First of all, sorry about my english, im brazilian, and sorry about any mistakes with the area of my thread.
I have a galaxy s4 9505 (i dont know the diference between the 9505 and 9505G).
I've noticed that the cellphone get 's hotter when im using my 3G..when i change my configurations to use 2g, the temperature decreases.
Someone can tell me which rom is the best to the cellphone, analyzing the durattion of battery and the temperature?

9505G is google addition, for the things you need it might be better to get a custom kernel
theres lots of roms, there all very good have a look see what one you like
dont forget you got to have root
roms here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2167

Hi. Everyone uses their phone differently, there's no such thing as a best ROM. Only best for you. Have a read of the numerous ROMs and test the ones that appeal to you. Only you can decide what's best.

Thanks for the answers, i asked because im searching the best rom about battery lifetime
If battery life is important then I would suggest WanamLite Rom. Fast enough and good battery life combined in a stable rom

I am about to get a new phone (now because I cracked the screen on my LG E980...) namely to have a better experience in customizing, etc.
I am aware that the S5 has somewhat better performance than the S4, but I am more interested in the options for ROM development and customize-ability. First off, what is the appropriate model name for the S5? (I'm on AT&T) Wondering this for compatibility purposes.. Also are there any software updates I should avoid? Will I need to go back to any old firmware/software version(s) to have better luck rotting or installing ROMs/recoveries?
Any insight appreciated, thanks!

The Galaxy S4 (in my opinion) is PERFECT for Customs Roms, Testing Kernals, etc.
The Galaxy S5 ( what I have) is PERFECT for Performance and Custom Roms ( If there are more) etc.
It's really based on what you like, I personally love the Galaxy S5. I had the Galaxy S4,and it was an AWESOME device.I just hate the battery life of the Galaxy S4 and the display (If you're into that stuff) Just be you and pick!
I have a S5 and I absolutely love it. But just try to get a model that can be rooted

That sounds awesome, good to hear! Right now AT&T has them both for like 80$ factory reconditioned so I am definitely going to jump on one of those.

Do you know how I can tell which model I'm getting? I see model names like 900F, G900, etc. but is there a way to see this when I am buying the phone? It is definitely going to be the version from the AT&T web store if that helps

The model number I believe is SM-G900AZKAATT
So yours will be G900A

- You can see the Model by enter the menu Settings -> About device.
- Or install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app to obtain even more detailed info.

No I know one can see the model number and software info and stuff from the About Device menu, but I was talking about viewing this about the device before buying it to avoid buying the wrong model lol

You can see the model number right on the box before opening it.
And the seller should tell you the correct model number before buying.

If I helped you please give thanks to me!
(Bottom left corner) It'll be much appreciated!
I had both. The main difference to me is the brighter screen and waterproof.
If you got the cash, buy a S5. Otherwise the S4 is still a great phone.

If you want a phone for performance buy a Galaxy s5(a bit better than s4), but if you want a phone for custom roms buy an s4.
Can't speak for the S4 other than that I tried a mates unit and liked it. Love me my S5 thou. Easy to root and to customize too...
As far as i understand, the att version of s5 is bootloader locked, so if you want to try custom ROMs based on AOSP, you need the G900F or G900T (T-Mobile). You can go to the dedicated model forum for more info.
Bought a N-910S. That's what's floating around these parts, was a good deal, didn't think much of it.
But after the usual trip to XDA to find a good debloated, fancified Touchwiz based latest and greatest, I come to see ....
Not much of anything.
It's all 910C, 910H, whatever, but no 910S. Yikes. Yikes?!
What gives? Googled, searched, read, can't figure it out. No love for the 910S? Do I need to open my living room window super wide and throw this thing as far as I can? What will happen to the 5.1 update, and me-never-ever-getting-it?
Omg. Stop me from going crazy right now. Shed some light on this totally human life existential drama question.

Surely you jest. I would rather have the S version than the H version. At least you get LTE unlike me with my H version.
Well ... no LTE-A on any of the prepaid carriers here.
What about ROMs? Does nobody know? I quietly wonder if ROMs from any other 910x might work but not finding answers via search.

The N910S is the equivanlent of the N910F in South Korea. There's not much info about it in internet, they seem to be the same device hardware-wise. They both use the same SoC and Modem so maybe N910F roms are cross-compatible with your device (They MAY be compatible or may not, If you want to use a N910F rom, do It at your own risk. Remember that a different rom in a non-compatible device would result in a hardbrick so be carefull). Download a N910F custom rom, delete the "modem" folder and flash it to your device via CWM, it may work.

Good one appreciate the insight. Though... worried about hard brick.
They have to be selling millions of these 910s. This one came straight from Korea, s/l must be a big market. Odd that there'd be no demand and supply of ROM goodness, yea?
Just got a second hand GS5 -- my first Android phone. I'm in Australia, and I noticed that during boot up it has a kind of loading page with Optus on it (Australian network)... why is that exactly? Is it locked to Optus...?
What's the benefit of rooting it? I plan to use this solely as a work phone - only texting and calling. I'd like it to have long battery life so I've turned on as many battery savings settings as I could find, save for the grey scale option. Anything I can do to further improve battery life?
What's the latest version of Android that the GS5 can run...?
I have bought GS5 not so long ago. I am in same doubt as you. Root it or not lol. I am not planning to flash custom rom on it because stock is fast and stable enough for normal use. GS5 received android MM aswell. You can disable some apps which you do not use to increase performance. Titanium Backup can do job aswell but phone has to be rooted.

I see I see, thanks. Yeah I don't think I need a custom rom on it, but I wonder if it's worthwhile changing the firmware to the one not tied to any particular network.

That home screen / battery life screen looks cool. So a custom rom is like the UI and everything from another phone made compatible with the GS5 (or other)??

that's theme from samsung theme store. what series of s5 do u have? if g900F, so get custom rom for F series.
u can get most of feature that ported firmware. Edge panel, direct to samsung theme store access, u can change the theme, icons, wallpaper.
everytime i buy an android, maybe only last for a month in stock . at that moment, i searching, reading and learn how to root my phone.
if people say that stock is better than custom rom, clearly they don't know what they talking about
try it..and be addict to flashing :good::fingers-crossed:

i loved the Lineage OS concept(extremely debloated) but i hated the UI and it didnt have Google apps or samsung apps/theme app.
i'd like to DL the apps/stuff that i'm going to use and dont have alot of crap from the start.. i'd be forever greatful is someone could help me thrue this jungle and point me to the correct rom to use because frankly, i'm sick and tierd of having to spend my days testing/installing other roms.

Welcome to the forums
Alrightyo. First thing, would be useful to have the model number code e.g. mine is G935F . Judging by ur country in ur profile, you should have the G935F (BUT CHECK). Most ROMs support G935F.
It seems like you want a light and clean ROM but dont like the stock google/pixel/nexus interface. I understand that feeling exactly. Therefore I advise a light touchwiz ROM.
I would recommend Decent Ultralite for you https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/rom-decent-ultralite-n1-0-t3543833 . This is the lightest touchwiz ROM for S7 edge that I know of. It is utilitarian, providing excellent functionality, debloat with some minor mods.
And since it is on my signature - I use Superman ROM if you wanna try that out too it is also en excellent choice. It comes with some debloat options but I personally had to give it a bit of liposuction afterwards. It obviously is not as light of a ROM as Decent, but I still get excellent speed and battery (I praise this all the time in my other posts so I wont start here). It comes with many mods and tweaks in the Aroma installer and some extra mods and tweaks in the Superman Settings app that comes with it. Alot of the tweaks make a difference functionally or aesthetically and if you care about UI, this may make a difference to you. https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/rom-s7-edge-rom-v1-1-t3356699
Hope this helps
