[Q] Carrier doesn't release updates

Dear all,
first of all, sorry if this question is repeated, but I couldn't find a good answer by searching.
I bought a i9505 Galaxy S4 that came with a version of Android that has been modified by the carrier. There's a lot of bloatware and everything, but worse, they haven't even released the Android 4.3.
Can I install a "default" firmware of a i9505 Galaxy S4, in order to solve this problem? Clean, carrier free?
If yes, can someone post a guide on how to do this? I'm completely new to this subject, have no experience at all.
Thank you very much in advance!
Anyone?
This problem is really annoying me...
Another try...
Is it possible to just flash android again or do I need to root my phone?
I'm new to Android.

You can directly flash a rom from your country free of branch (fob) or unbranched (ub), their updates are faster than carrier ones. You don't need to root the phone to do this.

Great, that already helps a lot. I'll find a way to do that. Thank you!

Well, searching in Sammobile I found out that my firmware is Brazil (VIVO) - ZVV. (Vivo is the carrier)
Can I just flash Brazil - ZTO (which is carrier free) with Samsung Kies?
Thank you!

You can flash that rom, but not with kies... kies will only update your installed rom, it is, zvv firmware. You must flash zto rom by Odin 3.09. It is easy, just search the forum.

How to put the RETASIA 6.0 on a moto e2 (works in XT1524&XT1527)

I will explain how to put it in my XT1524 XT1521 Asia Retail for Dual Sim
Only for moto e 2 4g/LTE SURNIA
Needless to say that if you do it fits under your responsibility is, I just share something I've done and threads reading before I leave the links should not happen anything wrong. But I said, under your responsibility.
• You have to unlock the Bootloader to flash a different version you have. I did it with this script @Alkalinorap: http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=982981 (Spanish fórum)
• Once unlocked the bootloader using a modification of the script @Alkalinorap this thread: http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=985706
I recommend you read it so that you know what you are doing.
The amendment is in this post: http://www.htcmania.com/showpost.php?p=21016820&postcount=122
RETASIA then simply download the 6.0 version of this other thread:
http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?p=18736577
And follow the instructions in the script.
By doing this modified script we omit the flashing modem and bootloader, so we will not have problems both signal as the boot loader, in my case I am still in the 80.8D version corresponding to the latest version of the XT1524 the RETEU 5.1. 1
Takes a long time at the first start, be patient, but then works perfectly, only I will appear as if it had dual sim, is the firm that is a DS.
But so far 0 bugs. I set the SD card and internal storage, and although it has taken some time format works swimmingly.
Versión Supersu (thanks to @letritide ) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65732760&postcount=157

I guess if it's just a matter of test ... No flashing the bootloader you can always get you back into the previous firm completely flashing.

Thank you guys! I tried on my XT1527 and works so well! I notice it has some features like the slo-mo recording without need of modding
Can someone please make a nandroid backup of the clean rom and upload it?

I believe that once you go with PJ2 there's no going back. Until the PJ2 tar is available for download you'll need to go to your service provider for them to flash it.

Changing carrier ROMs US variant S7 edge

Have a question here, we get a lot of US imported phones here in Pakistan, mostly AT&T and Verizon S7 edge phones.
They've got carrier bloat and whatnot, I remember reading people flashing Verizon ROMs to get that to work properly on their AT&T phone and flashing AT&T on a T-Mobile phone to get that to work properly, so if one flashes a G935U firmware on a G935V, is it expected to work fine and act as an ordinary Snapdragon 820 S7 edge with no carrier bloat or anything?
All replies will be appreciated.
Thanks

I tried flashing G930U on my G930V through odin but it failed. It appears that I can't flash anything using odin. The only way by which I was able to install a firmware manually was through stock recovery by Applying update from sd card.

I have, but there have been reports of it not working for some people as well, so I wanted to know if it's a legit method or if it's trial and error and it works for some and it doesn't work for others, because if it does work officially, then it'd solve a huge headache on choosing US variant phones here and we can all relax since the 935U firmware can be flashed on carrier branded phones.
Now, I need to get my hands on an American S7 edge to test this out myself.
Off course without testing nothing can be confirmed ... But most people r too faint hearted to try it

All of them. AP includes the system, recovery and cache, CP includes modem, BL includes bootloader, and CSC includes sales code.
The ROMs for S7 usually come with CSC and HOME_CSC, the latter will not wipe your device and keep the Verizon CSC which may cause issues and require you to factory reset your phone, the normal CSC files wipes the data and switches your CSC to the new one you're trying to flash.
Choose whichever one you want but I'd suggest the normal CSC just to be safe.

The main issue with me was poor battery life which was resolved when I reverted back to marshmallow. But I have yet to test the battery life on nougat. Other than this, phone is running smoothly and it feels light now due to no bloatware.

Backup your data, Download the latest INS (India) firmware for your device. Insert the Jio sim in slot 1 and flash the firmware through Odin. Use the regular CSC and not the Home_CSC as we need to factory reset the device. Post that you should have the INS CSC.

Search for the Oreo Odin update on Google that was released for India a week back but it is no longer available as Sam took it down. Otherwise, flash the last Nougat version. Yes, you'll loose root, twrp etc as the phone would return to the stock condition. I could have recommended flashing files through twrp, but I believe, your active CSC is messed up so a clean flash is highly recommended.

You're doing something wrong. The active CSC can't be BTU if you followed the steps correctly. Till the time, you don't completely wipe the device, it would never fall back to the correct CSC. Additionally, you need to have an Indian sim in Slot 1 before you do the process as system dynamically allocates the CSC based on the sim in slot 1.

In the firmware pckg, there are 2 CSC files, one is the regular CSC that completely (System,Data,Internal Storage) wipes the device and the other one is Home_CSC that wipes all except the Internal Storage. You need to use the regular CSC.
Else, right now go into Settings >> Reset and do a Factory Reset.
