Via Odin, and did a clean wipe

happened to me with the initial clean odin flash. I did another clean flash via odin and it fixed it right up.

Recommend another clean wipe I'm a UK user and got it via ota everything is fantastic

you have to put in your G-account again, then it should work, so here for me.

[Q] Device Status Modified? No OTA or KIES update :/

Yo
So i wanted to upgrade my dads S4 to 4.4.2 over OTA, but it says that my device is changed and there are no updates available
No Root or something like that at all.
He bought (brand new) it in summer with 4.2.2 installed on it. Some weeks later 4.3 arrived and we updated it via OTA. Everything worked.
Now he is on 4.3 but it says that the device status is modified. Remember, we didnt didnt change anything which has to do with root or something like that!
I tried to update via Kies too:
i click on "firmware upgrade and initialization" kies becomes grey and stays so. reinstalling drivers still didnt help.
what to do?
Uninstall the old Kies and you need install Kies 3 for android 4.3 :highfive:
I use Kies 3 it freezes sometimes also..
aaaand
i downloaded I9505XXUFNB8_I9505OXAFNB8_DBT from sammobile and if i flash this trough odin, will it erase any data?

It won't erase any data but you won't be able to boot the phone up after flashing though. You have to wipe it. Backup first.
cheers ~

Every flash via Odin wipe data required
If everything has to be wiped, odin wont be a solution i have to usr ota/kies but both arent working
You don't need to wipe any data if you flash an official rom (no test roms) by Odin, it should look like a single .tar file that you select to PDA or equivalent to new odin

I fixed it!
An app called "Vitamio" was the issue. When booting it always FCd so i randomly deinstalled this app and rebooted - voila device status official! downloading update now
Also if this doesnt work try to boot in safe mode and or wipe cache!

Btu note 4 won't update

Hi guys my n910f freshly out of the box said there was a 80mb or so update. It downloads it fine boots to recovery and the fails to install it and says there was an error and restarts, boots to home screen. There its says send report and use kies I tried this but it also fails with unknown error.
Current firmware is N910FXXU1ANIE
Any help appreciated
Okay.... I'm obviously the only one to suffer this issue.
Do you guys think it safe to odin a firmware, i'm thinking I might have a corrupted system as neither ota or kies updates install, both download but error on install.
Thoughts please

Update is that after odin flash the phone boots to firmware update encountered a problem, please select recovery in kies.....which doesn't recognise it. Going back to samsung.

I had the same issue as you but I just flashed the latest firmware from sammobile website with odin and everything worked fine

[Q] Can I reimage my phone

My phone has gotten very slow and I have some major delays when trying to dial or open apps. I've wiped the phone to start over with no success. I think there is something corrupt that a wipe and cache wipe are not fixing. Can I use ODIN to reload the stock firmware overwriting what is there now? I don't want to root or have a modified firmware just the stock software but a new load.
You can definitely odin a stock rom file, without needing root. When all else fails Odin usually works.
you answered your own question lol

Installing latest update via Download Mode

I've read a few people saying their lag has decreased when they updated the firmware using Odin instead of through the OTA. I was hoping this will wipe my data as I want to start fresh like a clean installation of Windows.
I think I found the answer. I'm already on the latest NK4 firmware on T-Mobile so I think I can just do a hard rest in recovery mode.

BTU 7.0 back to 6.0.1 SEB

After all the hype I decided to try out the BTU nougat firmware, flashed the AP file via odin. Found out its buggy for me so I installed back stock 6.0.1 firmware for baltics, the same I had when I bought the phone. I also did wipe data. Now Galaxy Care says my device isnt compatible for it and Samsung Members app says my device isnt supported. What did I do wrong?
By the way before doing data wipe when my phone booted up after installing back to 6.0.1, it asked me for some.kind of password. I downloaded the firmware from sammobile.
Edit: maybe it was because I selected only the AP file in odin when i installed back the SEB firmware?

You need to flash all files via Odin when doing this.
AP, BL, CP and CSC!
When reverting back and forth between completly different room you need a clean and install, and will loose personal media like settings, text pictures and so on, if not backed up.....
And after the FIRMWARE has booted, you turn OFF the phone and boot into the orginal recovery again. Flash the cache/dalvik and then factory reset, restart!
So yes
Like @LyLu said, you need to flash all 4 files, not just AP.
Also, if you are asked for a password and haven't set one, the default password is default_password
Unfortunately default_password is incorrect, does not accept it.
Which password is required?
Thanks.
