Redmi 3s 2g network issue - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I have been facing really bad network issue for redmi 3s prime.. Basically there is alot of people facing this issue.. The problem is when network drop to 2g it will not revert back to 3g or 4g.. One of the facing issue sometimes when i drop it will go to IWLAN..
The workaround tips is we use 2 sims and sacrifice our sd card..which some of us dowan to..one other tip is to open gps and open google maps and let it run on background..which will drain our battery..
Some of the user said it is kernel issue, some rom issue and some said it is hardware issue..
I hope someone here will help to sort this problem..

There is no fix. Even with using Second SIM my phone (international model) kept dropping to 2G. It is also missing bands it claims to have. Only fix possible is if Xiaomi update their radio/modem drivers.

Dear Friends,
has some who owned note 4 faced a continuous loosing data connection?
I have been facing this issue for the passed one week till now, I have tried to format the device but the problem is still there, I have not done anything to the device.
I called my ISP and they said that there is no problem with your sim card.
please advise if anyone of you had similar issue.

I've just experienced this today on my 1 day old N910C, I'm on 4G and suddenly earlier today my 4G mobile data indicator disappeared but it still showing the usual signal bars. Tested browsing, no mobile data it said. Tried putting it to Airplane mode then back to normal, didn't bring mobile data back. Rebooted it, then it's working again.
Not yet to see this problem but my friend's Note 4 had this problem. In the end he brought it to the service center and they replace the mainboard. Still wait and see if it fixes the problem.
it happened me before on other samsung devices too. generally an update fixes it but could be hardware problem too.
Hopefully its software related ive seen a slew of note 4s have this issue both variants included.. its annoying to say the least
Hi, I just got my phone, may i know whether you guys have resolved the issues?? i need to turn the flight mode on and off a few times to get the data connection back online
I sent back to Samsung services center, it seems that they said they reprogram the software. Will observe and see how it goes.
Mines all good now few updates and new provider all good ?
Hi guys, I've experienced the same issue, the mobile data connection suddenly drops (H+ icon doesn't disappear but the download arrow is off, meaning that there's no inbound traffic) and the only way to have the connection back is to to disable mobile data and than reactivate it. I've updated my phone, I even tried to install firmwares of other countries (different csc) and to change carrier but I haven't solved the problem (same situation on my friend's N4).

100% solution for my note:
go to settings=>location=>use GPS ONLY.
perhaps it solves also your problem...

Yes this is BS. If I go to a place with no data service, then travel back to a place with data service, I have to first disable then re-enable the "Mobile Data" toggle in the settings. It's such BS that this is happening. My note 3 NEVER has this problem. Starting to dislike Samsung's buggy releases.

Any news on topic? I'm facing with internet on mobile connection, even if bars are full and LTE sign is visible.
I've also noticed some lack of signal during usage, even if I'm constantly in city.

HELP! OnePlus 2 has extremely weak mobile network signal and only connects to 2G

I bought a used OnePlus 2, and it seems to be the Chinese version. I'm in Europe.
It's in perfect condition, no scratches or water damage but was sold as faulty as it could not recognise any sim card. The previous owner claims this happened when he updated from one version of Oxygen OS to another stable version of Oxygen OS.
I updated to Oxygen OS 3.0 beta and after some research I went to fastboot mode and erased modemst1, modemst2 and persist. I rebooted and now it found the sim card but the sensors went crazy. I then flashed a new persist.img and the sensors are back to normal.
However half the time there is no network signal and when I get a signal it is very weak. On the few times it connects to mobile internet I can only get 2G. When the icon shows 3G, H, H+, or LTE the internet connection doesn't work at all.
I flashed both stable and beta versions of Oxygen OS but the problem remains. I also played about with the *#*#4636#*#* mode and no band mode worked any better.
Is it a software issue, and if it is how do I fix it?
Or is it a hardware issue and I need a new motherboard? From where do I buy a motherboard? I didn't find one on AliExpress or Ebay.

[HELP] Jio 4g. Horrible Connection.

The data connection on my phone goes away after every few mins. It's very unstable. Also all of a sudden there's no VOLTE. I've tried all APN methods. I was previously on Mokee, and the problem started. I went back to miui, the problem was solved for the evening. But it started again.
If anyone has any solution. Please help. I cant even call using 4gVoice app. I want a permanent solution .

The sim worked fine on k6 power.
I solved it by going back to miui and then flashing mokee.
Yet, it's surprising that it happens so randomly.
Probably something to do with default APN.

One of my friend said that jio by default takes band 5 for better coverage which trades-off with connection speed(low internet speed). One way is, to switch the band from 5 to 3 or 40, which might improve speed. This can be done in something called "service mode" in the phone. He had LG G3 and used some secret key in phone dialler to access service mode. That key however didn't work with Redmi 3s prime. I'm still searching for one.

Thanks for the reply.
Though it's more about VOLTE, it's not working. Even if it does work with a certain rom, it goes away after a few reboots.
FYI: I don't have fluctuating connection anymore.
Though I really wish that there was a proper solution for VOLTE

But I do need volte.
For now I'm on the latest LOS, and everything is working fine for now.
A small tip to anyone reading this, never greenify any Qualcomm, and codeaurora service.

Though, for now, the problem is solved.
I'm on the latest lineage OS, and have hardly faced signal drops. Volte too seems to be working fine now.
Miui seems to lock our bands at 800mhz which hinders the net speed, switching to 3g/2g in low network areas, to maximize network coverage.
That can be tackled, if you use an app called 'network signal guru' , to lock the bands to a higher frequency, for preference to Internet. Requires root though.

you need to give us more info
so I assume you have tried all of these sort of fix (this is for samsungs)

so you have
1) tried another sim
2) test your current sim in another phone
3) do any network show in network settings
4) is your imei showing correctly
if all that seems ok then maybe it's hardware eg failed component, lose connection to antenna etc
you need to tell us your exact failure
I tried all the options what you mentioned in the above but still i am not getting the signal strength.when i am trying to select the signal in manual mode it us shiwing that no network found it is showing.

anyone esle having issues with idea 4g

I'm having so many bugs in Idea 4g network. Is there anyone else. Is there any way to fix these.

Same here bro. The same Idea sim works perfectly in other phones. But, in Zenfone Max Pro M1 there are problems like low data speed & signal loss intermittently.
More problem is when sim is in 2nd slot, signal gets lost totally..and to recover back the signal, a reboot is required.
I hope this software problem gets solved in next update.
