I was having issue with the 32bit drivers for my epic, so I did a google search and I found some updated drivers for the phone. The phone connects fine to my computer when it is on, and until recently also while in download mode. However I do not know what happened after I updated the kernel that it does not recognize my phone when using odin.
The one listed for in the wiki is ver. 1.3.450.0 and the version I found is ver. 1.3.800.0.
I hope that this will help others who have issue with the drivers for there phone. I am on Win7 ultimate as well.

I haven't had any problems, but if they are updated, they must have improved something. Maybe USB transfer rates are better.
THANKS
You are welcome. I hope that it does improve performance for the phone to pc lol.

I would like to just bump this in the hopes that it can be added to the wiki or to any other posts that display driver downloads for the epic as this is the newest version out from samsung for the 32bit system.

These drivers are NOT new. I've been using them since the day I got my Epic 4G last August. Always thought it was odd people used older ones.
hmmm... wonder if this is why I had issues when I had to start using a different PC, loaded drivers and bunch of stuff didnt work right... using 1.3.8 now, wonder if I was using old ones and didnt notice it switched when I re-downloaded em... I think anyone can edit the wiki.... just add the newer and dont ditch the older in case theyre better... idunno how though. Would be good to be added to the stickys for rooting etc, as they seem to be much more widely used... most people see the specs of the phone on the wiki top page and go 'this is useless, move on...'
Well I these new drivers help you out good luck

Hello I'm new to Android and my friend is letting me borrow his spare Xperia play. One problem, he has an experimental os or something along those lines installed, and to get the full Android experience I want to use the stock OS. He said all I need to do is flash it back to the stock OS however I am a noob when it comes to Android and have no idea how to go about this. Please any help would be greatly apreciated, thanks.

It's actually me that let him borrow it, and it's an R800X. I regret to say that I will actually be too busy this weekend to help him, but I can provide you with details. It's an R800x, it's not activated on Verizon, and if I remember correctly it's running Version 23? of FreeXperia CM7. As you guessed, the bootloader is fully unlocked, and if something goes wrong I have the knowledge(mostly) on how to fix it. So, my XDA brethren, help this poor soul who has lost his way on iOS!

[Q] Why do updates of some apps say "your device is not compatible with this item"?
Background: I have a Color Nook running Cyanogenmod 7 from an SD card, and when I installed the OS a couple of months ago, (V. 7.1-RC), it worked fine, and I also installed v. 2.6 of the Nook eReader app for Android, which also works fine.
Today I acquired a second Color Nook, and used the exact same files that I used before and installed Cyanogenmod 7 on the new nook, using the exact same SD card, the preferred SanDisk 8Gb class 4. The OS seemed to work just like it does on the other Nook, but then I tried to download and install the Nook eReader app, I found that it has been upgraded to 2.7, which provides the "your device is not compatible with this item" message. I have found other upgrades which behave similarly, such as ES file manager, and Chess Free from AI.
I have found references to a "fix" for this problem which involve a re-format of one of the partitions, using Clockworkmod, which I do not wish to install because it goes onto the internal memory and interferes with normal stock OS upgrades.
So is there any action I can take to get these upgrades to work on my Color Nook? And what causes this situation? Are the upgrades developed for a more advanced version of Android, and not designed to work on version 2.3? Thanks for any information anyone can provide for an android newbie!
Furthermore, when I try to upgrade the apps on the first Color Nook, I get the same message! So the problem seems more likely to be in the app than in my tablet.
Upgrade to a nightly above 200 or search market fix. Sooo many threads on this....

It worked!
Thanks so much for this information. As I mentioned, I am new at this, and I guess I didn't know where to look to find out the latest news. I installed nightly build 214, and EVERYTHING works as I expect it to.
I did a google search of "market fix", but didn't find any reference to this fix. And I gather that the solution has come rather recently if it takes a build with number 200 or greater to fix it, since that build was released on 23 September 2011.
Sometimes the key to finding answers is to pick the right keywords to search for. Any suggestions on some good ones? And maybe I just didn't look in the right places. There seem to be several groups doing android development, and there are several ways to "root" a color nook.
And thanks immensely to koopakid08 for answering in this thread so that I could solve my problem! I have already clicked on his "thanks" button, twice even!
The right place to search would be right here at XDA.

Was just wondering if it was possible and if so, what version of Cyanogenmod would I need?
First off, there is no more CyanogenMod. The CyanogenMod people started a new project called Lineage.
Now to answer your question. Yes, it is possible.
The Optimized LineageOS ROM should work on your device.

The install process is a subjective matter.
For me it's easy since I've been doing these things for over 4 years.
For you it might seem complicated at first.
There are various guides and video tutorials that will show you how to do it. The process is usually the same for every phone and for every ROM.

Fair enough, I guess I'll have to educate myself on the matter before attmepting to install anything.
I do have a couple more questions;
1. Does Lineage improve performance and battery life like Cyanogenmod claims to do?
2. I think Lineage is based on a newer OS (Android 7.x.x) then my phone natively supports (Android 5.0.1), would that be an issue?

Yes, although the LineageOS guys, the XDA community and devs (who work on it for free, during their spare time) manage to port the last version of Android to this device, you can expect some bugs, a degraded camera quality (because of proprietary blobs Samsung do not publish), and to loose some functionalities (smart pause, smart scroll).
However, the stock Android experience is worth the switch and you will learn a lot of things here, which is invaluable.
Try the unofficial LineageOS by side (original development forum).
Ok, thanks for the answers
Last question, would you be able to send me a download link to it? I couldn't find the right one for my phone.

I already told you, you need the Optimized Lineage ROM. It has your device listed as "supported".
It's in the GT-I9505 Original Development section. Impossible to miss, it's always around the top of the list.
And it is universal, meaning that there is no special version for your device.
Do note that the developer himself has a GT-I9505, and so do most of his test team members. So there's no guarantee that it will be a flawless experience.
Sorry, I must've missed that. Will report back once I get it installed
Thanks for all the help
Edit: On the download page there's two different versions
"Optimized-LineageOS-14.1-20170120-jflte-AROMA.zip"
and
" Optimized-LineageOS-14.1-20170120-jflte.zip"
Which one do I download?
YAY, it's all set-up and working now. Thank you all very much
Whenever I lock my phone, the screen stops working. I then have to restart my phone to get the screen working again. Any solutions?

Use the stock kernel. On the download page there should be an "extras" folder.
If you can't find it then download the aroma version and flash it. This one gives you some options during the install process.
Thanks, that fixed the issue.
Got another question,
How do I make my phone show up on my PC? Like it shows up as "GT-I9507" but when I open it, it's just empty. Before on stock Android it had 2 main folders, something like "Internal" or "System" and "SDCard" and they both had multiple subfolders.

That I do not know.
Should work straight away normally.
Try enabling/disabling USB debugging while the phone is connected.
Tried that, still nothing

Select notification "USB charging this device" or anything similar, select MTP. It'll auto reconnect and it should work.

Oh, yeah. Try what he said.
I haven't connected my phone to a PC in years, so I wouldn't know what to do.
Hey there,
am trying to get the sixaxis app to work with my p9 lite now, but the applications lists my devices as "incompatible" as it can't get the device's Bluetooth driver configured properly. I read somewhere that the required packages to access this driver is not available on the stock rom but it is available in Cyanogen mod/ lineage OS . if someone can confirm this, it would be a great help, cause i don't want to go through the hassle of installing everything back just to find that the device is still incompatible anyways...
PS: as a proof on concept, i have a galaxy grand prime with Cyanogen mod already running on it, the app worked fine and the controller paired there, but still maybe the device was compatible anyway even without Cyanogen mod on.
It will work.-don't forget to give me a thanks!
