I installed cm14.1 and I tried to share a photo I took with this rom, but when I try to share it, the app displays a message showing it is corrupted. I can open the image with a gallery. It happens with screenshots and downloaded images too.
As I'm new user, I can't report it in the cm14.1 post.
Send how? Using what app? I have shared many images and screenshots on cm-14.1. Just to prove that it works, here are a few images that I sent my wife on WhatsApp and telegram.
Need more information to be of any help.

Actually I have the same problem, when I take a picture, whatever the camera app (I tried Google Camera and Moto Camera) I only can see it by in build gallery. When I used Google photos, it appears in white, I can't see it and I can't make a backup on Google photos. If I try to send the photo or screenshot by the in build gallery, an error appears. I hope that you could help us.

Using WhatsApp for example, I got this. I'm able to share screenshots only using Google assistant.

Mind its a workaround and not a complete solution.
I also experienced the same yesterday when I clean flashed the latest cm14.1 build you guys shared. In fact, when I tried the very first cm14.1 build you shared it also happened so I had to restore my nandroid just like I did yesterday. Yesterday I had more troubles than before, though. Moto, Google and Snap cameras all gave me trouble when I tried to see any photos I was taking. I had to open the gallery first which force closed on me then reboot, then open again the gallery and then finally I could see the pictures I was taking with the camera for testing purposes.
I have some free time right now, I'll clean flash it again and post a couple of logs for you. I thought I was the only one with these problems because no one was reporting them in the cm14.1 thread.
Be right back with logs...
[EDIT] BTW, I just watched your YouTube video and that's definitely not happening here. Everything is working as expected on your end.

I just sent you a PM with a video and a logcat. As you can see I can't share any photo taken with the camera. I can share any other picture just fine. This is with the lastest build from https://moto.shreps.fr/?dir=Moto G4 (athene)/rom/cm-14.1 and Open GApps pico.

I was having that problem on all the Nougat Roms, but yesterday I tried the AOKP rom with this steps:
1- With TWRP wipe System, Dalvik, caché and internal storage.
2- Restore a TWRP backup from stock rom.
3- Without restart the device, I made a normal wipe with TWRP.
4- I installed the zip from AOKP.
5- Then the Gapps 7.1 arm mini.
6- Restart the device.
After the normal configuration, I realised that the problem with the photos was solved and also I was able to record videos with the in-build camera and the Google camera, i tried this method with cm 14.1 and also work.

Seems to be an issue with the filesystem then. Possibly just formatting the internal storage works too? I'll give it a try!
Edit: formatting the internal memory worked!
Maybe it's got something to do with the new TWRP. Not wiping internal memory but wiping everything else. Maybe there was a little change in the way the wiping/formatting takes place.

I guess you had cm14.1 already working so you did a backup of your internal storage and just rebooted to recovery and wiped it. Correct? I just want to make sure if I have to boot the ROM first or I can wipe the internal storage after flashing both ROM and gapps.
I had the same problem.
The solution is to delete the existing folders in the SD card and let the system create fresh folders. ?
I don't know what is the problem with using the pre-flash folders, but it doesn't load in whatsapp or anyother apps. I had to delete DCIM, Pictures folder inorder to get the camera and screenshot to work. ?

You are lucky that you can run your phone, I can't pass pin confirmation process because of (com.android.phone) crash It's obvious that we need fix.
P. S. I have talked with one of the developers, they don't have their 8800 Pro's anymore so they can't check their new builds for bugs. Geno don't have much time for this, hope that it will be fixed in near future It's sad that the best developers don't have anymore that phones for witch been working, logical that they are not interested in this device like before.

these are 5 easy steps how i got it working on my phone:
before you start backup all your data (phonebook etc) because this is a clean install and everything will be wiped!
1) go to recovery menu. do a factory reset/data wipe. goto mounts & storage and format system. wipe dalvik cache (i don't know if this is necesary).
2) install the update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-u8800pro-Geno-120202.zip from sd card. restart phone.
3) install root explorer or similar. replace phone.apk with older version (i replaced with phone.apk from 20120107-cm-7.1.0-u8800pro-Geno-en.zip). you will get an FC. reboot your phone.
4) change permissions in root explorer for the phone.apk like this: owner->read/write, group->read, other->read.
5) reboot phone and enjoy

i think you can replace the phone.apk with older version in the update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-u8800pro-Geno-120202.zip before flashing. it is much easier.

New version with fix works ok with no bugs till now Little notice that I didn't find market application on this rom so I had to install it manually.

Yeah i came from last november cyano rom and it's all perfectly functional! Only one thing, yesterday accelerometer didn't work, and photocamera too, but a simple restart and now all good!

P.S. I have installed two times this rom because first one any opening keyboard throw an exception.

This began always, using Cyanogen, and using Miui... and now I can't back to de original rom, but the factory reset don't fix the problem :S

Try without sd card, if not help try to roll-back to 512 official ROM from the pink screen and dload directory , must to work.

*with R13 certain builds of google apps will cause a no boot situation if you wipe /data and install the rom and gapps together before booting android. Setup wizard craps out and never gives you a usable system. TO FIX: wipe data and cache, install rom, then boot to android BEFORE flashing gapps. from android reboot to recovery and install gapps and you'll be golden.

- External micro SD detects in storage including size of card, freespace, etc but won't let me do anything beyond that. Titanium Backup won't detect the card at all. I can write files to it on Windows 7 but it won't let me read files from it.
- Same sound issue as on the 4.3 ROMs (up pitch audio). Tested with YouTube.
- Other stuff outside of camera and NFC seem to work just fine from testing.
Clean flash using the latest CWM for the Sero 7 Pro.

Downloading as we speak. I Don't use the camera or nfc much right now anyway so i'll give it a run. I admire all of the work that's been done with this. I wish I had the time to learn all the intricacies and inner workings to be able to contribute.
For some reason when I go to install, I get stuck in a boot loop. I'll mess with it when I get home and see. Trying to do this while at work.

I was only able to test for 5 min this morning but here's what I noticed:
1. HDMI is broken as it was in jellytime, all output is forced portrait.
2. When using the tablet in landscape the text of the icons on the home screen are cut off. Probably an alignment issue.

I did a clean install 30 minutes ago with the full Gapps package and my keyboard swipe works just fine.
Wow, this is so much better than the previous build. You deserve a beer.
I don't use NFC or camera that much. So this is almost ready as my daily driver. Could you make fixing the SD card issue your next target?

ETA: Nvm, can't figure out how to mount the sdcard to throw those zips on it. My buddy I bought this from rooted it for me so it's running CWM 6something already. Can't mount sd from recovery, can't paste files when connected normally as I get some sort of error about the device being disconnected.

I'm pretty sure the root is fine. It's windows not recognizing the device properly for some reason.
I am really liking the fact that I can run 4.4 on this tablet. One bug I have run into however is that I can't get .mp3 files to play from memory using Apollo or Google music player. When I try to play a song the system freezes.
I'm not complaining though! Just wanted to report a bug.

Hi guys, when I flashed DN3 rom, I noticed when I send a USSD request, it comes up in chineese instead of English. Please any fix for this?

TWRP Permissions fix did the trick for me. Glad I didn't wipe my data.
this didn't work with fix permission for me.
my mothers phone was really f*cked, tried restoring old backups, tried full wipe, of all kinds, "for new ROM" "factory reset" change recovery.
but allways and with new fresh ROM install after full wipe it would FC everything, the device was compleatly useless.
the only thing that worked for me was to format the data partition with TWRP
did not work on my i777. TWRP not available for this phone. No solution, yet
Systen UID inconsistent appeared on my phone a few weeks after flashing a new rom, I did fix permissions with rom toolbox because my CWM version doesn't have fix permissions. Now what happened is that this fix permission crap messed up with all the apps that I had on ext3, remounted, cleaned dalvik cache etc. nothing worked... Apps are showing as not installed, I had to clean the ext3 and start all over again installing apps.. pfff..
Inconsistent results
Weird....for me it sometimes does the trick. Other times, I need to use the fix permissions option in ROM Manager. Sometimes, neither does the trick.
It seems like timing is a thing. I have the most success with this when flashing a new ROM and logging in with my Google account, I can interrupt all of the Play Store downloads that are trying to restore, and all of the app updates that it is trying to do. From here I usually download Rom Toolbox and Rom Manager and try to fix permissions immediately.
But again, even these steps do not always work for me. Frustrating too, because now it is not working for me on a ROM that I really want to give a try. And with this error, I can not get Hangouts to work (constant FC.)

Maybe I'm a bit lucky that it worked for me all the times.
Tip: If your Recovery supports Fix Permissions try that first.

how about this, look for file /data/system/uiderrors.txt
you should be find apps that responsible for that error.
uninstall the app or manualy delete.
this on work for me.

Hey, thanks for this tip. This worked for me. I have an oppo find 7, was restoring apps using titanium backup to my device when the error started coming. I followed your suggestion, the log file (uiderrors.txt) showed instagram was the culprit. But the strange part was the instagram wasn't even installed! So I used SD Maid to find corpses on my sd and instagram showed up on corpses list. After that I just cleared the corpses and the device ran perfectly fine without any errors. Thank you so much!

Inconsistent UID with Stock Rom
Hi, I'm on stock Android 4.4.2 (GT-N7100), and I've never rooted this phone.
I'm getting the "Inconsistent System UID" error, I've done a hard reset 2 times but now, after a few days, I'm still getting the error.
The first time the phone became unusable with the message that appeared every time I touch the phone to do something; now I see the error only at reboot.
My phone is affected by SDS (sudden death syndrome), I've sent it to my carrier assistance the past year without results.
Are these two problems correlated?
How can I solve UID error?

Hi guys,
A month ago or so @sqid2 ported unofficial CyanogenMod 12.1 for moto e 3g variant otus. It was a good ROM everything was working fine. But Indian users were reporting that they are not able to connect to Google. The issue is fixed!! Here are steps how -
1. First of all download cm 12 GApps bundle rather than cm12.1
2. Now go in recovery and flash the zip u downloaded.
3. Now allow root access either by supersu or by the ROM itself.
4. Give in-built file manager root permission. No need of downloading others I felt it very powerful.
5. Now browse through root of u mobile and go here: system>etc>host
Locate this 'host' file.
Just move it in external or internal storage as a backup and delete it from system. That's it.
6. Now login using any Google app and ROM will be connected to Google.
It is so because I think the rom already contained host file and was colliding in syntax with host file in mobile itself. That's why mobile was not connecting to Google servers.
There will be few minor network errors like in speed but you are not going to notice if u are on strong network or WiFi. Rest there is no misfuntioning in system.
Google now is connecting
Playstore and services are connecting
Yes since you flashed cm12 GApps, don't forget to update all of 'em by play store.

Recent button is fixed or not by this fix....?
recent key problem is still there ...gapps fc solved..
Well I too experienced it for 1 or 2 days after flashing but it doesn't seemed an ROM error. I looked in it there is no error in ROM. It is probably an issue of cache or dalvik cache. After few days of usage it is functioning well.
I tried this method but I'm still getting the FC error. Can anybody help me with this?
I checked it first its working well but after a restart.. play services and youtube get force close but play store is working fine and the recent button also stopped working.
Anyone checked it..?
Raghav you need to do all of this in a clean install. Wipe everything cache data system dalvik cache then perform all this from beginning it will work.
And nirbhay try updating them by playstore first report if it still crashes.

I did all of the above mentioned things on my first try, installed Gapps 5.0 booted, updated everything and rebooted the phone, but FC issue was still not solved. But I'll try it again
I reflashed CM this time with 5.1 Gapps and did the mentioned way to fix the issue, though on each reboot it shows the FC message, but after that I don't see any other FC error.

Well my gapps is solved by it. But if you are still have connection problem try installing google stuff mannually.
Download play services for lollipop first then everything else. Hope it works.

Hey guys, can I get some help flashing the AICP ROM?
I am currently on Stock ROM. Can I just go into TWRP and flash ROM, Gapps, Reboot? Or do I need to do something more before that?
Attached is a screenshot of the phone's software/build.
Also, which gapps version are you guys flashing? Arm64 platform? Android 6 version? Which variant?

Image attachments on XDA have been questionable recently, using imgur or similar service and embedding the link always works though.
AICP, or any other ROM, is fairly simple to flash on the Moto X... copy the ROM and Gapps ZIP to your SD card, reboot into TWRP, BACKUP YOUR EXISTING ROM TO SD CARD, then go to Wipes-Advanced and select system, caches (both), data, and for a clean flash wipe internal storage too (if you don't have an SD card, don't wipe internal storage) and swipe to wipe, when it is completed go home and Install the ROM zip first, then the Gapps ZIP, reboot and wait... first boot can take what seems like forever, as long as it gets past the Moto M logo and doesn't loop, just let it sit and be patient.

Twrp -> Advance wipe (excluding sd card) -> Then flash the rom -> flash gapps (Arm 64 and android version 7.1.1 as per aicp latest ) its upto you which one u want to choose i prefer nano -> reboot
This is all you need to do

Actually... I would upgrade to latest stock firmware via fastboot first. Eliminate possible radio issues

It is annoying that it pulls in contacts information from anyone I've ever communicated/emailed with once I set up my Gmail account.

I had about 20GB worth of photos and videos on SD card, but I can no longer see them on the card.
And it's still showing me that there's 20GB of my 60GB card is being used, so I know they are there somewhere, but I just can't see them.
Where are they?
And NO, I did not wiped SD card during installation.
Heck, I don't even see my back up ROM in there.
