Hello
I have been using phones with and without these apps on several different models and Android Version.
On the Samsung S7 with MM rom, is these apps really necessary to get better battery life?
Or do you think you will have even better battery life without tweaking the OS with these apps?
Im not sure if they really give you better battery life with newer android versions and phones.

But you will need Greenify and Amplify also, to tweak what you want?
This microG is only tweaking the Google stuff?
Only thing I use is Chrome, Inbox, and Play Store with my Google account.
I debloat pretty heavy evertime on clean install.
After a fresh install with debloat script , I have around 80 services showing in Titanium as ''all user and system apps''

Greenify and Amplify are optional, they do improve your battery but if you follow that guide then they will not be necessary to install.
Move to apc8 you will no need any other apps.
Apc8 is the god of battery life.

Thank you.
I have read about the pc8 build, it's the best for battery.
I know the BasicPlus rom have a very battery friendly version of it, but the build is to old.
Biggest issue for me using this would be no camera fix.
Im getting good battery life zpk4 nougat comparable with stock apf2(apc8 is still abit better than apf2). The build in optimization in nougat is good.2% overnight and 10hrs sot with 30hrs standby possibility for me. Key to good battery is to stay away from fastcharge. It doesnt give you more sot or standby but less heat to prolong what you can achieve alteady.
Yes!!

Hi Guys,
Do I have an issue with my android os? Seems to be keeping my phone awake and downloading a lot over WiFi. I have no idea why, but I think it's killing my battery life. I am lucky to get 4 hours SOT.
Post yours for comparison

How did you update? Did you fresh install or update over lp?
Yesterday it took me 8 hours to use 7% battery

Yes true, the screen shots are from the same day and why would the battery percentage matter? the battery graph is to show how android os might be keeping my phone awake even when the screen is off.
it would instead be helpful if you could tell me what your Android OS usage is? Or how you get such good battery life?
I did a clean install using flashtool (wiped everything) with the RU firmware.
Do you have Google backup on?

Yes I did have it on. I have turned it off along with uninstalling Facebook and turning off google now. so I will see how my phone performs today..
I have the same issues. Yesterday my screen on time was 2.5 hours and the Android OS consumed most of my battery (more than screen) keeping my phone awake for more than 7 hours. I barley made it through the day

I performed a full software repair via PC companion and cleared the cache partition too. I am presuming it might be that because i am essentially "starting again" the phone has to re-adjust to my usage patterns.
But it should not affect the battery life by that much! I am so mad about this update.
my android os is 25% active
it seems like the radio mobile active bug is gone in MM, but we have now a "android os active bug"
Hello, after period with marshmallow, my phone was over heated and battery drain was awful.
I installed gsam battery monitor and found that nova launcher consume 40%.
I uninstalled nova and phone battery is great ! And no more over heat.
I'm with Google launcher now.
same
Everyone that has that issue with nova, please add review at play store, hoping they will fix that.

It's just 0.2 percent for me so far. Maybe something to do with permissions

Hi there, i just wanted to make this post to know your battery stats and share mine too, for the 6045B (Idol 3 5.5')
In my case, i got a rom from 4PDA from 22FEB, i asked if i'm allowed to post it but i still have no answer, so i will just give the name
ROM_AOSP-6045Y (don't get confused on the name, it is based on 6045Y rom, and yes i installed the 6045Y rom into 6045B phone (Chile/Argentina Variant))
in this rom, i got the best results ever, and here i will share them
First at 32% (it is sort of mixed English/Spanish, don't pay attention to that)

as can you see, impressive (and i played some games in the meanwhile)
then i just played until 11%
Then, finally, at 1/2%, with this impressive SoT
And this is game time i played
in total 1 hour and 20 minutes of play time
i guess if i didn't played i would get more than 6 hours of SoT
I clarify that i use Battery Saver Pro and NapTime
so, what is your battery life? it is better? then which rom do you use?
Right now I`m getting something like 5 hours on screen using chrome, messenger, spotify at once (heavy use, like u can see) and modded with xposed, added google assistant with google ok detection and ambient display. LineageOS 13 with Greenify only
Still waiting for update, cause doze will be enabled and with luck I will get 1 or 2 more hours
Of course I still experimenting with CPU profiles
@MichaelGK nice, are you using the latest build or it is the first posted? i could not get more than 4 hours SoT in lineageOS, did you try Naptime or forcedoze?

Every app that doze not working cause there`s no enabled doze in LineageOS right now, it will be enabled at update... I think it should be online in few hours.
And I think greenify did the job better. It got force doze and much more features, also configuration is very simple. Best to use it with root and xposed.
For more features you can buy donation pack or just search for it, but better to buy, cause it`s worth this few dollars
It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Sony Xperia XZ2 before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
We have a winner here! [emoji471]

Sent from my Sony Xperia XZ2!
How??? My maximum sot is at 9 hr, though.
A lot of useless apps disabled (and removed with adb shell)
No sh*tty Swiftkey keyboard (i use the Sony)
Disabled a lot of background data and activity of apps that I don't need real time sync (games, social apps, store apps, tools)
It's not a magical stuff but makes difference.
Sent from my Sony Xperia XZ2!
Could easily reach 10-11h on the last 15%
Just got 10h yesterday.
seriously this phone have amazing battery life, i got sot 7-8h very easy and still remaining 15%
Not that lucky
I have not had the same luck as you guys. Seems my phone gets really hot and battery life has not been the optimal experience for me. :crying:
I get around 6 SOT. Reasonably happy with that, especially compared to the XZ, which is what I was using before the XZ2.
Here are my stats. Are these normal?

Any ideas of why this may be? I don't play any games, but I do have a bunch of social media apps along with IFTTT, and Google Play Music.
and still on 21% ?

something is draining your battery, take an hour and go through all the apps and disable/uninstall those you don't need or use
Turn off background data etc again for all the apps that don't need it
Check permissions of your apps be smart about what they allow
Fitness apps might be running stuff you don't even know about
Your phone running hot would suggest to me that you have a rogue app that is very active in the background doing stuff you are not aware of - possibly malware
My battery is getting worst now and I just got sot 5hours
Anyone every try to replace the battery here ?

Maybe try analyze what app using most of your battery?
The EXACT SAME setup as yours. Maybe 1h on data, the other on WiFi
Reinstalled the newest version of rr, mint kernel. Hope it helps.

stock march also isn't something to write home about, but atleast its better than op
Well, first of all, Facebook Messenger is a battery killer.
Check your apps and the strength of your data signal. Poor strength or signal loss has a huge impact on battery life.
Also how do you use your phone? What kind of usage?
Enable adaptive brightness. I get around 4.5H SOT @50%.
I saw Facebook notification
Get Frost Test app in Apps and Games in XDA
I think it was a problem with the ROM. Now i have about 6-7 hours of SOT with AOSP Extended and Franco Kernel. All apps are the same, nothing changed.
Same for me i also facing battery problem
