GSM/CDMA - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Does the phone come with capability for both GSM and CDMA, or do you purchase which ever one you need?

Bro just search the forum.

Thanks Bro. I have. I see both listed in specs, as if both come on the phone. I don't see anyone specifically saying if you need to get one or the other.

Appreciate the reply. Thanks given.
I made the mistake of making the question a two optoin question. I presume by 'Yes it does' is the answer the the first option, which means the phone covers both, so a person could goto whichever carrier he wanted between VZ and any of the GSM carriers.
Thanks again.

Sorry for the double post. Long time for refresh and I ended up double posting. Forum apparently doesn't allow users to delete posts.

Correct. The phone will work on all major US carriers

Any chance in hell a mod will see this and actually reply?

Would be really nice if you guys would split out the subforums and have a Sprint CDMA section, a GSM section, etc. Or by 7" then CDMA.
Something. I know its been asked at least 50 times. And complained about at least 5billion more.
It SUCKS having to pour through TONS of posts to only find 923234 posts later its a stupid GSM-only rom or issue.
Someone is gonna get ban or probably infraction . Wth wrong with u?
1st u asking a question in the general section and u asking to split the tabs
Its not gonna happen . So perhaps u need to change the thread name .
Edit: every thread in dev section got Gsm or cdma tag . So its probably your mistake to read 100000page and after all it show up is not for ur tab . Rofl

To be more polite about it:
The dev forum was already split due to overwhelming requests.
Shortly thereafter it was re-merged due to even more overwhelming requests.
Read the tags as much as possible in the thread titles. And lastly, try not to emulate the above poster and use full words and sentences.

Brilliant. Just brilliant.
But it really isn't difficult telling what rom is for what model. All roms have either CDMA or GSM in the title if its for a specific device. If not, the dev forgot and it *should* be in their first post.

Not sure I understand what you meant by that. This forum is only for the 7" Tab, and there wouldn't be any point in creating more divides with carriers, if that's what you mean.

we definitely need a moderator to reply and delete this useless thread of yours. lol
I agree.
It was easier finding what you were looking for when it was split.
To bad it cant be an option

Hmmm, any chance in hell?
Yes looks like it
As for splitting the forums...
It was tried, it failed. 'nuff said.....
Any responsible Dev will clearly label their work as to whether it is for CDMA or GSM in the thread title or OP. If they cannot manage this then do you really trust their work anyway.
Also, you could have PM'd a mod instead of creating a sarky thread.
Hope that adresses your issues.

I do, but PRL is only 1/10th of the problem. and the EVO 4G is completely different and the memory address on that would be a different location on this phone.
I won't stop you from trying, but here you go. It's all the DFS information

And it is common knowledge, why don't you look up "samsung epic meid repair".

You use a standard VERIZON PRL.

I obviously posted my number for a reason, I have an android device, with the ability to block numbers from texting me.
I've been here long enough to know what threads get trolled, and which do not.
I'm trying to do the same thing except I'm trying to switch to straight talk and I have a sph-d720. I need to know if there's a certain sim card I need to get from straight talk?
I've flashed one to Page Plus (a prepaid network that uses Verizon), and it works fine.
I used these instructions: http://bubhutsa.blogspot.com/2011/11/nexus-s-4g-pageplus.html
I initially had an issue getting it to activate because the esn was incorrectly printed under the battery, but customer support recommended I try the esn number in the status menu, which worked. Other than that, it wasn't all too difficult if you are comfortable modifying your phone.
You would probably be happy with a used gsm nexus s and prepaid TMobile

I'm not sure. What is the $50 plan you are talking about? I am talking about the plans at pagepluscellular.com.

[Q] Pre-paid plans

I have U.S. Cellular, but with the N4 being GSM only it looks like I'll have to either go AT&T, or T-Mobile. But, with it being unlocked, can I use it on pre-paid plans, like T-Mobile, Family Mobile, or Straight Talk?

[Q] C6602 vs C6603

Hello all,
Deciding to choose between the C6602 or C6603. I am in the US and it would be on Tmobile. Do both support HSPA+? I've also read that the ZL baseband can be flashed for LTE support in CA, has anyone tested in the US for AT&T or Tmobile? From what I understand, the ZL baseband supports those bands.
I would like to be able to choose between LTE and HSPA+
What is the best choice for my situation. These bands confuse me so I apologize, I did my research and this is my last resort to get a clear answer.
Cheers.

Starting new threads in the wrong section about a subject that has a few threads already that I've shown can be found by Googling your own thread title is quite annoying to regular members who come here everyday.

That doesn't give you the right to talk down to someone or give condescending responses. I posted in the wrong section, that has happened before and will happen again by others.
And I feel like you are saying because I don't "come here everyday" or post all the time is insulting. This is why I don't post, because they're is always someone ready to criticize at the blink of an eye.
I felt like my question was worth asking. I looked up and searched but my question differs slightly. I am in the US and was wondering if anyone else tried LTE.

....who care? you think i care if my account got blocked? i'll just make another one, ban my IP? i'll just refresh it big deal... its not like i'm getting paid for typing on forum genius.
OP - You should have searched & posted in the correct section. I'm not going to lecture you on this, we all have better things to do with our time.
The Rest - Seriously? What is your problem? Why can't you all just get on? If you have nothing constructive to say, don't post. This is the internet, if you're getting mad at someone you don't even know posting in the wrong place you take things way too seriously.
@G1_enthusiast - You think that XDA being a developers forum we don't have ways to know about duplicate accounts? Did you know that most browsers can be queried for a unique installation ID? IP's are an ancient and ineffective way to track users.

Possible to change IMEI?

I see hundreds of people selling their new contract phones on ebay and the like, and everyone buys them. Nothing's stopping the original seller to report the phone as stolen a few months or even years down the line, resulting in that phone's IMEI being blocked. This leaves the buyer with a very expensive door stop.
Is there a way to change the IMEI in such an event?

For trying to obtain general information? It's not illegal everywhere so I'm not allowed to ask the question based on the fact that it's illegal in the US and UK?
Maybe someone else can shed some light.
I believe this thread details (or at least links to) the legalities (or rather illegalities) of changing an IMEI code. That's just the first one I found with a quick search. As you can see it was locked.

IMEI Tampering is prohibited on XDA.
