Hello guys
As of now allmost of g5 users can upgrade to nougat . and i did .. And i found good performance "antutu 146k" and good camera optimization but and vulkan ... But problem of vulkan is not full support as i tested ppsspp and dolphin emulators and they crash with vulkan ... So anyone share with us your experience
Thanks
I'd also like to see if ther is support for Vulkan on our phones..
Sent from my LG-H850 using Insomdroid
I tried hit ..online game that support vulkan same graphics not like s7 ... ..same as nfs no limits ...
I tried Vainglory beta (with vulkan support) and it works...
Lg g5 vulkan
Hi, I have an lg g5 h850. Do I have vulkan api support? And if i do... how could i know?

You do. Nougat ,(7.0) equals Vulkan support .
It works. I've been playing twilight princess using vulkan backend in Dolphin emulator
full compatibility of Vulkan API is snapdragon 830 and more,if I'm not wrong........LG G5 have a snapdragon 820.

You can check online but here is the thing.. If you have SD820 and up + Android Nougat 7.x.x your device supports Vulcan.
Many emulators and games for those emulators are not working properly for other reasons but the point is.. LG G5 SUPPORTS Vulcan API.

Can anyone tell me if Samsung galaxy s4 can record 720p video in 60 fps???
At this moment, on stock app, no. But both the Snapdragon 600 and the Octa-core chipset supports [email protected] natively, so I predict it coming to the phone unofficially.

Hi, I currently have a Moto G (2014) and I want to change my phone.
I don't know if I should wait for the moto G5 (I don't know the release date) or buy the G4 now.
I heard that it will be not much better than the G4 anyway ?
Also another question , how's the x265(1080p) decoding on Moto G4 ? Most of my video files are encoded in x265..
G5 images was fake... Go for g4 plus
Dunno

I havent had any problems with G4+. I dont play many games and I dont record long videos so I havent had any heat issues. I bought 64gb for $250 on Swappa.
I unlocked bootloader, Seamless root without any hiccups. Great device for me.
I dont think the Moto G series will get much better than the current Moto G4+ for a year or two.
PS I also have Moto G3 2015 as my oops phone. There is an advantage with Moto G4+.
Unless I'm mistaken it's the same hardware just with a fingerprint sensor and more storage options. I have the regular G4 and like it and wouldn't use the fingerprint anyways. If you want more storage it's probably cheaper to get like a 32-64gb as card for cheaper than the price difference of buying the other phone model. Just my opinion.
Go for Moto G4 plus now !
Go for G4+ as the G5 news cannot be relied upon. Also, your G(2014) is way too old, if you wanna change your phone, G4+ would be best so far in that price range. Waiting for G5 at this stage will make you halt for atleast a year-and-half from now, and would not contain much of the "GREATER" changes. As for codec support, the device (G4+) works perfectly fine with the x265(1080p) decoding. In fact it works brilliant with all codecs.
Wait for REDMI 4 PRIME ( Snapdragon 625, 4000mAh battery,3GB RAm,32 gb internal, fingerprint scanner), all under 15K!!!!!
Its rumoured to launch in India in Jan/Feb.
I would hold my horses and wait for its launch,Snapdragon 617 is one of the worst performing Soc ever(I didn't forgot Snapdragon 810 v2.1)
PS: I have nothing against g4 plus except that mediocre processor used by Moto to save cost!! I recommended my sister to buy moto g4 plus, it's an excellent camera phone under 15K,if not the best budget phone.

The phone throttles very soon and is not good basic functionality like recording FHD videos as the frame drops starts to occur and is even present in the saved video file. Also not good for gaming more than 30min!!!!!!

It was fixed some months ago. No overheating issues viewing VR 360º videos or playing Asphalt 8 in latest MM or Nougat.
Hi everyone, it is possible to shot hdr+ photos on Moto G5 Plus?
I don't think the ISP on the 625 chip can handle HDR+. You could try to look into the mod made for the Nexus 5X, but it uses the 808 chip. Probably the best place to start.

Well of course not, that mod is designed for the Nexus 5X. I was saying that the mod may give you an idea of how to do it for the G5 Plus, but obviously that mod wouldn't work for our phone.
Yes, it is possible with custom ROM.
Aug. 11 Google Camera with HDR+ https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-hdr-ported/
The APP CANNOT work on Moto G5 Plus with stock ROM, but runs well on foollowing devices:
ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom (ZE553KL) Snapdragon 625 + IMX 362 (same as Moto G5 Plus)
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon 625 + LineageOS 14.1 or Resurrection Remix OS or AOSP
Please share the HDR+ photo comparission if you succeed.

Amazon versions of the G5 Plus can apparently be rooted but they have to be on the initial firmware. Apparently updating the stock firmware to NPNS25.137-35-5 or above potentially breaks the ability to root. Someone else around here said the phone is a 64bit but for battery reasons Moto didn't enable it.
It works but there is a focusing issue ?

When I checked the code camera 2 had some simulation convergence which required focus and auto Exposure to converge at the same time I think the ae thread holds up the process so focus works sometimes other times it's out of :fingers-crossed focus
The workaround was to modify the gcam code and break the AF trigger and set the focus to off this mode allows us Moto g5 users to lock focus at driver level at a specific distances i mostly shoot landscapes sometimes macro so I have a zaf config file to 1000cm settable distances are 7cm 10 14 20 30 40 50 60 120 hyperfocal 1000cm to switch files/config can be done via scripts it's quick I personally don't find it as a big deal as we gain hdr+ .
Also have a modified driver for low light that and paired with hdr+ low light is pretty darn good imo with modified lib not even the pixel could keep up.
Also about 64bit being required this apk is not from 4pda and is modified from the last 32bit gcam

Is this only for stock ROM or should also work on custom ROMs? Someone above mentioned that it crashes on LOS.
Saying "modified driver for low light", you mean your noise reduction/sharpening mod?
Thanks in advance for reply and for your work on camera app.
Does the Moto G5 Plus have Vulkan API?
Yes
Yes, Snapdragon 625 support Vulkan API.

I tested it with the ppsspp emulator and it worked perfectly

Go to celesovas google camera mod apps page, where u can fine various versions available i personally use arnova g2's v8.3 one cause that worked best for me and I'm also using the 3gb version:good:
It is said that the gcam causes a battery drain issue. I think you had better take that into account.
