my first impression of the le pro 3(us version) - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

So I've been using this phone so far since Tuesday and while it's not as smooth as the pixel imo, it still runs pretty smooth. Even more so after the update i just got today. I did an unboxing & first impression video with my thoughts on it here:

Thank you for sharing. Someone said he could unlock his bootloader after the update. Can you please verify if that's true?

It's temporary and after a reboot unlocks. I believe they are trying to gain root still by flashing SuperSU before it relocks

Has anyone found news about 2.3 for us???

I wake up everyday looking for news about 2.3 getting released. I am on 2.2.1 so I lost the ability to root. So i hope this comes out soon and if anyone has any info please post.
Officially it should come out in "coming weeks" as this tweet suggests - http://twitter.com/googlenexus/status/16974464310845440.
But there's a way to root your 2.2.1 anyways. Follow this guide:

Just unlock your bootloader.
I have tried the super one click no luck
Other than unlocking, which is the preferred and safest way to do it. You could just follow the guide that was linked here. I did it for my friend just last week because he was afraid of the official way to root for some reason. It worked perfectly.
Yeah I did it the rageagainstthecage way.

Works fine for me. Did you get stuck at the looping problem after following the steps in the OP?
The way around that, as many of us have discovered, is to turn the phone off then run SuperOneClick and select 'root'. Turn the phone back on once 'waiting for device..' is shown in the program and then just leave it until it finishes.
Ensure USB debugging is enabled before you get started and that your PC has the required drivers installed. (Check Device Manager).
To be fair the Original Post needs updating as the instructions aren't very good without the above being mentioned.

Dumb question but, does that method allow you to install custom roms (e.g. CM7) without unlocking the bootloader, thus keeping the warranty?

Using exploit to root allows you to get rooted device without unlocking the bootloader. However, I cannot tell you 'your warranty is kept' for certain(as long as bootloader is locked and you can revert to stock, I think it's okay).

This does not unlock the boot loader....... and, yes you can flash roms once rooted.
Good luck on that warrenty buisness.

If you do revert to stock there should be no way to tell you ever modified the rom, isn't that right?

His question isn't about relocking the bootloader. But as long as you reflash the stock ROM and recovery, then I don't think there would be a way to tell without further examination. Regardless, HTC isn't too strict with the warranty claims, as many members on this forum have claimed warranty and sent back rooted phones to HTC. You should be fine.

that's 3 weeks. "coming weeks" being a PR equivalent of more than a month, we should be waiting for gb another 2 weeks at least...
It's only 5% of GB, but you can have the keyboard from it. A definite improvement and works perfectly on my N1 with 2.2.1 (no root needed):

Post MHC19l update camera does not work at all

So i recently updated to the new mhc19l version on my nexus 6p (this is not android N, just the latest android update for the 6p). I did it via the flashfire method following this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvs0JQswTWw&feature=youtu.be
I dont have multirom so i didnt do the stuff it mentioned about that. At first I thought I was successful and everything was working great. I reflashed xposed to the latest version, and updated my elemental X kernal too.
But now when I do anything with the camera the phone gets really weird. Post reboot the camera preview will work only once. If I take a photo it crashes. And every time I try to do anything with the camera involved the thing will crash and not even load preview anymore. That includes 3rd party apps like snap chat. Also I can't edit quick setting tiles in system ui as it tells me system ui tuner has crashed, but that i can live with. The camera issues I can not live with.
None of that happens with my rooted 6p on the same build. I think you need to look at xposed, the kernel changes and all the other jiggerypokery you've done. I'd do begin by reflashing the factory image and do this manually either using Heisenberg's extremely clear guide, or by the flash-all.bat command that google supplies in the factory build. Then you can check camera, flash recovery (again, using Heisenberg's guide, it takes but a couple of commands), then root, add xposed, kernels and all that special sauce. Do it step by step, then you'll know when something goes wrong and only have to fix that.
Thank you for your help. I'll check that out. Do you think it may be because I updated from a pretty old build? (808L) I skipped a few updates and went right to the latest one, could that cause any problems?
Not really. I think it's because you've done too much using a tool and without checking things after each step. Stop using tools like flashfire when you don't understand what they do and get yourself up to speed with using the commands. After that, you'll spot where things have gone wrong and be able to fix or troubleshoot it within the community. No one can help you when it's an issue that could caused by one or more of a hundred things you've tinkered with.
It's not hard and worth the little bit of busy work and brain thought. You'll enjoy it!
Yea I like to tinker and stuff. It's just the customizations with dashclock and stuff that I don't want to lose. But I did app backups so hopefully I won't.
Something probably went wrong during the flash process. I highly doubt xposed or kernel modifications are to blame. I keep 12 xposed modules running at all times with kylo kernel which I have heavily modified with EX kernel app. Read Heisenberg's guide and learn to flash images properly and you should be good to go.
Before I do any reflashing today can anyone do me a favour and upload their camera APK?
Im just hoping it has something to do with that. Last ditch effort.
And thanks for the help guys
So i gotta ask. Using flashire only is it possible to lock the bootloader and flash small incremental updates without a problem? Its a bit sad to have a unlocked bootloader...

Locking the bootloader is nothing but trouble. You know what's sadder than having an unlocked bootloader? Having a bricked phone because an OTA failed and your bootloader is locked. If that happens there's no way to save it.

What method did you use to update? Did you use an OTA zip? Or factory images? I'd Is there a reason you used Flashfire instead of updating the proper way?
Any Advice ?

Hello you seem very knowledgeable on the subject. I just picked up a 6P and was wondering how does encryption affect things such as TWRP and root. Do you advise to disable encryption on the device for ease-of-use in TWRP and root.

No, because if the OTA fails you won't have access to the option in Developer Options to enable OEM unlocking. Trust me, you want to have that bootloader unlocked. You don't wanna end up like the other guys who had to send their phone back for repair because they locked it.

Trust me when I say my son's phone has the update to marshmallow it has. I did the update for him myself it has Android 6.0.1. The service provided for his phone is T-Mobile. Remember Alcatel sells this phone through AT&T Cricket line so I'm quite sure they have a real serious reason to update this model especially since it is now sold by a nationwide service provider.

You actually don't need root to install TWRP.
In order to root the Idol 3 we had to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and then flash SuperSU.

So, to get back to stock I only have to restore one of the stock backups in this thread through TWRP. Is it that simple or am I missing something?

Idol 3 Update MTP issues
I updated my phone earlier today and now it won't connect to my Windows 10 computer thru the MTP option. I even with thru the Developer and selected/unselected/reselected it and my laptop still won't see it. All I see is a file with drivers. I haven't rooted, and won't, my phone. Any suggestions out there on how to fix this? BTW when updating to Android 6.0.1 it made me format my SD card, so I lost all my music but thought it wasn't a big deal since I'd upload it back to my phone, but now I can't. I'd appreciate the help.
Thanks!

Developer Option Allowing the bootloader to be unlocked
I just picked up the zmax pro tonight. I was going through making changes to the settings as I always do with a new phone and enabled the "Developer Options". As I was scrolling down I came across an option labeled " OEM Unlocking: Allow the bootloader to be unlocked". Well of course I enabled it.
Now from the knowledge I have about rooting, you have to have the bootloader unlocked to root. So by enabling the OEM Unlock are you just allowing the bootloader to be unlocked or are you unlocking the bootloader?
I look forward to hearing back.

You are just allowing the bootloader to be unlocked . As it said. To unlock the bootloader, you need the help of the genius hackers here. Unfortunately, like one of the posters here said our phone is unpopular which I say again, I don't know why, this is a good phone for me.
But then again, I really don't see the point of rooting any phone anymore, new phones already have all the things you want to put on your phones and why you root them right?
If I ever root my phone though, I definitely will install xposed. I like that they have repositories remind me of kodi, which is the best hack of em all. Is exposed made by kodi people?

It depends. I haven't been able to find any official word from Xiaomi about it. Some get instant unlocks, some get 3-day, 7-day, 15-day, 30-day or 60-day waiting periods.
I will say that I had two devices in the waiting period. One at 15 days and the other at 30 days. I waited 15 days and unlocked one.
Then I went to check on the remaining hours of the second device and it had been reset to 30 days :/
So it may have something to do with how many phones you've unlocked in X amount of days.
