Home screen won't rotate? - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I'm with Verizon, I've tried 2 launchers in settings, the Home with separate Apps list and Nova launcher.
Text messaging, youtube, websites, gallery etc all rotate but the home screen and the other 2 pages I scroll to find apps don't rotate horizontally?
Any fix to this?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not on VZW,but, have you checked the Settings of the phone (Accessibility).
There should be an option to check off for Nova once installed, ensure you grant that permission. Also double-check the Nova app settings for auto-rotate.
If that does nothing for you,try this app from the Google Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate&hl=en
You'll have prompt(s) to grant accessibility settings access/approval for it to work properly, then proceed to customize on a per-app basis,or,simply choose your desired settings for the entire phone.

How do you add a settings widget shortcut?

How do you add a settings shortcut for battery and wifi manager on the home screen? I've been scouring through the widgets and nothing seems to appear, normally with all other phones a "settings" widget is available and you get to choose which settings you want a link to.
Thanks

i was using the galaxy note ii for a while and loved settings widget/shortcut. i moved on to the galaxy note 3 on a different carrier. i also have sm-n9005. both note 3s do not have the settings widget. it is frustrating. what i recommend is installing action launcher by chris lacy. it will add 2 widgets to the widget launcher/menu. choose the activities widget. the list of apps and settings that populates is more extensive than the note ii's version. there you can add bluetooth, data usage, wifi, and tethering one by one. after creating all the shortcuts i needed, uninstalled action launcher. remember to keep touchwiz as your default launcher in the beginning of the process.
(on a side note, action launcher is great. i even purchased the pro key. however, i just don't like the way apps look in folders. in addition, 1x1 widgets do not align properly with regular app icons sometimes. as for 4 row widgets, it automatically adds margins/padding so they look more align with other same sized widgets. some 4 row widgets on touchwiz go edge to edge which is annoying. in regards to the s pen features, air command did not pop up on action. honorable mention, shutters is a great action feature. last mention, i don't use action on the note 3.)

Nova Launcher not working well with G2?

Hi Guys,
I installed Nova Launcher and the knock knock feature to turn off the screen is not working
Any work around?

Hi,
Double tap on the notification bar area...
Below is a little app you can add to assist Nova. Install this from the link below at the Play Store, then set Nova up that a Double Tap will execute the app. You can double tap any where on the screen, you are not limited to just the Notification bar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cillinsoft.scrnoff
Double-tapping the notification bar will work. You can also install the Screen Off app from the Play Store, here. Make sure to open the Screen Off Settings and activate it. Then in Nova Settings, go to Gestures and Buttons-->Double tap, select the Apps tab, scroll down and select the Screen Off app. Knock off should work just as it used to.

apps menu

Is their anyway to change from having apps on main screen and having to slid across to browse apps installed. Is their a way to make a apps button and then go into this and browse though apps and have shortcuts to them on home screen instead of just having to slid and swipe though screens?

Install other launchers that support app drawer. To name few Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher, etc..
Sent from my ALE-L21 using XDA-Developers mobile app
As amageek pointed out, you have to install a 3rd party launcher software to get the desired layout, you mentioned.
By personal experience, I recommend Nova. I bought the Prime version(there is a free version as well), wich removes all sorts of ADs, give some extra functionality, and makes the phone a bit more like an AOSP ROM, at least launcher-wise.
An other solution is to make folders in the Huawei Launcher, which almost works as the app drawer in any launcher. The back-side of this is, that you have to make it manually to fit your needs.

Anyone got this working on OnePlus? Some comments say for non-Pixel phones, we need to use shortcut in Nova Launcher to get this menu? Anyone know how to do it?

When I lookup under shortcuts I don't see any sound app to select? There is some sound which is basically listening song thing
It pops up as an option for me when changing ringtones in hangouts, whatsapp, and a few others. In some, such as gmail, I don't get the option. I made a shortcut to it with Action launcher by selecting it as an activity. Haven't used Nova for a while but it used to be you could do the same thing there.
