I dont know about the issue with adoptable storage, but SmartManager is a crap app. You can remove it.
Ok, I removed it, everything is ok.

Any reason why this continually decides to run even after I end the process in task manager? I do not use the widget and frankly would like to remove it all together. Pleas le help. Thanks.

Some services are restarted automatically and you can't stop it from happening. You shouldn't be killing tasks anyway.
OK. Is this service/app required for the phone. If not, Where can I find this particular apk to remove

if you are rooted you can use an app "root explorer" to go into the system apps and move the daily briefing apk. move it to a folder on your sd card as a backup in case you ever need it again. then reboot your phone, go to manage applications and you should be able to uninstall it.
ive done this with other system apps without a problem (dualclock, buddiesnow, telenav,my files and some others) but i kept daily briefing so i dont know how it affects the phone. be sure to have a backup of it.

People say this but I have never seen any hard data to back it up. What I can tell you is since I started running ATK on my phone my battery life has improved immensely and I have experience none of the lag or app startup delay that others have complained about.

yep that did the trick. Thanks!
Thanks for the info! Daily Briefing has been on my uninstall list ever since I noticed it popping up in the task list constantly, and accessing the web. Never could find it listed in uninstall apps lists. Finally, unable to uninstall it in the GoLauncher app drawer, I added it to a homescreen and long pressed it, and selected Uninstall from the popup. The uninstall process started and continued normally, but at the end I got "Unsuccessful". I ran the app for the first time ever and went to Settings and unchecked all the boxes. The app went from 3 screens to one, that just says no information. I'm hoping this keeps it inactive... Will let you know how it went.
[Q] "Application is not installed on your phone" after restart [G1/SuperCSDI (1.6)]
Hey,
so the other day, out of the blue, I noticed that my desktop shortcuts to Twicca and Google Reader displayed the generic "gears" icon and when I tapped them it says "Application is not installed on your phone". I believe this happened after a restart, but I'm not entirely sure when exactly. I haven't done any major updates to the phone, and I've been using the SuperCSDI (Donut) ROM for a few weeks now without any issues.
The applications are not in the launcher either. In the Market, the option to Open the application is greyed out. If I go to uninstall them in "Manage applications", I get "Application not found". The only way to uninstall them is via another application manager (I'm using ES File Explorer), which has a shortcut to Uninstall, and that works. And after uninstalling, I can install them again through the Market.
But this has happened twice already, and to the same apps (Twicca and Google Reader). What gives?
I ran fix_permissions and that didn't do anything. I'm also using apps2sd, which I heard has had some similar issue.
What causes this and how can I fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Really? But how come it happens to the same two apps? Everything else works fine. I'll look into it, but I doubt it's the SD card...
More importantly, WHY does this happen? I don't know much about Android's internals (nor about apps2sd), but is there something that gets corrupted? How can I check this?
Thanks for your help.
I have the 16gig N7 and recently while trying to update apps or install new apps i get a "insufficient storage space" error. I have 7 gigs free on the device. I have used 1.80 gigs for Apps. Whats going on here? Dont seem to have an option to move the data to USB storage or anything similar as i can with the Nexus S phone.
Any help would be very grateful.

Have you ever filled it up till there was only around 500meg left? Try force stop play store and Google services framework and clear data on both. You should get a server error when you try the play store. Then reboot and try again

No I havent. This is the most I have had on it. I keep music on a 64gig thumb drive and connect via OTG cable. I will try what you suggested now.
Thank You,
dfl
I think that worked kieso. I appreciate your help. I installed 2 apps with no problems.
Thanks,

1) I have apps (bloat ware) on my Vzw G2 that I'd like to disable (for example, NFL). How to I hid them since I can't uninstall them?
2) is there a way to clear the cache from the apps other than one app at a time?
Thanks!
1. you have to root your device and then use an app like titanium to freeze/remove what you want - without root you can't do this
2. default "lg smart cleaning" app does the job just fine (one click cleaning) - i'm sure there are also some good 3rd party apps on store that can do that as well (i think even titanium can do that, but i've never used it for cleaning caches)
Does the G2 have the smart cleaning app? I've looked and don't see it.
