My SGS2 wont charge or connect to laptop

Firstly sorry if this is in the wrong place.
Up until recently everything was working fine.
But now my phone wont charge when I connect it to a mains charger. I've tried using various chargers but no joy. Also it wouldn't connect to my laptop. Again I've tried various usb cables. The only way I'm able to charge it is using my samsung docking station.
I've tried it using both my official samsung battery and a third party one I have but no joy.
Anyone had similar problems?
ps. I have kies installed, although it would only recognize my phone the odd time.

generic micro usb cable only charges

bought generic micro usb cables from amazon and when i try to use as data transfer from computer running windows 7 it says device drivers not installed correctly but when i use original it works fine... i have tried 3 of the five i bought and they are all the same are the cables faulty or did samsung change their cable? anyone else having this problem?
i am running antoniomistrerrA note xxkka rom with 2.6.35.14-fm-gbda6637 kernal... thanks for the rtesponse
Throw the cables and buy new one. Some of the USB cables are not proper wired and wires are in bad quality.

There are some cables that are charge only. Can you post a link.
GALAXY NOTE
I'm using the original cable that came with the note but somehow only charges! it doesn't even do that usb sound when plugged, tried restarting the phone and KIES doesn't detect it either..
This is happening after yesterday the phone started saying it was having a charging/unplug LOOP (constantly vibrating) even with the cable off. this was fixed removing the battery :/
Edit 1#
i am also being unable to plug the phone via mass storage usb, it asks me to plug the usb cable and then nothing..
Edit 2#
So i confirm it's now fixed, i tried to unplug again the battery and also cleaned the usb connector of the phone with a toothbrush.. one of those fixed the problem. now I'm just crossing fingers it won't happen again :/

Fast charging?

Hello,
Using Phoenix ROM with stock kernel and fast-charging enabled, I am only getting 450mA of charge through my USB port, I was just wondering if this is normal or if it should be higher than that. If I plug my charger into the wall I can get a 1800mA charge, but I don't think fast charging enabled is doing anything while plugged into the PC USB port. I am using the stock S5 cable, any ideas?
Thanks

Depends on the USB port, mobo, bios, and some other stuff, are you plugging in to a USB 3.0 port? Some are starting to be adapted to be practical for charging but I've seen most USB ports in machines aren't typically designed for that.

Hm, well I tried it on both my front USB 2.0 port and the back USB 3.0 port, I'm not sure it's registering at all, I heard fast charge was supposed to disable file transfer, but even with fast charge enabled, when I plug in the S5 it immediately pops up on my computer. Motherboard is an Asus M4A87TD if that makes a difference...

S3 Neo recognize only samsung cables

Hi, I have a little problem and I wonder if somebody can help me.
When I connect my phone to the charger or to the pc with a samsung cable, like it's own cable, it charges with no problems.
The problem is that when I try to charge it with other cables it doesn't recognize the cable at all, like if the cable isn't plugged in.
Can somebody help me with this annoying problem?

Strange. Although Samsung supplies good quality cables, other vendor cables are also good. They can be easily available for 3-5$ or 200₹ problem which you are talking about comes in place when the cable is of the most degraded quality; or at least check the connections if they were loosened up!!

Unfortunately it isn't a cable problem, I tried the same cable with another s3 neo and it works perfectly, also I'm not sure it is a connector problem because other Samsung cables works too.
I'm stuck in this dilemma and I don't know what I have to do.

First impression is that, but it's strange because all Samsung cables works.I tried to clean off the port but nothing.

ur problem is similar to mine i think u should send to repair service to see whats the problem it could be that ur usb port is broken
