Accelerometer Changescreen, way too slow...will work on tweaking-after freeing up program memory from push and opera much better
Tflo does not work in bing
Verizon apps plague the start menu- fixed
Pandora vga works but not really
Skyfire malfunctioning sound driver-when installing from app store no issues (weird)
App store as of now still blows-yep still does
Working with FusionPlus, but as of now not syncing-fixed
Verizon Visual voicemail not workingIf you are still an "alltel customer" you can not use any verizon app except vz navi (who cares it sucks anyway) fusion plus works great
GOOD
Screen Sensitivity and fluid scrolling perfect
My location weather awesome
Keyboard Suprisingly good with XT9
Zoom bar is integrated beautifully
Flip phone upside down to turn speaker phone on, impressive
Htc start menu very good
Battery life light years better than my old touch pro's
Volume in call and system, beautiful and crisp
Camera pics are beautiful
Kickstand is convient for beautiful youtube viewing on huge screen
This phone is very impressive overall. I am very happy with it. It will do very nicely till the HD2 comes along.
Got mine Friday after my Mogul finally bit it.
The Imagio is the 1st phone I've been able to really use right out of the box with minimal tweaking. I spent no less than a couple of weeks tweaking and working with the kitchen to get the Mogul where I wanted it but the Imagio is running fine and stable (with its bloatware).
I was able to use the Microsoft My Phone to upload all my docs, contacts, etc. prior to turning off my old phone and d/l all that into the Imagio with no problems.
Got TomTom installed with no problems, TCPMP and WVD, and all my other apps (after loading .net CF 3.5 from M$).
I agree with your Pros and Cons above and am just waiting for some smart Chef to come up with the tools needed to strip out all of the useless stuff from VZW.

2.99/month its worth it if you need to document or archive your voicemail other than that no real use for it only if your to lazy to actually use the automated portion of your voicemail.

$2.99/month... I got my Imagio on October 7th, and I've been using Visual VM ever since without issue.
Honestly though, i guess i was envisioning that it would transcribe my vm's on the screen so i wouldn't have to listen to them, but for $2.99/month, I figure I'll try it for a bit and then decide later if i want to make it permanent.

Volume Control Problem
Here's one for the problem list:
Sitting on the train listening to Sirius through my WM5 app is great, but you can't set the ringer to vibrate while the system volume is turned up.
Unless I'm missing something. I did find that you can separate ringer and system volumes in setting, but changing one changes the other.
My only work-around right now is to set the ringer type to vibrate then ring and hope that I can answer the phone before it starts ringing.
hey X-Man what sirius app do you use?
It bugs me I cant move the first 3 apps at the top of the start menu.
other than small things like that, so far I love this phone

You can change this in the registry by going to:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher\#\
Where # = 0-3 and open the IsReadOnly key and change it from 1 to 0 for each of them. That will unlock those buttons on the launcher.

UPDATE FYI: As far as I can tell from what I am hearing, this update is the same as the one in SOAK right now. I do not know if this is true, but the version numbers add up. Once the update goes live, we will see what happens.
I figured I would put this little change guide up for some of those who are on the fence about updating. So far I have updated and couldn't be happier. I will continue to update this when I find a new change or feel like going into more detail on some of these items.
Changes in 2.3.4
- Revamped UI: New MotoBlur, Different Color Scheme, New Icons
- New Apps: Rich Location, New Tasks App, Music Store, Help Center, Mobile HotSpot
- Updated Apps: Gallery App, Camera App, Camcorder App, Email App, Task Manager, Text Messaging App, Music App, Calendar App
- Profiles option: Choose between Everyday, Work, and Weekend
- New Settings: Media Audio Effects, SD Card Notifications, In-Pocket Detection, Unknown Sources and others
Motoblur -
- UI: The update implements the New Motoblur that has been seen on a few other phones. Included in this UI update is the ability to use multiple profiles. The Menu Dock has changed along with some locations of settings and menus.
We Also have some new Icons for several programs such as the Internet Brower. The Transition screens and the lock screen effect has also changed. When you turn off the screen now, it acts like the Gingerbread animation (CM7). The apps drawer also has sorting features now via a drop down menu.
Update: New feature added to the Notification Bar. You can now remove individual notifications from the list without affecting the rest of the notifications.
New Apps -
- Rich Locations: A new app similar to Google Maps that gives you local places, couples, and even local singles (match.com). You can even view local singles profiles.
- New Tasks App: Included is a tasks app that is rather quick and easy to use. Gives the option to send notifications to the task bar, and persistant reminders. Several different options for priority. No sync to google tasks though.
- Music Store: Well this one is rather obvious and if you don’t know how to use an app store or music store, please return your phone and purchase a dumb phone.
- Help Center: Guided Tours, Tips and tricks, User guide and FAQS.
- Mobile Hotspot: I have not tested this one, but from the menu options you are able to manage the hotspot information and the actual devices allowed to connect by typing in their mac addresses.
Updated Apps -
- Gallery App: Now shows Facebook photos, Camera Roll, My Library, Online Photos from Facebook. New Layout.
- Camera App: Changed the buttons to match the rest of MotoBlur
- Camcorder App: The HD video can now record more than 30 minutes at a time (using the full size of the storage medium), extra click to turn on the LED lights.
- Email, Calendar, and Text Messenger: Just UI improvements
- Task Manager: Seems to have small improvements, but basically the same as before with just a UI revamp
- Music App: Similar Changes as the Camera App. However there is now an option that allows Moto to identify your music and send “anon” info about your music preferences to Moto.
Multiple Profiles-
- Profiles: You now have three profiles to choose from (work, Everyday, and Weekends). As far as I can tell the same ringtones, silent settings, and what not apply to all three profiles and can not be individually set for each profile. It looks as if the Home Screens are the only things that change with the profile (widgets, background, app shortcuts).
The widgets in multiple profiles along with any live wall paper may contribute to battery drain similar to using multiple launcher. I have not tested this as I need my phone and do not want to waste battery testing it when I am still using it. If anyone wants to give it a go and post their results, please do so.
New Settings-
- Media Audio Settings: Multiple settings that include bass boost. May have been on the Froyo version but I have never seen them.
- SD Card Notifications: You can finally turn off the damned sound notification when your SD card is added or removed and when you boot the phone.
- In-Pocket Detection: It locks the phone when you put it in your pocket.
- Unknown Sources Checkbox: Yup it’s finally here and you can now check it and install the amazon app store without having to root your phone.
- Windows Media Sync: Allows you to choose where to sync your media from your PC.
- Secure Network Notification: You can now be notified when a secure network is available
- Peer to Peer (Ad-Hoc) Channel: Choose a channel to setup a Adhoc network.
- Text Message Reply: Gives the option to turn off the Send a text message to a phone caller.
- Contacts Settings: Allows you to change which contacts are visable. Rather nice if you ask me
Updates:
- SD Card Data Encryption: Finally a feature we all wanted!
- Device Encryption: No more police officers looking at your phone...at least in some districts.
- Blue tooth Bypass: Allows you to bypass your bluetooth device and use the voice commands on the phone vs. the bluetooth.
- Advanced IPSec VPN: Not entirely certain if it works or not. We all know it didn't before, so if anyone can test it and let me know, that would be great.

For the most part, rich locations is an rss feed app mixed with a gps mapping system that gives you local information such as restaurants, coffee shops, local singles ads, and coupons from various websites such as yelp, match.com and so on.
Sort of like places on google maps but with a twist. I doubt I will use it often around town, but it would come in handy when I was on vacation and what not.

I am enjoying my update for what it's worth.
New Blur!
I have to say, I kind of liked Motoblur's functionality in Froyo, but it was just so damn slow... The new Motoblur (or whatever they want to call it now) is finally usable, and looks very nice
Some parts seem a bit slower now (e.g., the integrated webpart in Pulse), but still very smooth.
I don't regret updating - finally a Moto Android worth having!
it's awesome.
I am really liking the new screen off animation.

I am using NoLED from the play store. It works OK, but not all the features seem to work on the Force. Still I like it better than not having an LED or breathing notifications.

On the previous Moto devices with Moto Display, the notifications would "pulse." Meaning until you dismissed the notification, every few seconds, the screen would fade in and out...It was actually a great feature...They probably dumped it to save a little bit of battery life...

Go into your Moto app. Third option should be "Display". Toggle it on. You can block specific apps from displaying by selecting "Block Apps", as I believe all apps will show by default.
After trying dozens of apps I think I found something that can work. There are several 3rd party lock screens that offer breath notifications but you end up losing the finger print reader function which was a big selling point to me. NoLed worked but you either need to shut off your lock screen or basically have two lockscreens which is kinda a pain.
So I thought maybe I just need to have the phone remind me I have a notification. I scoured the Google play store and came across an application called Recurrent Notification Manager which in my first days use seems to work. You basically tell Recurrent Notification Manager what app to monitor set the time you want the app to be refreshed and it's good to go. Best thing is you can still keep the fingerprint reader and the moto display on with the cool hand wavy thing.
It is a free app but if you want it to monitor more then one app with you have to pay $1.70. Also this app is a bit rough around the edges it's only got a 3.0 rating in the Google play store but everything seems to be working fine on my end.

In my experience, notifications will breathe until dismissed. Motos running Marshmallow handled these notifications differently than Nougat-based Moto's now do, but it's the same in principle.

I was able to get NoLED to work. However, when you have a notification on the blank (or maybe lock) screen you have to dismiss it by touching the home button. Once I do that I touch the fingerprint scanner and the phone unlocks. It is an extra touch, but not too bad. I will check out the app you reference above as well.

Unfortunately, I no longer own this phone. I posted this nearly two years ago.
I just took the update to Nougat and I hate the little window that comes up when I receive a call on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. On Marshmallow, I had installed an old version of the Google Dialer ( v 2..05.07_rc4 I believe) but I am having trouble disabling the default dialer on Nougat. Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the default Samsung dialer on Nougat and use the Google Dialer (any version)? Or am I wasting my time?
Thanks!
re dialer
I didn't like the all white dialer in Nougat so I installed the material dark theme and that made both
the dialer and drop down menus look better. I would like the pixel dialer or something similar however
the one's I have tried (apk's) crashed.

The quick menus are dark however the notifications are not. I notice now the blue led notification doesn't seem to be
working either. Short answer no.
I did get the led notifications to work after adding an app (light manager). I expect if I erase and reset it would work but
I don't want to do that at the moment.
There is an updated version of Google Phone that works on S7E Nougat. Search for "Google Phone 4.1.135571529-nonnexus" on apkmirror. It might not be the most current version (which is 8.x) but it still works and might not be as whacky for you as the Samsung dialer. Please note that you need to also download the Google Contacts app, because if you want to disable the Samsung dialer you are actually disabling the Samsung Contacts app as this is the actual "phone" app that shows up in your app drawer. If you want to disable the Samsung phone and contacts apps make sure to not disable any of the apps listed as "phone".
Hope this helps!

Works well on my Exynos S7 Edge
hi for the last year or so i've been working on designing a custom environment for android, i just released a custom navigationbar app called arc lighting navigationbar on the playstore allthough it has been used and tested on galaxy devices such as the note 9 it works on any other phone too, this app will let you customize the navigationbar extensively, which includes changing each button back, home, recent apps to various icons both presets and icons from any iconpack, you can also place colored layers behind the icons, each color can also follow your wallpaper or app, you can customize it so much that you can turn it into a taskbar for desktop use meaning you can use any phone as a pc without a seperate environment such as samsung dex, the app is called arc lighting navigationbar, i couldn't possibly describe everything it can do so you'd have to test it i don't think theres anything you can think of that you can't do with when it comes to customization, whats left is the dockmenu for true desktop and mobile environment but the developer i am working with does not want to finish the work until this app gets traffic as i owe him too much money for the work he did.
here you can see it on a s9+ https://www.facebook.com/symetium/videos/441167859757603/

hi for the last year or so i've been working on designing a custom environment for android, i just released a custom navigationbar app called arc lighting navigationbar on the playstore allthough it has been used and tested on galaxy devices such as the note 9 it works on any other phone too, this app will let you customize the navigationbar extensively, which includes changing each button back, home, recent apps to various icons both presets and icons from any iconpack, you can also place colored layers behind the icons, each color can also follow your wallpaper or app, you can customize it so much that you can turn it into a taskbar for desktop use meaning you can use any phone as a pc without a seperate environment such as samsung dex, the app is called arc lighting navigationbar, i couldn't possibly describe everything it can do so you'd have to test it i don't think theres anything you can think of that you can't do with when it comes to customization, whats left is the dockmenu for true desktop and mobile environment but the developer i am working with does not want to finish the work until this app gets traffic as i owe him too much money for the work he did.
here you can see it on a s9+ https://www.facebook.com/symetium/videos/441167859757603/
and here you can see it on a xperia 1 including it's desktop ui

in the beginning of the message you say you are developing the app and its in the play store and then at the end u speak about the actual dev is someone else and they dont want to finish the work for x reason.
sooo.. what are we to do with this?
is it available or not?
or is this just to monetize youtube links?

honestly it means a lot when someone truly appreciates my work i have to go through a lot of 1 star ratings for really weird reasons such as too complicated or uses too many permissions so it's nice when someone actually appreciates it thank you, and yes it is difficult to figure out as i wanted customization per button rather than all 3 at once, i could have made it simpler and had one light control for all buttons at once but each button has it's own full set of settings icon, color, light indicator, movement, layer etc i don't find it complicated as i designed it but i understand if other people do.
I'm impressed. To be able to do that without root is awesome since this thing is in root limbo. As soon as I have 6 bucks I'll donate. I'm on an N9... Can't get the advanced option to work... Any thoughts?

well i am really sorry to say but the advanced option does not work on galaxy phones for some reason so the app has been made to block the advanced option to function, we tried to get it to work but it crashes the phones ui theres something with oneui so you'd need to use the mode that requires no root or software, the difference between advanced and simple is simply no transparency theres no other difference so you get all the same features as advanced but instead of modifying the navigationbar it will place one ontop of the old one i recommend doing this with gesture navigation enabled as then you get a very thin navigationbar as well as the gesture navigation, but i am so sorry for this i should have been more clear on that, made me sad considering you liked the app.
Sounds great. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

you're welcome let me know if you need any help, as mentioned i do recommend enabling gesture navigation first this makes the navigationbar much thinner than usual it also allows you to use gesture navigation or taps at the same time.
these are ugly navbars!
