Since new updates (B370, B380), I have an issue with the camera.
The focus is terrible, and you can't proper take normal photos.
This is an example that I took recently:

i can not see the image, however, mine camera works fine
P8 camera blurring issue
i have same issue....
i definitely dont have this issue, are you sure you flashed rom right? or did you flash rom for your right model (GRA-09) ? maybe you could try this rom as the option: http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p8/development/rom-huawei-p8-gratitude-tecalote-t3468118 im recently using it too, not a single problem, i can not offer any other solution and i doubt someone else can, if none of this will fix it, i would recommend you to flash back lollipop and write to huawei support even they are kind of useless, but its worth to give it a try

try different camera, if is same issue ...might be caused by firmware
Same issue after last update B397
As stated, I've got the same exact misbehaviour of the back camera: the first second or two the focus is perfect, then it doubles the image.
It happens also in professional mode with manual focus.
I'm on GRA-L09C432B397 no root or anything else, only OTA updates when available.
Is there a way to solve the problem ?
Is there a way to flash again the full firmware to try to solve the problem or to downgrade back to another firmware to make the camera work again ?
If flashing is an opportunity can you link me a resource explaining what I have to do exactly ?
I did before on other phones, so I can follow technical guides about flashing and/or rooting if needed.

I did this thread nearly a year ago and I still have the same issue.
I have exactly this issue as you describe it.
First 2 seconds the focus is right, but after that, you have a double image.
I was thinking that this problem was an internal one (like a damage for a fall). But if this issue is appearing for a lot new people, this is a firmware issue.
But, I tried downgrade without results. Maybe we need to do extra steps to have a perfect clean rom.
We need to try to contact Huawei or contact an expert in roms for Huawei P8 to check problems.

You can try downgrading to Android 5.0.1 to check if it's a firmware problem.
I tried several downgrade and upgrade again. I tried changing ROM version and also tried L09, UL00 and UL10. not solved yet.
Then went to a HUAWEI Service Center;
they told me it is a physical problem, because of fall and they should change camera lenz/motor.
but i can't understand why i have not NFC in my phone!

I don't know why my camera clearly is super dum... And my sis clearly is awesome....
And i can't replace my mobile so please don't suggest me that....

No one can solve this :crying:
Seems to me that your camera lens has some dust stuck in it, I had faced similar problems on my old Nokia. Try prying open the back cover then checking if the lens is clean. The flash becoming yellow isn't possible

there is not a dust problem i check it first :crying: .... anyway thanks for suggestion .....
one more thing is that's problem comes with after flashing custom rom .... i try to install original n4 rom again but this problem not leave my n4 ....

I don't think this problem is software related, this is more hardware related. If all your efforts are failing then you'll have to show it in the service center, cause this is a rare problem

i can't show it in service center.... and my camera works very well in first stock rom .... but after try custom rom unlock bootloader rooted then thats happen ....

Which ROM was it? Then try installing other ROM's. Also note your problem on the ROM official thread too, maybe the developer can help

currently use cm11 m9 rom .... i am tried almost 5-6 roms including stock rom but problem is still there .....

Guys after flashing stock COJ3 my rear camera stopped working. I tried flashing COH4 and so many custom roms including CM roms. But camera does not work. Error message is '' Media server failed. Camera Needs restart''. . front camera works fine. Any fix for this problem???

I installed the OTA update BOK1 on my Note 4 910G.. and my rear camera stopped working. It says " Media server failed. camera needs restart"
I tried all the solutions posted like removing battery, camera force close clear cache and data, clear system cache, factory reset, hard reset etc.... But no use.
The service center guy tried replacing the camera saying its a hardware problem, but same message after installing new camera device also..
Can onyone please help it out... I am unable to sleep.

Same problem here. I also thought it is a hardware issue. I have tried everything but no luck. i have no option but to take it to a service center. Its been only about a year since i bought this phone. It is really frustrating to not to be able to use a flagship phone for at least a year without problems.

Sanjay, finally they say its motherboard problem.. and say we need to replace the motherboard which is very expensive as I am out of warranty by 1 month
But i dont think so.. i tried rooting and flashing custom roms also but no luck.. what did the service center guys say to you...

I still have not given my phone for repair. I would rather buy a new phone than replacing motherboard. My warranty is also voided because of rooting. I really liked the Note 4 until now. But sadly I will have to buy something other than Samsung. I have had a Galaxy S3 which also had similar motherboard issue.

if you still have warranty. Just flash the latest rom using odin and they even cant find you have rooted the phone. then you can claim your warranty and you will get it repaired for free..

No luck bro. I tried flashing a kitkat firmware too. I just cant give this phone away for repair because i need this phone for my work. Most probably i would have to replace the motherboard like your phone. If that is the case i will use this phone without repairing until i buy a new phone. I will let you know if i come across any solution.

Camera server failed, but sometimes weird artifacts
Hello. Usually my note 4's camera app just closes with camera server failed for the main camera, but, for the real experts on xda - I challenge the best of the best! - ... have some rare footage, when the camera barely works.
Things tried so far:
- clear cache and data of camera app
- install another camera app from the play store
- wipe cache partition
- factory reset
- replace camera hardware module
Observations:
- sometimes luminous areas show overflow lines
- pixel columns swapped from right to left
- purple noise lines everywhere
- freezing image and camera server error; please restart camera app message
Please direct me to anywhere someone knowledgeable exists. I can post high res images if interested.

Nothing happens on its own. You must have flashed something wrong. Or you could've dropped your phone.
BTW, if you flash stock ROM with stock recovery, they are not gonna find it. And you can easily get your phone repaired.

Definitely, the guy who changed it did something wrong. I don't see any other reason for this.

Well, they would atleast give it a look. Maybe, find out that somebody has opened it earlier. But, give it a try. And btw, why don't you go to the guy who changed your display. Tell him, its his fault. Maybe its just a loose wire and he could fix it.
And download from here instead, if you haven't started yet.

I've read loads of articles but can't seem to get a straight answer or find the relevant boot/recovery img
Is there a way to flash WW (specifically the latest official WW_V1.16.40.1524) firmware to replace CN on a ZE601KL.
If not is there a method to flash working Gapps. Failing that I might be convinced to go with Custom ROM.
If anyone was successful with any of the above on the ZE601KL CN version please let me know and point me to any files i would need, would be much appreciated.

CN versions has a slightly smaller /system partition which doesn't allow to flash WW firmware
You have to flash a "custom" /system if you want gapps

Thanks Luca I'll have a look but on ithe CyanogenMod site it states teZE601KL is not supported but I might just take that gamble.
To paparas64, I updated the FW since mine would shut down for no reason. this still happens but not as often.
If yours doe not switch off automatically don't update FW this voids warranty even with official rom. They have somehow loaded google to work on the FW provided. I'm not sure they stand a chance legally on the warranty issue or the fact they seem to have modded the FW or sideloaded gapps. They offered a few options but to keep the phone with $100 back was less effort than returning to China hoping a fix may become available

would you be able to confirm if ZE601KL is supported or will work. I have also not used Snapdragon processors before do these require ARM platform for apps as in your link.

Can you let me know how much the loudspeaker is not working. Does this prevent ringtones, alarms, calls and media. If its only media I would likely use this rom.
Also is the camera fw and software based on the ze601kl stock since I do like the camera functions and UI.

Loudspeaker doesn't work at all. Also you can use PixelMaster camera on CM.

Unfortunately I cannot seem to flash this or even flash TWRP.
I have Play store working now using this method should anyone need it http://www.technobuzz.net/proper-way-install-google-play-store-mi3-mi4-redmi-1s/
I've also appear to have stopped the power offs it seems to have been cased by ASUS Cover in settings (i don't have a cover on the phone) I've turned this off and the phone has stayed on all day

I just updated to android 7 last week. After update, my rear camera can't focus in all mode.
I tried to used laser rule, it still work.
I tried there ways but it still not work:
Update lasted version android and apps
Go to safe mode
Factory reset.
Wipe data
Wipe cache
Downgrade to RAW android 6 but because of sim and wifi issue so i must updated android 7 RAW by asus flash tool, then update android to lasted version.
I tried to chat with asus center and they told me go to nearest support center, but i need my fone for jobs.
Plz help me!!!!

Send your phone to Service Centre. They will fix it for you.
It's a known problem, write on ZenTalk and wait for asus official reply. They'll send you an APK to create a logcat, after then you have to update the file and send to them.
They're working on this issue.
This issue occur not since Anroid N upgrade, but only since Firmware WW_14.2020.1703.28 (Changelog said : Improved Camera Performance and "Adds new Function" (No. 4 Change Log))

I think Marshmallow's PixelMaster camera is better than Nougat but it's weird that your camera's focus issue persist eventhough you have downgraded to Android 6.

I never Downgrade my Zenfone 3 to Android 6/M.
Still using Android 7/N untill now.
As I said, The focus Problem occur NOT since since Android 7, but only since WW_14.2020.1703.28 Firmware.
Even the latest one WW_14.2020.1704.38 Still got focus issue.
in Zentalk forum, the Admin still collecting data for this issue, they send (including me) the LOGCAT Tools for reporting this issue.

what do you mean "flash light" i read it is a laser sensor problem, try to use the "laser meter" and it will show you different distance each time. But I still can't fix it.
Just installed the latest update (earl-Dec with November security updates).
Still no fix.
The issue seems biggest for me in short focus - eg. scanning a barcode is impossible - the camera cannot macro focus at all.
For shots further away it appears better, but if you zoom in their is still a focus issue.
Can't believe this has been going on for months
None of the solutions mentioned upthread - reset settings, clear sensor, clear cache, bright light have done anything

I tried this tutorial but the problem remains:
settings - app - fotocamera - storage - clear data
than restart the device.
It did not work for me.
i have ze553kl and same problem. our customer service advise to sent to repair but i wonder what can they do.
there is lots of people having same problem and there is no one said that fixing the problem.
i've returned a zenfone 2 and i said never buy another zenfone but silly me. i go and buy zenfone 3. i think this will returned to.
Any update on how to fix it? Will downgrading to older OREO versions prior to camera bug fix it? I noticed this bug started this August or July Update
