I was looking for a multirom version for the Moto G4 2016 Athene xt1622.
Seems like Unofficial multirom zip version and recovery
images exist out there but no instructions to go with it.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=103401
I had TWRP(athene) unlocked bootloader and rooted.
Then using flashify app I installed both the recovery image and multirom Unofficial downloaded above.
TWRP recovery then boots with as the Multirom version with the Added multirom menu etc.
As far as I know to make Multirom work automatically on power up
it needs a patched kernel with kexec-hardboot.
None of the kernels on XDA for xt16xx are kexec-hardboot...
Stuck..
Can anyone figure it out?
Edit: seems like original files are now access restricted(possibly due to this post).
You're posting in the wrong section.
Unless you maintain a ROM, please dont post anything under the dev section.
If you have a question or are stuck, head over to the Q & A section.

I see you have restricted access to the files and folders now.
I tried your recovery and multirom which boots OK under multirom version of TWRP.
flar2 develops Elemental X kernel and will have a look regarding adding the kexec-hardboot.
Would that make any difference??
Much simpler to use dualbootpatcher.

If i'm remembering correctly, the second ROM i sent you was the final kang he's talking about. I haven't been able to get back to it and do more work with it since 2.3 support is dying and my skills only go so far. Plus the original build files was on the laptop that died oh so long ago when i started getting cm11 spun up for us before m.ksy and aaahhh took over.

Introduction
Recently, I have noticed about the multiple new roms that requires the boot 41.18+ and refuses to be installed over the 41.13 one, & that's why I had to "make" this script using various files from google, and other sites, and obviously a keyboard
I made a Spanish Version (wich has been tested many times) and now for xda, the english one
If you want something like this for another model, just provide correct bootloader, and let me see what can I do :fingers-crossed:
Supported devices:
xt1002, xt1003, xt1008, xt1028, xt1031, xt1032, xt1033, xt1034, xt1039, xt1040, xt1042, xt1045 :victory:
Download v1.29Old downloads | Bootloaders in zip mode.
First of all, you should read post 3 (FAQ) We don't want your device gets bricked
Requisites:
-Have the motorola drivers installed.
-Usb cable.
-For the moment you need to use Windows.
-I'll try to get this working on Linux and Mac. Something went wrong I got a Mac, trying to make it.
Hope you find it useful. :highfive:
Don't forget to hit thanks if helped you! :good:

It should be mentioned that flashing an incorrect Bootloader (motoboot.img) could result in an instant hard-brick. Upgrading Bootloader is not something that should be casually done with any motoboot.img.
For safety, each model should have a specific script that includes the correct Bootloader for that model.

Thank you.
P.D: I didn't test it but I appreciate your effort.
It should be mentioned that flashing an incorrect Bootloader (motoboot.img) could result in an instant hard-brick. Upgrading Bootloader is not something that should be casually done with any motoboot.img.
For safety, each model should have a specific script that includes the correct Bootloader for that model.

At the start of the script it tells you that is only for xt1032 and 33, but thanks, I'll add it to the OP.
I flashed full 5.0.1 lollipop ROM.
& in bootloader menu i can see 41.18
Does that mean bootloader is updated??
Shouldn't this work on XT1031? The bootloader for it is 41.19

Ya , boot-loader is something that actually flashes files to ROM.
Bootloader makes it possible for chip to communicate through USB.
So if you flash incorrect file then you need to correct that by mannually opening chip & connecting may be through ISB or any other available for ARM processor

You should not be so trigger-happy with flashing Bootloaders - every time you do, you risk destroying your phone.

I have not read of any XT1033 user flashing it. I would personally not be comfortable flashing it if I owned an XT1033 - as it is in no way worth the risk.
The v41.19 Bootloader is intended for XT1032 / GPE - and came included with the GPE Android 5.1 Firmware. It appears to be only a very minor upgrade, with no obvious changes. However custom recoveries often need redevelopment to support new Bootloaders.
You flash at your own risk, and if it creates problems with recoveries you are stuck until they can be fixed.
In summary; you should probably only flash a newer Bootloader if absolutely necessary, or face unwanted consequences.

Thanks for the heads up, I will not flash it unless necessary
Q- Do you think the non gpe variants will get an official update to 5.1 because then only it may be necessary in the future to upgrade the bootloader (like it was from 41.13 to 41.18 )

I expect all variants will get 5.1 (more probably 5.1.1) - the GPE 5.1 firmware is essentially what the Stock Motorola ROMs will be. Much of the work is already done.
It's a matter of opinion how necessary upgrading to v41.18 is. I run GPE 5.1 with the v41.13 Bootloader.

Maybe it will be necesary due to custom roms just like was been with the latest cyanogenmod and the Alberto's aosp.
The installer script refuses to be installed over the 41.13, and you need to upgrade it... or change the updater script

Well it is hosted on a weird website, but this is the direct link that the phone OTA software (fota, which is known to be terrible) use (captured with Wireshark). It can easily be verified.
It seems the real manufacturer of the phone is "tinno" http://www.tinno.com/En/Profile/Index.html and lot of the internal apps / update files use mirrors on http://www.jstinno.com too.

Do we know if someone tried to restore a non-prime nand backup over a prime version?

Anxiously waiting.... this will be my first Android ROM replacement.
Updated the original ad removal post with TWRP install files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67892852&postcount=567 link on the index still valid.
This updated method remove the need of wiping the data and will remove all ads, even the one currently displayed on the lock screen.
Root or exposed are not required (only TWRP obviously) so it won't affect the device security.
I created 2 scripts, one to clean everything, the other one leave the Underground app store in the system.
If you use it a lot, it's nice as it will update the apps automatically without the need of allowing unknown sources.
OTA are disabled by renaming the updater. Safer than the previous method (pm disable and pm hide), and safer than deleting if we need it later.
I was thinking of contributing to our community for long time..
Thanks to @erfanoabdi for his helps and encouraging me to build this rom.
here is my first TWRP flashable rom for Moto Z based on Android Nougat on Moto Z (All Unlocked Versions) cooked with SuperR's Kitchen
Its a work in progress so dont expect too much ...
Download Link : Google Drive
After flashing it with TWRP you need to use adb sideload (TWRP -> Advanced -> ADB Sideload) and flash UPDATE-AnyKernel2.zip (will remove this step in next build)
ROOT : (OPTIONAL)
Use adb sideload (TWRP -> Advanced -> ADB Sideload) and flash superuser-r259.zip to get systemless Root access.
Reboot
Install phh's SuperUser From PlayStore if you rooted with superuser-r259
I tested it on my Moto Z XT1650-03 GRIFFIN RETMX 7.0 NPL25.86-15 and upgraded it to XT1650-03 GRIFFIN TELUS 7.0 NPL25.86-30
Moto Display and Moto Actions may not work, will look into it soon.
