If anyone that has registered for the nougat beta from samsung can, please try to get a copy of the OTA before it installs, much appreciated, thanks in advance.
I truly hope somebody has gotten it. I'm so bummed I missed out on the beta but flashing it via Odin should be possible right?

No one on Verizon has gotten it yet, registration was 11/9 and Verizon roll out is 11/11, tomorrow. Sprint's roll out was today, and if you look over on Reddit, people are getting it. Those of us registered will just have to wait until tomorrow on Verizon.
I can't even register, they're not support the U version, I guess.

Oh my bad. I could've sworn I read some Verizon users getting it on reedit. I probably misread. Do you think it'll be possible for us Verizon users to flash it via Odin when somebody gets it?

As long as they upload it before installing, then yes. It will Odin the same way as the UK variant.
Did anyone get nougat?

Android 2.2 gets Flash, this is just a bugfix update.
any way to force the update instead of waiting for the phone to realize its there?

I'm just stating what was told to me by a Verizon rep when I called and activated my phone. She said she had the incredible and that is what the fix was.
What kind of bugfix? Mine works flawlessly...
Well, there is the "running services" bug. Maybe it fixed that.
It was an update for exchange servers.
If the build date of the leaks wasn't enough proof that Motorola is very busy working on Kit Kat, let this be further proof:
http://www.androidcentral.com/moto-x-get-android-44-kitkat-matter-weeks
Needless to say, I am impressed.
I hope so, im in pain seeing users here from AT&T enjoying their 4.4.
And then Verizon "tests" it for next 9 months.

I'm talking more on Motorola's end. This is quite admirable what they're doing.
Obviously, the carriers will **** around like they always do. But that's not Motorola's fault really.

I never understood why the carriers didn't have an opt-in program to get updates ASAP that essentially cut off your customer service if you opted in. Here, you can do it, but no, we won't help you. Its a flag on your account, so anywhere you go they'll see it and know not to help you. Their point is that they don't want to help people on 'untested' updates... fine then, don't help them. But this would be a HUGE PR boon for whatever carrier does it.
This is good news! Hopefully Verizon won't be too far behind. Maybe a couple weeks like the camera update.

It's basically an opt-in staged roll out. If you register, you have the ability to be the first to receive an update... so there's a sizeable pool for motorola to determine if there are any major bugs before giving it to the masses. Typically, these things happen and everyone else gets the update about a week later.

A soak test is where a group of people are chosen to do a sort of private beta test on the firmware, to make sure things don't assplode or catch fire before the software is rolled out to everyone.

You need to do it if you want to have a chance at being invited for soak.
Verizon guys are already getting soak tests and us Dev Edition owners have nothing. Weird.

It's probably because to most people updates are not something they think about. The people that unsupported updates would appeal to are probably very small and at least to the carriers probably seems more complicated to have more programs rather than less.
The other concern of theirs isn't support. It's about their network. Verizon is really strict about how their network can be used and that's a big part of the reason that ATT got the iPhone for years before verizon. They want absolute control over how the network is used probably due to a fear of a small number of devices clogging up bandwidth.
The funny thing is in spite of the rules bootloaders get unlocked. Phones get rooted. ROMs get flashed and it doesn't seem to cause many apparent problems.
Edit: and I'll just add that most carrier support is clueless anyway - most answers are
-reset your phone
-delete all of your apps.
-do something you already tried.
I hope 4.4 kit kat won't affect Moto X's good battery life.

I am S-off. Thought about converting to unlocked, just seems like a lot of stuff above my limited skills to do it. And to come back to Verizon variant I've read is a big hassle to. Trust me, I've thought about it.

I'm sure you have and of course you'd have to be comfortable with the procedure. But should you change your mind, know that the instructions around for doing so are fairly simple, and converting back to VZW is a cinch, I've done it myself and it was a two-step process (change cid back to VZW and run ruu).
Update is tomorrow boys and girls

As the phone is still locked to sprint, will the flash affect the unlocking later?

Try it...you're gonna love it. I'm locked to Sprint too but I sideloaded the Oreo beta 2 straight from N without problems.
As long as you stay with Sprint for 50 days then your phone will be unlocked no matter what version you installed.

Most likely it will be OTA but carriers more often delay updates so they can add/update their bloatware as well. You talk about weeks maybe months delay, so for me as soon as Essential releases it on the website I will sideload it... it's just me :victory::silly:

N986U1 on AT&T. No banner in members app yet...
Nothing on n9860
n986W Rogers/Canada. Assuiming I won't see it. Is there a way to flash it to another SD varient?
Samsung US employee Rydah on Twitter said "maybe later" but most likely FRIDAY before the banner/registration will be posted. He's in Pacific time, so probably based on their timezone.
They are still doing internal tests and will compile a "Z" build from it if it's stable enough for public consumption.
Just enrolled and downloading in korea.

Tmo unlocked as well and no banner.

Actually a lot of companies release stuff on Friday. That helps them avoid bad press as well as too much negative exposure and gives them time to rollback and fix if something goes wrong (They fix over the weekend coz apparently developers have no life )
