Help me to improve my U8800!! plz - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hi there!, i read a lot of post about u8800 custom rom, (and ofc the index) but there is my question..
1. Fine i have a lot of Custom Roms, and i see at least 4 that i can use (and recomended in the index) i wanna use Ice Cream Sandwich version (this is one of those): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2135266&referrerid=3996356
but i read on many post that i need a pre-requisite to install those roms like X.x.x version. (or someone recommend one better?)
2. what kind of stuff i need to make that Rom change right? ofc i know i need drivers, unlock bootloader, Clockwork Mod, and the ROM, but there is any other thing i should know?.
Phone Specs: Huawei Ideos U8800-51, Android Version: 2.2.2. and have default Android System.
i want to install a better android version, uninstall those useless apps that came by default with the phone, and get the same speed or faster than before install custom ROM.
Thanks for Read.

well since there is not response. i made a bump.

Black screen and lag on i9000 2.2

Hi guys,
I am new to android world n amature in doing techy things on my mobile. I have updated my os from 2.1 to 2.2 via kies.
I get lag n black screens on my usage. Can anyone help me?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
i laso get some lag end som blackscreens
but i have already done the lagfix.
but i have the brazilian version, also with 2.2 with
baseband i900bvjjpd
kernel 2.6.32.9 [email protected]_lation #3
dunoo if its maybe an app, but i have watchdog and there are no apps misbehaving :/
first of all i think your both in the wrong thread lol, wont get noticed much in this section.......... but anyway
Are you using 2.2 or 2.2.1 ?? there are alot of fixes in the 2.2.1 and is a lot quicker for a stock ROM.
if you wanted even more speed you could go for a custom ROM there is loads to chose from.... but it can get a bit technical so if your unsure DONT DO IT !!!
There are a few things to consider:
- as stated above, you should make sure you get the latest, because 2.2.1 should be available (even officially) pretty much everywhere
- after flashing a factory reset is recommended to get the best performance (do a backup before so you can restore anything)
- there are better kernels out there that can speed up things and make your experience smoother (speedmod, voodoo, tegrak, etc)
- there are custom roms out there that are junk free and should provide a richer better experience.
Hi,
I know my question may be weired to some of experience people out here.
but i am really confused
What is difference between linux kernal update and flashing rom.
how to update kernel on my samsung galaxy s (I9000 2.2 default by samsung)
Thanks
Kernels and ROMs go hand it hand, it pointless getting a custom ROM and keeping stock Kernel. or vice versa
if you look it the development section and look for kernels (speedmod, Voodoo ect) there is a detailed step by step guide to installing them, and what benefits they have... it will make more sense for you to read through it all, than it would for us to try break it down into simple terms

Finding out what ROM was installed

Hey
I used to have a nice ROM installed with a kernel that allowed overclocking. I would run my shift at 1.5Ghz and was really happy. Then when Gingerbread was coming out, I decided to flash a Gingerbread ROM because I was just excited for 2.3
Now there were not kernels for Gingerbread ROMs at that time. So formatted/wiped everything from my device using Clockwork Recovery. Now here's where I have a few questions:
After I wiped the entire device, when my phone booted, it seemed to have 2.3 installed so I assumed that since there was an OTA update for Gingerbread, it must have gotten updated somehow. I want to find out whether I have a custom ROM with 2.3 installed or is it a regular Gingerbread stock ROM that's on my device?
I would like to find out what kind of ROM is installed on my device right now and do whatever it takes to be able to flash a kernel that allows overclocking, because going back to 800Mhz from 1500Mhz is just not doing it.
I would also really appreciate if someone gave me direct links to a custom ROM (since I understand at this time it is impossible to flash an overclocked kernel, since HTC has not released official Gingerbread source code yet) with a flashable kernel that's completely stable and allows overclocking to 1.5Ghz.
I really don't care about the whole Cynaogen Mod etc, because I use LauncherPro anyway and from what I understood when I was reading about Cyanogen Mod, it doesn't change THAT much other than adding a little bit more functionality and mainly focusing on changing the phone interface, which is completely irrelevant to me.
Thank you in advance.

If you just did a wipe and didn't flash anything, your still running the same ROM as you were before the wipe. If you go into setting > about phone > software information > more, this will tell you your current ROM (build version). If you would like to continue using Sense but want to overclock I would suggest MikShift 1.1, otherwise I would suggest the Shift Deck ROM. Both can be overclocked with several different kernels, just do a little reading through the dev section to see what best suites you.
Disregard, just typed what crump said but he beat me to it!

[Q] setCPU

Hi...I have just bought my new Huawei U8800 and I am a complete noob in the android world. So, I want to to put my CPU at 1,2 Ghz with setCPU and I have read that I need to put a custom ROM and change the kernel and I just don't know wich of both I should use or even how to install them..... I have read that Franco's kernel is pretty good, but again, I'm a noob....
Thanks for the answers in antecipation...
1. You need root: ROOT
2. You need clockwork recovery: RECOVERY
3. Then you can upgrade to custom ROM : VOID or OXYGEN or MIUI Void is probably the most stable, but Oxygen and MIUI is Android 2.3. There are a few more ROM's, but this is the best @ XDA.
4. You can now download SetCPU, buy from market or download here: SetCPU
5. If you want you can install franciscofranco's kernel for you ROM: FRANCO.KERNEL I use it for my Oxygen ROM.
You need to read a little bit to understand what to do, but in the end it's all worth it

Thanks for your answer, I just don´t understand what you mean when you say tha OXYGEN and MIUI are android 2.3????
That is the version; Froyo is "Android 2.2.x" and Gingerbread is "Android 2.3.x". So Void is Android 2.2.2 Froyo, Oxygen and MIUI are Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. Gingerbread is newer than Froyo, and better
so, if i install OXYGEN or MIUI, i get android gingerbread in my phone, right???
Yes, but MIUI looks not like stock 2.3 Gingerbread, while Oxygen does. Watch som videos on YouTube. I personally like MIUI and will use it as my default ROM when it becomes stable/bugfree, but now it isn't and Oxygen has a little fewer bugs. But, You must choose what you like and want
If you install the latest version of OXygen, you don't need SetCPU anymore. It has all it's functions embedded in the Oxygen Settings.

Did you managed to install a custom ROM? There is a new version of MIUI with almost no bugs which I'm pretty happy with
I didn't do it yet, I had connection problems in my computer, but I just want to ask another two thigs:if I root my phone will I have the same language in the system, and if I put a custom ROM??? And if I have any problems with the phone, can a flash the original ROM because of the warranty???How????
Rooting the phone does not change the language selection. Not all custom ROMs necessarely support all languages though, just try it out.
If you want to revert your phone to stock settings just download the firmware directly from huawei (there is a install-guide provided i think).

[Q] Deodexed recent ROM ? (XXMC2)

Hello,
I've tried to search the forum, but I only found customed ROM. It seems the latest ROM is XXCM2 (Changelist 1230243) for Europeans: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-S5360
I'd like someone skilled to apply the basic stuff to this ROM. I guess the base is to deodex the ROM and make it a CWM package. Maybe it will need a % Battery mod too.
After that, everyone would be able to customize the ROM (remove bloatware with applications like link2sd or Root App Delete/uninstaller).
For now, on forum I see only custom ROM without stock UI (often ugly) and often it's not precised on which official ROM it is based, and it seems that most of these developers/cookers don't use the latest Samsung firmware as base...
If someone skilled can help, thanks in advance, else I'll give up with this phone.

only if you want to edit smali files you need to deodex, and for removing stock bloatware it isn't needed.

Can someone help me build a stable stock ROM?

I am planning to build my own custom stock ROM, I need help with a few things..!
1)I want to make a prerooted deodexed stock ROM - So my question is from Base ROM of the latest new build, how and where do i find that. I have an idea of how to deodex the ROM, but suggestions are welcomed. Also, if I make a new ROM, from fully stock, how do i make it prerooted with no bugs at all using the latest TWRP recovery.
a) SO, according to my thinking..I will obviously need a fully stock Marshmallow ROM with the latest build, I will root it and then copy the whole ROM to my folder and edit from that? Is that what has to be done? If no..plz assist.
2)I like to use fonts - so I want my ROM to have it pre-installed with a beautiful font
3)Battery tweak - I need some help in building a build.prop file,
4)Performance - I need to make this ROM as stable as it is stock, so i really don't mind to make the performance a little faster.
5)I wanted to also install some good theme pre-installed in my ROM, so would it be possible? if yes how to do it.
I have a basic idea on how to build a ROM, i just need someone to help me with this and whoever can help, will definitely get all the credits
a) we can definitely work together and keep building this ROM for more performance.
b)We will also try to update it with the latest builds as and when required.
SO, someone who is really willing to help are all welcomed
Hoping someone can help me build a ROM for our beloved Moto X play.
