Hello people.
Im new to the forum, and Idk if this is the correct place to ask this, but here it goes.
I have a Huawei cm 990 (I believe is an unique variant product from my country, Venezuela)
It does have a cdma number, and I would like to know if I could change the number of the phone and how could be procedure for it, I currently have a Movilnet (carrier) and I would like to change to Digitel (another carrier).
I have done little research, and android have some #* codes, but Idk the whole process to it.
My phone is also with stock brand rom and not rooted, but I can do it if necessary.
Thanks beforehand for any help you can provide or point to.
Cheers.

Hello there,
I'm very excited to try some really nice ROM's I have seen in here, but I'm afraid that some day if I would want to get it back to the "factory" version of my HTC P4351 (that's the model name for our "Herald" here in Brazil) I could not do it.
Anyway, is there a way to Backup my actual ROM before I flash it to another? Also, is there some concern I must have regarding my carrier (not only the network configuration itself, but some "block" that they could have implemented in the device)?
My cell phone carrier is CLARO, if there are other brazilians here who actually had success in flashing, your comments are really appreciated!!
Thanks in advance folks.

I had the same question a few months ago. I was told to use the search function (which turned up nothing).
Good luck!
I found this in Wiki: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=XDAtools
but it looks like it's just for old phones/OS ... Does anyone know how to create an image of the WM6 Pro ?
You can follow ITJE's post regarding on how to build your own rom ... dump your rom, then recook it. I'm not a cook, so I wouldn't know all the details.
Uhm, i tried changing my esn using http://www.mobile-files.com/forum/showpost.php?p=355768&postcount=1
my battery has a code written on it that my carrier said not to remove, cus its " a code" -.-?
uhm, i wonder, doing that is going to affect any way my phone when i bring it in for activation?
im currently out of carrier cus i upgraded with a sprint rom and my roamings ****ed up=/
please answer=D
Hey I think I can help you I've done a lot of vouge using that method.
but can you please be a little more specific. like what carrier are you using.
what is the "code" can you put it here? it's like a 6 digits number? maybe is the spc.
and last, what is exactly the question, I get a little confused
yeah, 6 digit number,
on my batery,
i was following the steps to change esn on the link above..but i didnt, i stopped where i changed the security? number to 000000
i wonder if doing that would complicate reactivating my phone with Viva, tu voz. in dominican republic
Okay, so I bought the Huawei X1 phone, which is a great little phone.
But, it wasn't long before I started to tinker with it, and in the process I lost the stock Telecom rom and ended up having to flash with an Aussie version.
The problem I'm having though, is that nearly all roms I've found so far will not register properly on the network, and as far as I found out, it's because these all came from 900mhz providers and not the 850mhz like XT.
So heres what I would like somone to do f they are keen enough...
Use SuperOneClick to root their phone.
Install RootToolBox.
Flash with recovery-RA-u8160-v2.3 (you may need a file manager like ES file manager)
Power off then on holding both power button and volume up until recovery menu comes up.
Perform a nand backup of boot, system, and data and then...
Please please please upload the files somewhere for me!
Thanks.
Or if anyone has the U8180 Telecom New Zealand rom, can you please upload?
I've tried getting it from wiki.modaco.com Huawei_Firmware_U8180
But none of the links work, or I can't figure out how to get them working.
You've got the wrong forum mate...This forum section is for U8800 - X5 and what you've got is Huawei Ideos X1 - U8180.
Yeah I know, but for some reason I can't find the right forum?
Able to point me in right direction?
You owe me a beer for this

Not really mate, those roms are the reason my phone is now stuck on the 900mhz version baseband and not the 850mhz version like I need for telecom.
I'm desperate for the NZ telecom version!
Ups, sorry mate, wasn't aware that NZ is 850mhz.
Can you not change the baseband in *#*#4636#*#* menu?

You are confused, the baseband has nothing to do with the 3G frequency, you cannot change a frequency because it is in the hardware not software.
My question is: did it worked before the update? (im assuming that you are talking about 3G frequency bands)
Sent from my U8800Pro using XDA App
Oh I guess I am confused?
Yes it did work before the update.
And no I don't see an option to change anything in the menu.
How would I go about repairing this?
Maybe contact Huawei NZ? via http://huaweimobile.co.nz
I tried that yesterday.
Got some angry little asian man who wanted to know how I flashed the phone and was no help at all
Noticed before that the phone model isn't actually U8180, but rather U8180-7...
I'm guessing there may be a hardware change for NZ?
Can anybody point me to more info on basebands and whatnot?
I don't really understand it all, I was under the impression that baseband=operating frequencies?
Why don't you take it back to Telecom shop and see if they can flash it back? I doubt you'll have much luck on this forum as it's for a totally different phone that runs on only 2D and Vodafone in NZ
you'd be fine if the Huawei links weren't broken, all the links I've tried for multiple models are broken. Keep an eye on them they might come right soon.
Flashed it with U8150 firmware for a laugh, going back to shop today :S
hey there -
I've got the U8180-7 NZ Telecom version if you want - uploading it now to mediafire and will post it in a bit.
Will you return the favor ? I need to purchase a couple of these phones in NZ and have them shipped out to me. But haven't found a way to do that yet.. nobody seems to want to ship overseas or even have DHL pick on my expense from their shop..
rgds,
pirh
Update: seems I can't yet post outside links.. PM me for the link
Hey Luke, check out geekzone:
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=90028

Hey do you still have the U8180-7 NZ Telecom version rom, I need it as I have done the same thing haha, can't find the correct one anywhere -.-
Hey all
i recently received a gift from Germany - a new S5 SM-G900F .
I've been told that the seller put a local SIM Card in the device and initiated a call for about ~5 minutes,
so it won't be Region Locked.
But when i enter a local sim card from my country, i get a message "Invalid SIM" and a request for network unlock code.
browsing a bit online, i found out that there are paid services to get an unlock code, but for that,
i need to input what network the phone is locked to.
How can i check this?
plus,
is there a free way to get the unlock code, or only the paid ones?
thanks!

Ask the seller?
There are online vendors that will do a database search to match your IMEI to a provider.
The CSC in the baseband may identify the originatind carrier.
Root your phone and look at the system properties to see what MCC your phone is whitelisted to.
You can find elaboration in the forums. There is a wealth of information in existing threads.

Thank you for the reply.
of course asking the seller seems to be the simple way - but it was bought from an ebay seller in germany, and in the meantime
of waiting for his response, i'm looking for an alternate way.
i'm not really sure what CSC stands for, but the baseband listed in "about" is:
G900FXXU1ANE2
About the MCC part - i've rooted the phone and installed Phoenix rom. i have no idea what MCC stands for
or how to check it.
I'll be grateful if you could direct me.
Thank you
:good:

I'm interested too!
How to find if my phone is factory neverlocked or not?
And...how to check if the phone is region lock?
I buy the device from ebay!
I found a file online but it says it's for Canada. I found no USA ones at all. Can I use the Canadian one or can someone point me to the USA version? Fwiw the file I found is: SM-T580_T580UEU4CSC1_T580XAC4CSC1_XAC_Canada_8.1.0_4File_(by_firmwarefile.com)
I am not so naive to not understand that the name on the file could be purposely MIS-named to cause havoc. I found nothing on the Sammoblie site or at Samsung itself. This was the best I could do.
I am only thinking of flashing it because the tablet won't allow me to add a second user... the original PW was 17 characters but after the 16th one it won't let me type the last digit in. I don't think this is an FRP thing, but ti's annoying at the very least.
The tablet was purchased new in 2016 I believe, it runs Android 8.1.0 If I omitted pertinent details please advise.
Thanks to all who reply

The ROM for Cellular South is the one for the U.S. Try using Frija.exe with XAR as the region code to get the latest stock ROM.
hi lewmur,
Thanks for the location of the stock ROM, I'd have never found that. Additionally another forum member offered to help me, I appreciate that too.
sadly today I have a lot of physical pain and can't be in front of the monitor too long. Today isn't a good one. I can't even find the way back to my OP... I know it's there somewhere, it's just a matter of me finding it again.
When I feel better I will search for a Tab A forum to thank the other gentleman who replied very quickly as you did.
Best regards to you both and I will let you know how I get on with it.
