Do not disturb turns on according to the schedule but doesn't turn back off according to the schedule. It did when i first got the phone but then stopped working.
Anyone else have this occurring? Any ideas on a fix?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Works for me, DND turns on everyday at 10PM and shuts off again at 8:30 everyday with no intervention.
I'm on T-Mobile.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know why mine won't turn off anymore.
Mine doesn't turn off either unless I set it to on a daily schedule.
Tappin' and talkin' with Tapatalk.
I set a schedule for DND and nothing happened. Didn't turn itself on or off. DND on the V20 is basically a totally manual affair. I had bought it to replace a Moto X Pure but DND and several other wonky aspects of LG's software led me to return it.

Never experienced that
I don't know, My first N7 is faulty but not that bad, maybe your tablet is reading your mind and it turns on when your thinking about using it?
How are you turning it off? Tapping the power button only turns off display.

It's clearly haunted.
Or an app is waking it up to sync / find location / steal and transmit your data.
Have you tried running Avast ? Locking all the running apps ?

So how does the alarm clock work

quite strange..
I don't believe apps can turn it on when it's off..so if you turn your N7 off, your alarm is disabled. at least, I'm pretty sure of that.
And, so you watch it turn off all the way? And later on it's on?
Is it plugged in to the charger?
Have you ever watched it for a little while [while you were doing something else, just glancing at it once in a while] to see if it just randomly turns on?

really? but how does that work?
that means the clock app must be able to control the rtc hardware, and tell it to power up at a certain time... I didn't know they'd done that on the N7...

Calendar -> Settings -> General Settings -> uncheck Notifications

Or I suppose if you like you could disable calendar sync in Accounts & Sync, and then erase Calendar's data.
Hi can someone on stock rom please try to see if alarms go off while phone is off? It don't seem to work on pure nexus which is worrying.
Do you mean when the phone's screen is off, when the phone is on silent, or if the phone is physically off?
If your phone's screen is off, the alarm will go off, if your phone is silent, your alarm will go off. If your phone is off, then it is off and the alarm will not go off.

My HTC M9 did it as Google implemented this in 4.0 or 5.0 not sure.
It was not a HTC feature.
What the .. How is the alarm supposed to go off of the phone is powered off and the OS is not running. You are indeed mistaken about this.

HTC devices don't truly turn off, they're in a kind of hibernate mode, similar to Windows 8. If you let the battery drain entirely on a HTC device it takes much longer to boot afterwards.

I think the above post explains it all for you. Nexus phones do not have such feature as your HTC did. When the phone is powered down it is as if the battery was pulled and it is truly off. No alarms will go off.
I had had fastboot turned off on my HTC so it did not hibernate.
Guess HTC found a way to do it. Never mind, need to make sure I always have enough charge for airplane mode and nights sleep.

Why do you need airplane mode? If doze works properly, then it shouldn't lose power quickly. But why not just charge the phone while you are sleeping and have your phone on silent if you don't want to be bothered?
Plenty of phones have this feature, but not on any Android I know of (I don't have an M9 but my M7 does not do this). My old Nokia E63 did it as well.
I wish more phones would have it though, as its great not having to worry about that one time your battery dies overnight and your alarm doesn't go off.

It used work on my Galaxy S3 & S4 as well. you need to have encryption disabled and password on start up disabled to make it work. I did not try that on my 6P, because my work forces me to encrypt my phone.
Alarm with phone off
My mate 9 has this feature. I set my alarm for whatever time. When I power my phone off there is a box that has a check mark in it saying keep alarm active after power off. If I leave the checkmark in my phone alarm will still ring at the desired time. Even though a phone is off there is still internal power to the clock. Works great. Hope this helps.
6P probably doesn't have the required H/W (and associated boot-loader).
Disabling encryption or setting File-based encryption or disabling pin to start will only help if the phone reboots itself.
I am running the Oreo beta and none of my LED notifications are working. Not for messenger or allo. Also the charging light does not work. Is this a known bug on Oreo?
Speaking of notifications, anyone know why ambient display won't turn on when I get a new SMS when I'm using Textra, but it will do so when I'm using Google Messenger?

On TMo. It is working. Check whether LightFlow has the right permissions...
I'm in the same boat. Oreo beta broke my LED notifications and my Bluetooth. Every once in awhile the red charging LED will come if I plug the phone in and the battery is really low, but for the most part I get nothing. I've installed lightflow and even tried a factory reset with no luck.

Did you check the settings, because they are disabled by default. Oreo changes the way that notifications are handled, so defaults kick-in.
Working fine for me, including charge indicator.

I'm in the same situation (one plus 3) have you found a solution?
I would have asked Verizon, but I need a Verizon number to contact customer support.
I enabled the developer options on my smartwatch and toggled on the option to stay awake when charging, but the screen still turns off. It even turns off if ambient mode is enabled. I suspect it has something to do with dock mode overriding those settings. Is anyone else having this problem or found a solution?
Thanks!
Edit:
I found you can disable the charging app from settings. This prevents dock mode from starting, but doesn't keep the screen on. I found that enabling stay awake while charging in developer options keeps apps open but turns off the back-light. If you look very closely, you can see whatever is open faintly. Disabling it will go to ambient mode, but still switch off the screen.
I finally wrote a quick app to do what I want.

My screen still turns off with the app set to stay awake while charging. I have tried with the dev options enabled and disabled for stay awake while charging. Do I also need to enable debugging as well?

No. Mine works without debugging on or the stay awake while charging option. It also works fine with always on screen setting on or off. I'm assuming you are using the Wear24. If your watch was running Oreo it might be more aggressive about stopping the app, but I wrote a case for that.
Is the notification displaying? If you dismiss that Android Wear may stop the background process.
For me I'm unable to disable it it's on all the time while charging enabled or disabled

Hi. I have a weird problem. When anyone rings me on WhatsApp my phone screen doesn't wake up, it stays on the always on display with the WhatsApp symbol there, so i have to double tap display to wake the screen to see who is calling. I've never had this problem before on any phone and my last phone was the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
Also on my lock screen I'm just getting a symbol from whatever app messaged me and I then have to click the app symbol to see the message, whereas before it would have the header and part of the message written. I don't know what's happened. Hopefully someone can help me out? Thanks in advance.

Is it normal for the screen not to wake up when you get a WhatsApp call or video call? Is it a new feature to preserve battery or do I need to factory reset my phone? I've uninstalled it then reinstalled it and still the same. Is there a setting I'm missing? Thanks

You can enable Always on Display and set it to continuous.

My aod is set to continuous. When I get a WhatsApp call or WhatsApp videocall my screen does not wake up it just stays on the aod screen and I have to press the power button to wake the screen to see who is calling and to answer. Whereas if I get a normal voice call the screen wakes up automatically which is normal.
My issue is WhatsApp is not waking my screen.

I'm actually having the same problem too.
Another issue I also noticed is when I have WhatsApp calls, the phone does not go into deep sleep after (it's documented in other threads related to deep sleep).
I raised this issue to Samsung support, but no reply so far. I'm not expecting any tbh. I hope a firmware or Whatsapp update fixes these issues.

Oh, so WhatsApp is not waking up your screen either? And yeh I noticed my battery was draining really hard and followed that other thread about it. So i rebooted and its fine atm. Luckily I don't get alot of calls over WhatsApp.
Nobody else besides us two that WhatsApp is not waking up the screen for? Bit strange.

Yep, a reboot fixes the drain issue, my battery standby goes from below average to pretty decent after the reboot. I think more and more are noticing this issue as we're monitoring deep sleep problems.
I wonder if more have call not lighting up the screen issue. I noticed edge lighting not working for a lot on whatsapp, so could be related.
Having the same issue of WhatsApp call not waking up
Hello good folk.
WhatsApp calling is not waking up my screen with AOD on and when my phone is locked.
As soon as I take it off, however, the WhatsApp call wakes up my screen as per normal. This never happened before my last update. Even with AOD enabled, the calls would wake up the screen.
I went from nougat to oreo and then I did another auto update after that nougat to oreo update. When this update occurred, I started to notice the issue.
Hope something gets figured out.
