again if needed. The good news about an unlocked phone is that you can install any stock ROM you want. For example, my 9505 was an O2 phone. When I bought it the device had Slovenian firmware on it. I've since replaced that with Black Edition unbranded firmware.
Is there any chance to be unlocked with root help? If yes, this should not be working, because the root is inactive.
Anyway, you're saying that i can flash an unbranded stock rom? And it will not become simlocked?
To the best of my recollection, the service menu unlock does not require root. Attempting to take advantage of RegionLock Away's unintended side effect of unlocking the phone while removing the region lock requires root, since RegionLock Away modifies system files.
In any event, if your phone is unlocked, you can install unbranded firmware in place of whatever firmware is currently on the S4. However, there's no guarantee you won't lose the SIM unlock, especially if you use the methods on the forums here to unlock it. In fact I'm reluctant to upgrade to Android 5.0.1 when it finally becomes available for the 9505. Not only am I concerned that Android 5.0.1's massive changes will break the SIM lock, but based upon horror stories I've read on the forums here, there's no downgrading the new modem once installed. If that truly is the case, then I'll look into a custom Android 5.0 Touchwiz ROM, when they become a bit more common.
What do you think about G4 Android M update?
Does G4 users get Android M update before 2016?
Which country will get M update firstly?
Let's discuss...
Poland and other smaller EU countries may see it first (H815).. followed by Korea (F500K/L/S). Should happen before 2016... late October.. November or early December.
H815 variants (H815L/T etc) and other international models (H818 etc) and USA models will most likely get updated later during Q1 2016.
But impossible to know for sure until the time comes.

I've read somewhere that LG is currently testing Marshmallow on the G4.. So I think it will be release somewhere in October or November.. At least before 2016.

Luckily the Sea variant can flash kdz for the European variant. I've read you'll lose things like volte.
We are on software 10z. I would imagine Korean phones will be the first but only time will tell. Looking forward to it though!

I predict February for most devices to have M. According to their track record it's been like that. November and December for Korea and Poland.

http://www.techtastic.nl/smartphone...irect-geupdatet-naar-android-6-0-marshmallow/
English: The prediction is that the LG G4 will get an update in 2015. The LG G3 will come later and there are rumours that the G2 won't even get the update at all.
Note: These are all rumours! And i think the international carrier-unlocked H815 will be first.

It would be nice if I got marshmallow before the end of the year but not getting my hopes up as I have at&t. Did a Google search on update history for at&t optimus G, G2, and G3 and its always the following April after the nexus launch. Seems a bit long to me

Hopefully true....
Probably you guys haven't heard about lg OGP. I am coming from that device eithiut minimum support. Most locations received lolipop update except in india. Yes it sucks.. But couldn't help it.
Also, speaking of v10z? Seriously? We still are on v10f! Heh
Id rather they give us an unlockable bootloader first. I wouldn't want to update to 6.0 anyway until I can get xposed and all the other tweaks I like having first. Made that mistake going from kit kat to lollipop right away and man did 5.0 suck for the first few months. 6.0 is not even a big update anyway.
Isn't LG usually pretty fast at pushing these updates out to the carriers? I would imagine the carriers will be the problem.
Thankfully for us Canadian users, we just need ONE carrier to release the update as the H812 is identical across all versions.

LG G4 Android M release
The Android M update for the LG G4 is coming. The LG G4 will be the first phone besides the Nexus phones to receive the update. LG is already starting to roll out the update in Poland this week.

i reply in english because for forum rules the answer can be erase for be in other language lol. yes i can... i search a lot and i buy mine on amazon, i asked to the seller and he said it works on all except 4G band. anyway in my area don't have 4g so.. no problem with that if you want to buy on Chinese page you can enter here http://www.kimovil.com/es/donde-comprar-xiaomi-redmi-3s-3gb-32-gb and you can se the web sites where the phone its sold with that band enabled. i hope you understand my bad english xD
I am from Mexico and bought my phone at geekbuying webpage.
[HK Stock][Official International Version][Package B]XIAOMI Redmi 3S 5.0inch HD 4G LTE MIUI 7 Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa Core 3GB 32GB Smartphone
This International Version Works perfectly with 4G LTE Band 4. (Telcel Mexico)
Movistar in Mexico Uses the LTE Band 2 and the phone will only work with 3g. (H+)
Hope this helps.
Seems like the international version of Redmi 3s has additional FDD LTE bands (4G: FDD LTE B1/3/4/5/7/8/20 (2100/1800/1700/850/2600/900/800MHz)). I am wondering if we can unlock the additional bands in our Redmi 3s Chinese version because I also need band 4 in order to have LTE signal.
I was trying to unlock Band 2 on my phone, but could not unlock the bootloader.
After being granted permission from Xiaomi to unlock bootloader, I get the "Couldn't Verify Device" Error at 50%. Seems this is something xiaomi needs to fix.

They answer me that their model comes from Taiwan, so I presume it is H990DS.

Currently, the two Dual Sim models are H990DS and H990N. The H990DS seems to mainly come from Taiwan. I got mines from Taiwan via eBay. I've contacted LG Mobile Singapore and their variant is also the H990DS. Perhaps there are more Asian countries that sell the same model?
Hong Kong seems to be the only one carrying the H990N.
According to this site, the H990DS and H990N are fairly similar in terms of LTE band support, with the H990N supporting 2 additional bands.

The big difference is the category of LTE.
H990DS is faster (cat.12) than H990N (cat.6) in upload/download.

So a quick one here, I have the SM-G975U1 Unlocked Galaxy S10+, and I flashed it to the SM-G975U TMB firmware. So far its ok - the t-mo advanced messaging and voice calling works, but it does say the "your current software version isn't supported. Visit a service center". I did some searching, and I saw there is a SM-G975U1 TMB version as well.
I am a bit confused by this - I thought all unlocked firmware was U1, and carrier branded firmware is U. Has anyone flashed this U1 TMB and got all the carrier features? What is this version?
And a side note, is there no difference between flashing U or U1 firmware between phones, or is it better practice to flash the U1 firmware on U1 devices?
Thanks!
There is no difference in hardware. U1 will lose some of the tmobile stuff for sure. I have U1 and there is no VoLTE so far. I tried to get virtual vm to work and there is no way. There is no U1 TMB, it's just SIM provisioning. if you want tmobile stuff, you can go ahead and flash their firmware. where do you get this error you mentioned? Volte works outta the box for u1 on tmobile, you won't find an option but it is working, you can check by making a call and it'll be on lte if you have volte, and visual voicemail you can't get integrated into dialer but you can use the stand alone app, only difference is the TMobile bloat bewtween the firmwares and the u1 has the native scam caller

You won't get the hd icon because that's a tmo firmware thing, doesn't mean volte isn't working, if your lte icon doesnt go away during a call you have volte, as for the VM app just download from playstore
^this! Good call!
U1 supports VoWifi and VoLTE. No VVM nor Video Calling. The VoLTE indicator is missing, yes, but U1 models have supported it on TMO since S8. RCS is likely not supported by the stock Messenger app.
Unlike the TMO var, U1 has Hiya built in. And of course there's no SIM unlock code.

"your current software version isn't supported. Visit a service center"

Are you sure you actually get better signal, or is it just visual adjustments which Carriers have been known to do?

And if it is signal, is it possible to flash U1 with the t-mobile modem?

The signal definitely improved a lot. With U1 I use to have one bar or no signal inside my office at work. Now, I have about 3 bars inside my office. In regard to mixing firmware, I believe it's not possible
so the U1 is on June update with Night mode available? or is it still on May?
