help setting data usage on AT&T

I have set de apn but still I have no data conection phone is only on E all the time
Edit I now have data by doing this but still onf Edge no 3g
Hi,
The above method stated by the original poster did not work for me but the following method did:
( I have my sim card in for this)
1) enter the MFG app (dial ##634#)
2) Input the password 277634#*# and press enter
3) Choose No. 7 engineer menu
4) in the engineer sub-menu choose other setting.
5) Choose Set Network Profiles
Let the list populate
6) Scroll down the list and find your appropriate carrier and select the appropriate xml, so for me in the
7) Exit the mfg app, restart phone
8) confirm that data connection is active in settings>mobile network

For some reason mine keeps going back to 2G, but a few numbers and back to 3g only.

Sim unlock help

If i am understanding correctly sprint S4 can be sim unlocked, it will only allow you to use it as a world phone and wont work for other USA carriers correct? i am planning on doing this guide, any other recommendations? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lawcT1qqnLA

Search in gsm unlock in the development thread..you can use tmobile and atnt with our sprint phone I think its like page 32 ..theres 2 gsm unlocks required for usa gsm

awesome ill check it out! the only guides or successful unlock guides ive found have only been for world phones, they said it didnt work on any US carriers. Hopefully ill find the thread that says otherwise!

well i cant seem to find it. and from what i did find it confirmed that it wont work on at&t and tmobile

If you are using AT&T and/or TMOBILE branded sim you can do the following:
1) Install "HiAPN Global" from playstore
2) Select "Click to AutoSet APNs" then reboot
If you are using prepaid sim cards that require specifc APN Settings then do the following:
1) Edit build.prop (Must be rooted)
2) Install NovaLauncher from playstore
Launch NovaLauncher and create APN Settings shortcut by doing the following:
a) Long press on home screen and select "Shortcuts"
b) Select "Activities"
c) Select "Settings"
d) Finally select APNs
After shortcut is created, go into APNs and add/edit APN info. At that point you can go back to TouchWiz or stay with NovaLauncher
7) Install "Tellinfo" from play store. (This app allows you to seamlessly switch back and fourth between Sprint CDMA and GSM (WCDMA) on the fly. No need to reboot
1) Run Tellinfo app and select Device Information
2) Scroll down to "Set preferred Network Type" and choose
a. WCDA Only to connect to GSM Networks
or
b. CDMA auto (PRL) to connect back to Sprint network.

Make sure you are not on the MJA update. You will not be able to revert to earlier firmware to complete the original sim unlock procedure. You will have to have Sprint Worldwide unlock the sim for you before doing the US gsm unlock.

awsome ill try this out after i do the international unlock. any link to the thread so i can get that unlocker program? and when it says insert micro sim, thats just my sprint sim card right? or do i have to do that with a gsm sim card?

I am on MDL on an aosp rom. should i flash back to a 4.2 or 4.3 stock rom?

I believe you have to start with MDC stock to do the initial unlock if you aren't having Sprint do it.

I believe you gotta be stock unrooted mdc by using odin, then do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2415587 ..
For the second guide the usa gsm you gotta use a activated gsm sim not the sprint sim

hmm i thought you could be rooted. ill read through the thread. but is there any link to the second guide i cant find it and i need to get the unlocker program thats in there

Does unlocking it change the way that it performs on Sprint's network?

When I entered the information to get to the Service Mode nothing comes up it states "No Service" so I am unable to modify anything am I missing something in the various steps. I did Odin Flash the correct modem -when I insert a non Sprint SIM i do not get the invalid sim message so something did take.

i still would like a thread to the gsm unlock if anyone can link it please? i understand i need to do the international unlock then the gsm unlock but i cannot find a thread about gsm unlock working, i cant find where those instructions are from. please link.

Me and a few other members have achieved domestic unlock on TMOBes and a few other networks as well, here is my guide.

thanks ill check those out! that guide looks confusing haha i am going to have my work cut out for me. i am trying to sell my s4 and I have someone who wants it on tmobile.
also if i successfully unlock for tmo i can switch back and forth from sprint to tmobile correct?

[Q] How to return Sprint SG4 config values after config to use in T-Mobile HSPA+

Hello everyone. I have the following question regarding my SG4 device. A while back I configured my sprint phone to use it on T-Mobile HSPA+ bands. I remember following a post (not sure which one it was though as it has been a while) here on XDA for the initial configuration that involved downgrading the modem and then changing some config values. I am trying to return my phone to its previous state; basically want to get return the config values and the modem version same as it was. Can I accomplish this just by installing the stock ROM? Or do I need to go in a put the previous values first? If there is a post out there for this any reference to it would be so helpful for me.

My device is intl unlocked by sprint customer service but I cannot connect to carrier network. I am suspecting is because of the settings or perhaps the network control setting described on step 8 pasted below? I am OK with losing the domestic unlock settings.
Step 8) Press menu and back twice, you should be on the PHONE CONTROL menu. Select [7] NETWORK CONTROL, select [1] GFC and make sure that it is set to [1]GSM/(E)GPRS/WCDMA REL8 .

I'm leaving the country on Sunday and I need to be able to use my phone with an international SIM. What is the quickest way to international unlock it by then? I see a lot of conflicting information like I can't downgrade from NG2 or something like that. Any help?

Before you continue; please note that i am not liable for any damages, that may occur to any the devices you attempt this on.
To undo any and all of the changes that you are about to make to your phone(**NOTE** the following will erase all data on your phone so backup everything you want to keep.), (1) first download an app called MSL utility and write down your MSL code on a computer, or any other device maybe even pen and paper.(2) go to your phone settings hit activate this device when it is done loading do not click done.(3) click on the menu button and go to PST settings. (4) go to the ##SCRTN# menu and follow what it prompts you to do, your phone will then reboot automatically. (5) do steps 2 and 3 over again and go to the ##RTN# menu and follow the prompts your phone should than reboot automatically and now you should see an invalid SIM sign. **NOTE** any time it asks you to enter a code it means enter you MSL code. Remember to undo these steps first. (No. 2)**NOTE** when your done with steps below download BuildProp Editor(you must have root), and click on the pencil icon; scroll to the bottom, and add these two lines: ril.sales_code=LOL ro.csc.sales_code=LOL)

I had NAE i downgrade to mdc then unlocked it and after that i download firmware which is NG2-xas i think and after upgrading its still unlock.
For that method and files you can search international sim unlock.
Its easy to do it.

Couple of things, I actually called Sprint to ask them to unlock it for international SIMs, and they said they'd go ahead and do it. I flashed back to Stock and did the UICC Unlock thing in the menu like they told me. The phone rebooted. I think it's unlocked then, correct? If not, I'll go ahead and do this method tonight.
Also, does this phone support LTE (Is that the right term) on international GSM networks or just 3g?

it may be unlocked; you would not know for certain unless, you attempt to insert an international sim card.
Depending on which country you are traveling to. Some countries only have 2-G, then there is some that use 3-G, some also utilize HAPA+, and LTE. It also depends on the sim card they give to you. If the give an LTE sim card, it may work (for LTE or HSPA+). Though it depends on which band/frequency, its relying on. click here to see LTE frequency data sheet. click here to select the country you are traveling to, this way you'll know if you will be able to be on a favorable network.

I don't know if that's true. What i do know is that the last time i was in Israel, i used Golan Telecom, and i only had a 3G connection. i do know that they state they have a 4G-Lte network, but i guess i'll have to find out in a few months from now.

I successfully sim unlocked | unlocked LTE/GSM bands on the HTC Desire 626s Sprint variant using info from guides by @be free and @dr.faramroze. A big thanks to these fellas! You won't know it is unlocked until you put an active GSM Sim Card in. When trying a non active GSM sim it doesn't register correctly. I am unsure of why this occurs right now. When i get more time for this handset I will figure it out. I would recommend flashing the Unbranded MM 6.0 Stock Debloated Rom before doing these steps. SIM UNLOCK WORKS ON: Sprint - HTC M9 / HTC Desire 626s / ??

Required>

Instructions:
1a. Start by downloading all of the files attached to this thread. If they do not download you can download them from [https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603843197] alternatively.
2a. Install HTC Drivers. If you do not already have them they can be downloaded from here - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3KA7QCJCJgwTzlfd0N6a3RXWVU/view?usp=sharing
3a. Run the application named "Basic-Flasher" that you downloaded in step 1a. If it fails to launch this is because you don't have the required run times installed. Goto microsoft.com and download the latest packages. If it still errors just click "continue" and then click scan, select your port # then click connect. Next to Method in the drop down box select [HTC]. Now click Read SPC and your MSL/SPC should appear. Copy this to notepad, piece of paper etc.
4a. Dial ##3424# in your dialer and input your MSL/SPC you got in step 3. Now Choose [DM ON] and activate it. IF it is already activated simply deactivate then reactivate it. Goto search or run and type in "compmgmt.msc" and goto device manager. You should see the HTC diag port under Com Ports. Now you know it is open.
5a. Run the application named "NV Items Reader and Writer". Click [Port] in the top left and select your phone serial port #. Make sure both boxes in the top bar are checked and input your SPC/MSL in the box replacing 000000. Click [Connect] then click [Read]. If all goes well at the bottom of the application you will see in the logs "SPC is correct. Phone Unlocked". Make a backup of ALL your current NV Items by selecting 0-65535 after Range (Dec) and clicking [Read]. Save this and name it "nv_items_complete_original_backup.txt". Keep somewhere safe that you will remember.
6a. Now in Range (Dec) input 30159-30159 and click [Read] and save this with the filename "nv_item_30159_original_backup.txt" and save somewhere safe. Now click [Write] and select the file you downloaded in Step 1 named "unlock.txt". Write the file. Now goto [Mode] in the top bar and click [Reboot].
You're now SIM UNLOCKED! -
Try your active GSM SimCard now. I'm testing with ATT getting HSPA+ and loving my horrible 3G data speeds! But hey what can you expect. =]
Now to enable LTE Bands if you must (Not everyone will be supported). This mod enables obtaining LTE - bands 2,3,5,13,17,25,26 after making changes to NV Item values. Band 5 is reported to be excellent with great coverage. Making these changes will not damage your Modem / IMEI / Hardware.
