Does hotspot work on T-Mobile for Wi-Fi tethering?
Supposedly it should. I'll test when I get home.
Works just fine on the Pro 3 when I tested it
To other phones? It works for that. If you mean tethering to a PC or laptop I have no idea.

Hmmm I just tried hotspot feature today and found out that it is not working properly. Other phone can connect but internet is not working. What could be the reason?
Well I am on MetroPCS (riding on T-Mobile network)
X727 on T-Mobile... I have been tethering with no issues since day one. Tablets, PC, TV, Xbox, and other phones. Worked with all.
I don't know about Tmobile, but I can confirm the USA version x727 works perfectly on AT&T. (Even on my unlimited grandfathered plan that doesnt allow tethering officialy)

I'm trying to get the wifi hotspot to work on my wildfire, I can connect everything - wifi, mobile network etc. But the wifi hotspot doesn't work anymore - even though it has worked in the past. When I activate everything under the Portable wi-fi hotspot check box it says "no mobile network"
Can anyone help me out?

Just check ur kernal because I heard the new jacubs has WiFi issuse so install his version 4.1 that one works fine no issuses

I'm not using Jacobs kernal, all ive got is sunbabs. It has worked before using the same setup
I'm on t-mobile too and i noticed this feature has stopped working (on my desire) even though it has worked in the past. All I can assume is that t-mobile have blocked this service and now only offer it with their (more expensive) web n walk max plan - the same plan you need to have to be able to make skype and voip calls over 3G.
I doubt its a kernel issue because it worked fine when i was on holiday in India where I purchased a 3g sim card with an unlimited data plan.
Update:
Just out of curiosity i tried the wifi hotspot again and to my surprise it now works. I didn't change any of the settings on my laptop or the phone. So i guess the service isnt just available on webnwalk max. I don't know what causes the problem - sorry.

I am having a problem with wifi calling. I am on a stock un-rooted Nexus 6p on T-Mobile.
I was just in Columbia and wifi calling would not work.
I tested my wifi strength and I was at 5 Megs up and 5 5 megs down.
My wifi calling works and connects fine the the USA every time.
My problems with Wifi calling while international also took place in Amsterdam and Germany.
I did try to connect to my VPN in the US then turn back on wifi calling so that T-Mobile would think that I was in the USA.
Has anyone had this problem ?? What is the way to fix it???

You don't need to VPN back to the US. If you are overseas, you can connect to local WiFi to make free calls back to US numbers. Any calls made to non-US numbers will be charged at the applicable long distance rates.
Anyways, if you are trying to connect to a public wifi, many require a check-in via web browser. then you will be able to use wifi calling.
I can confirm that I was properly connected to the hotel wifi. I can also confirm that the port or ports were not blocked on the hotel wifi network because 2 other of my friends were there on the same network and were able to use wifi calling. My friends are also on T-mobile.
Is there a way to check the status of wifi calling on Nexus 6p running 6.0.1. Like I said it works fine in the US.
That's interesting. I am rooted on pure nexus and works fine in USA. I haven't traveled out of the country to test. But I will be in traveling a lot the next few months so I really hope it works.

I have flashed the g935u firmware on my g935v device. I had root and flashed the wifi and verizon visual voice mail. I lost volte and wifi calling after since im not using verizon. I use Metropcs which is t-mobile , I need to use my hotspot as I dont have internet at my house and I pay for unlimited internet on my phone. I have unrooted and now am using the stock rom g935u. There was a ton of lag on the rom and freezing from time to time as well as overheating at one point. I bought fox-fi and wifi tether router already which have worked on my previous devices.(wifi tether router: tmobile note 3,tmobile s6 edge +,fox fi verizon note edge). I need help in obtaining unlimited hotspot via wifi on this device. I have pda net working good via usb tethering, I'm actually using it right now. I also dont have cable as I used netflix with a chromecast to watch movies(besides the over the air channels) I need some help please and thank you:good:
Well I finally found a solution. It does involve connecting the phone to a computer via usb and running pda.net( paid version) with WiFi sharing. I can now watch unlimited Netflix via chromecast with no vpn. Completely stock g935u rom on a g935v device BTW. All this without rooting the device and having the issues that comes along with root at the moment. Works great! Wooohooo!
I started with Straighttalk's T-Mobile Sim.
Worked great, except tethering was a pain to get working, and was impossible to disable voicemail. HD calling worked right away.
Switched to the Straighttalk Verizon sim.
Everything works great except HD calling.
Switched to Total Wireless Verizon sim (by calling straighttalk and just asking to switch to my new sim without mentioning anything about total wireless)
Exactly the same as the Verizon sim. No HD calling (volte)

Anyone on straighttalk get VOLTE to work?
Does anyone have VoLTE working successfully on AT&T? I've tried various tutorials to activate VoLTE and they don't seem to work for AT&T specifically. Every time I call AT&T, they tell me they have provisioned my SIM for VoLTE on my OP5 but it is still not working. With AT&T shutting down their 3G network in February 2022, I will have to purchase another device if I can't get VoLTE working successfully. I love my OP5 and I have zero desire to upgrade at this time. Any help would be appreciated!

No, unfortunately! I found a few people who said they did get VoLTE working on their 5T but I did not find one person who got it working successfully on their OP5. Ultimately, I switched to T-Mobile and VoLTE is working perfectly! My sexy lives on!
