Hi Guys,
Do I have an issue with my android os? Seems to be keeping my phone awake and downloading a lot over WiFi. I have no idea why, but I think it's killing my battery life. I am lucky to get 4 hours SOT.
Post yours for comparison

How did you update? Did you fresh install or update over lp?
Yesterday it took me 8 hours to use 7% battery

Yes true, the screen shots are from the same day and why would the battery percentage matter? the battery graph is to show how android os might be keeping my phone awake even when the screen is off.
it would instead be helpful if you could tell me what your Android OS usage is? Or how you get such good battery life?
I did a clean install using flashtool (wiped everything) with the RU firmware.
Do you have Google backup on?

Yes I did have it on. I have turned it off along with uninstalling Facebook and turning off google now. so I will see how my phone performs today..
I have the same issues. Yesterday my screen on time was 2.5 hours and the Android OS consumed most of my battery (more than screen) keeping my phone awake for more than 7 hours. I barley made it through the day

I performed a full software repair via PC companion and cleared the cache partition too. I am presuming it might be that because i am essentially "starting again" the phone has to re-adjust to my usage patterns.
But it should not affect the battery life by that much! I am so mad about this update.
my android os is 25% active
it seems like the radio mobile active bug is gone in MM, but we have now a "android os active bug"

On a full charge with no wifi, no sync, lowest brightness, no gps etc I'm getting roughly 1 to 2 hours of talk time and maybe a total of 4 to 5 hours battery life with the screen off. I pretty much have to travel everywhere with a charger and its starting to drive me nuts.
Is it worth it to switch to another distro ? Anyone else having this issue ?
Are you on the latest version? I'm using version 2.3 and it lasts more than 24 hours on a single charge.
I guess you have to replace your battery, mate
wow ... 24 hours :-.
Can you post your statistics ?

These numbers are off btw due to the constant charging every few hours.

What kind of drain are you getting in terms of mA? Download current widget and check this. It should be 4 or 5 mA in standby.
Sent from my NexusHD2 using XDA
Do u use any app2sd script? in 2.0 some people got an extremly high battery drain, because of app2sd (~50-70mA on Standby). Maybe try to reflash u're rom without any app2sd and check the drain again.
Sorry for the late reply, guys. I've been busy lately. Well, here is a screenshot of my HD2 after a day of moderate use running TyTung's NexusHD2 ICS v2.3

Android system used 46% of battery! Ideas?

What's so weird about that? Your device has been on for nearly 8 hours and it's at 73% battery life. You've clearly not been using the device very much in that time, so obviously the system processes will have a higher percentage than anything else.
Exactly the same thing happened with me today. I've never had android system consuming more battery than my screen, and today the android system battery consumption stood at almost 50% (twice that of screen). The tablet was idle for around 12 hours (WiFi off) and the battery fell by around 15%. Never ever happened before.
I upgraded to 4.2 a couple of days back.

Do you use Llama or any other app like that by any chance? I'm just trying to figure out what could be the root cause of this
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
same for me with the new 3g 32gb and 4.2
tablet been on 3 hours and 36 mins done nothing with it and its already used 25% battery
Android OS is at 64%
old 16gb with 4.2 on, same time and just sitting doing nothing only used 3% battery
Android OS at 4%
any thoughts ??
Bob
Haven't been able to figure out the reason unfortunately. If I do, would definitely post on here. Hope you guys would do the same.

Hello, after period with marshmallow, my phone was over heated and battery drain was awful.
I installed gsam battery monitor and found that nova launcher consume 40%.
I uninstalled nova and phone battery is great ! And no more over heat.
I'm with Google launcher now.
same
Everyone that has that issue with nova, please add review at play store, hoping they will fix that.

It's just 0.2 percent for me so far. Maybe something to do with permissions

It's not happening to everyone all the time.
I just curious if more people are suffering from this issue.

Yes, please post app usage and screen on time. Thank you.
I'm at 61% right now
Here's my SOT from the second full charge. One of the best that I've seen with my usage.

Good mate but you charged it a bit
Not bad at all for this battery/hardware combo.
Stock ROM rooted with Magisk and Force Doze
At 55% battery I'm looking at 4 hours 11 minutes screen on time. Usage split between YouTube and chrome.
I got down to 12% battery, had 6:50 SOT. Youtube, loudspeaker music/podcast, lots of Chrome, some social media. Really happy so far.
Straight usage. 100 -> 49
4:43 of SoT
YouTube and Chrome.
I have force doze so I think during standby it'll flatline. Just can't stop using my phone though.
Screenshots speaks for it self

Here's mine from yesterday. Almost 6hrs S.O.T with 50% battery remaining.
First full day with device.
Includes 1.5 hours of GPS and Bluetooth streaming
Very happy with results.

I'm very happy with my results after first full charge and purposely pushing it to test the battery.
High accuracy and all battery consuming features on.:good::good:
First days of normal usage since I received my U11 one week ago. Got to say I'm honestly impressed and like what I got.
Battery life looks great
Why is the used time being broken down as if the device was restarted when it hasn't. I made sure that this app could use background data as well. I sent the developer an email last week but as per usual they can't be bothered responding. Uptime of device has been over 36 hours.

I've not had that issue, only problem I had was when I did the auto-restart at night it counted it as two seperate sessions, but judging by your battery life and working gsam you're on the SD (I'm on the exynos)
God dam 4 hours of SOT and 12 hours standby for 29% battery :crying:
Have you done much in terms of optimisation?

I'm a light user mate. I don't stream movies and only my basic location services are on, not high accuracy. Bluetooth is also off and my all my advanced options are off except for swipe left or right to respond to a contact. I have disabled all of Bixby via package disabler. Auto brightness is also off.
I use accubattery pro and also gsam to monitor.

Not sure if this is the problem. Did play store updated the app during the period of time?
