For whatever reason, the eink SMS app does not show group texts. Is this normally the case?
To clarify, this is only on the yota sms app. They appear in the normal android app and can be mirrored to the eink display, so it's not a deal breaker, just a little inconvenient.

I've noticed that in the default messaging app that pictures from MMS look pixelated until I save them and view them in the gallery app. The same applies to chomp SMS, but Hangouts seems to handle picture messages properly. Does anyone know of a way to fix this for the default messaging app? Or maybe someone knows of an SMS app that puts a notification on the lock screen where you can launch directly into that conversation without pulling down the notification shade (if that's even possible since it wouldn't be a first party app). Thanks for any suggestions you all might have.
When I get an incoming text on my lg g smartwatch (cheapest one) it just notifies me of a list of texts. If I swipe to the left goes to my agenda not a list of the texts. So I have no way to read incoming texts. Very frustrating. Reinstalled google voice. That too only gave lists of incoming texts before it stopped working entirely. Is there anyway to get the body of an incoming text on the watch face. This worked well on my broken qualcolm toq and somewhat less well on my tizen samsung galaxy gear (tiny font, only a few words, do they cloister their i.t. department in a monestary so they have no contact with end users). No wonder Apple is eating everyones lunch.
I like the edge notifications with the built-in messaging and email apps, but would prefer to use 3rd party messaging apps and gmail. SMS is also a concern because my car and my wearable (garmin) only send/receive texts via the messaging app. Are there any 3rd party messaging / email apps that will work with the edge, my car/wearable, etc.? Or am I stuck with the built-ins if I want those notifications to work?
Thanks,
Pete
My go-to 3rd-party SMS app, Textra, works fine with my car's Bluetooth. It reads messages to me out loud phonetically, and the car recognizes new text messages and displays a notif on the car screen (Ford Sync basic). I assume this is what the default S7E SMS app does as well? Question mark there only because I've never used the default app - Textra is always the first app I install on a new phone or after a clean wipe, along with SwiftKey keyboard.
As far as email goes, I've only ever used the stock email app for work email, although I do use the stand-alone GMail app for personal email. I've never thought about it, but you're right, the Gmail app doesn't give me the option to read emails aloud while I'm in my car - it just plays the default notification sound through the car speakers.
Hope this gives you some help at least.
When i get a SMS, it's shown (forever?) on the eink screen. How do i stop that from happening?
Hello,
When i block a sms, it removes it from my home screen of the android messages app(archives it), but future messages still keep on showing on the
home screen. What does the app do for blocking then? I dont get the point of blocking a sms contact.
Anyone having same issue? Any solution?
Note: I have faced this issue on other devices too, so this is definitely app issue.
Use different app e.g. Microsoft SMS Organizer
I also faced the same problem. The default app doesn't work as expected for me.
SMS organizer has categorization of SMSs e.g. personal, transaction and promotional. Promotional sms are not notified to me unlike the other category, so conveniently I don't have to block.
