SOD (Sleep Of Death) OP2 - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
does anyone know how to fix Sleep of death issue on the oneplus 2 ? im facing this problem for more than 6 months now.
my phone wont wake up from sleep unless i hold the power button for about 10 sec , the phone will reboot and i will lose about 20 % to 40 % from the battery.
this problem happens once every 2 - 3 days
ive tried the following:
*cache and dalvik cache wipe.
* factory reset
* Rooting the phone and installing a custom ROM ( the problem happened on the stock ROM even before i root it or change the ROM to a custom one )
Any solutions ?
thanks in advance

If u face same problem in different rom then i think its hardware problem.

I'll say it's a battery issue

TF101 Random Reboots after ICS .27

Hi you all,
My transformer TF101 (.27) has been doing random reboots (RR).
The TF101 lasts for about an hour after each firmware update (.27), then when RR starts, it occurs for on average 4-7 minutes
after each reboot.
I have not rooted to install a custom ROM yet (as warranty goes then).
Will a custom ROM help? Any custom ROM you advise?
Anyone has a solution? Explanation? Thanks.
I tried the things below which does not work:
1. Installed App wakelock (set to partial wake lock and reboot on startup)
2. Disabled notifications for every 12 hours in nvidia tegra zone
3. Hard Factory reset (holding volume down and power button for 12 seconds and choosing wipe)
4. Factory Reset (Reset 3 times in a row from settings)
5. Installed App: Auto airplane mode.
6. Downloaded latest firmware from asus website (corresponds to build model TW and installed on root and updated firmware again - 4 times)
7. Tried forcing stop on most applications from settings and clearing cache
8. Mailed asus for a possible solution (hopeless )

Ive read rooting and installing a custom rom/kernel has helped people overcome them i cant say because ive never had this issue, You can revalidate your warranty just by unrooting and flashing the stock firmware
Id start by trying with Revolver and/or Revolution HD, with a guevor kernel

IMO ARHD is good idea but with stock kernel at the beginning, if he notice that everything is ok, he can flash kernel.
Well speaking from personal experience I had RRs frequently when ICS first rolled off in Feb, after a couple of months I switched to ROMs. Using Megatron 1.16 and Guevor's kernel 21.5, longest run time was 300 hrs. Very stable ROM. I did have RRs but that was once in a blue moon nothing that will impede your daily use. Now I am running the JB ROM from team EOS.
regarding warranty issues, I had to send mine back for power button fix but it was easy to go back to stock either thru Nandroid backup or Asus stock firmware update via CMW recovery. No worries.

[Q] GT-I9500 Soft/Battery issue

Hey guys,
I don't usually ask questions rather than searching for threads/similar problems and try to fix mine.
But, this one's serious
I've had my Galaxy SIV GT-I9500 for 2 months now. I usually try CyanogenMod and other roms(Omega and Crash)
As I used to do so on my previous android (non Samsung) phones.
Lately I've been having a strange issue that I can't even tell if it's a battery problem or it's a software glitch or a mistake I made before.
The problem is the phone usually stops when using it ... Freezes and then restarts (that's normal but.)
The WEIRD thing is that the phone boots again automatically ... Then a dialog shows that "Your Battery is critically low"
And I'm sure There was more than 90% battery.
Well I tried to figure out why and how to fix it... I found a similar problem but no one found what's the matter.
Things I've tried:
1- Flash Stock System, Kernel and everything else (100% Stock)
2- Flash A custom rom ...
3- Flash another custom rom.
4- wipe data/factory reset
5- Remove SD Card
6- Remove Sim Card
7- Tried Most custom kernels
9- Flash a Modem the right one for my country (Iraq)
Well, None of these helped
The problem usually appears at anytime . Most of it when using the phone not when Idol
Do any of you guys have any Suggestions for me ? or even a fix ?
Thank you ... If I find a solution I'll let you know so that people will benefit.
Thank you XDA

[Q] power button longpress menu does not pop up

Hello all,
My apologies if this is a common issue. I have searched but the only old thread about it is the following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190960
and no real answer was suggested there, which is why I am asking it again.
So the issue is the same as in that previous thread: quite often, when I longpress the power button, the menu (to shut down, put it on vibrate mode, ...) does not pop up. The only way to get it back is to hold the power button until the phone shuts down, and then reboot the phone, after which it works again (for god knows how long).
I was rooted (with stock rom) before 4.3, but lost my root when updating to 4.3, so I was on stock ROM without root when the problem first appeared. Now yesterday I rooted again and flashed paranoid android ROM (first factory reset, clearing cache and dalvik cache), but the problem remains.
In that old thread one member solved the problem by flashing the stock kernel, however I have never flashed another kernel so I doubt the kernel is the problem?
If anybody knows the issue and a way to solve it, please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Maarten
You did flash a kernel when you flashed the rom
Wayne Tech Nexus
Hey there
No, as in the first post, I have never flashed another kernel on the nexus. Neither did I flash a new radio.
I had not flashed anything yet when the problem started, I only unlocked the bootloader and rooted my phone when I first got it (but it worked a long time without any problems)

My OnePlus2 seems to break more and more in software :/

Before some weeks ive been asking here what ROM I should use. Ive done this cause my power drains to fast.
So I switched back to OxygenOS3.0 and everything worked fine until today.
Today my phone got always authentification problems with my WiFi at Home.
So ive thought to fully unroot my device and go back on the first stock ROM.
But it fixed nothing and I also restart my router so thats not the fault.
Also the Fingerprint Sensor including the Touch Function doesnt work anymore ive also got this problem before a half year but fixed it very fast after installing CM13.
Now ive wanted to know if someone got the same problems or one of them and could help or give some advices the phone is only 1 year old and I didnt want to swap to another one until a year.

What I would do is flash some other roms and make sure that you're using the hybrid twrp
Or probably start over again after flashing stock ROM.
Before that try clearing cache and Dalvik which solves issues on most deodexed ROMs.

Phone reboots to TWRP automatically when powered on or offline charging

Hi,
For some reason my phone is booting to TWRP every time I try to Power On the phone or charge my phone while its turned off. I am facing this for these couple of weeks. I don't think I did any sort of change to device. It started to happen all of the sudden. The problem started on Stock TouchWiz 5.0. So I thought maybe flashing custom rom may fix it. So I tried to flash AospExtended ROM and the problem is still not gone. On top of it the phone also reboots randomly and boots to recovery. The frequency of the reboots on Stock TW was low but in Custom ROM it is frequent. I didn't tried flashing stock firmware yet for now because I don't have access to my PC yet.
Please can anyone help me with the problem. My phone is SM-G530H running on XCU1BPB1 Firmware.
Thanks
Just flash the stock rom using odin everything will be fine
