Generally it comes after flashing new ROMs. Wiping data partition is not always desirable.

WARNING :
DO NOT USE this method if you use Link2SD. It will destroy all your links.
Thanks to @qwertyass and @adamdavid72 to bringing it to my knowledge :good:
1. Install ROM Toolbox lite
2. Give it Root permission
3. Go into App Manager tab
4. Hit Menu and select "Multi-select"
5. Now select "Select All"
6. Click Menu and hit "Fix Permissions"
7. Exit the app once it has fixed all the Permissions
8. Reboot your device.
Error should have gone.
Enjoy :good:

Did you do it exactly? I have tried it many times and it always worked.
This is for those who don't have "Fix Permission" in their Recoveries like PhilZ.
any other way to solved this?

Ussd language error
Hi guys, when I flashed DN3 rom, I noticed when I send a USSD request, it comes up in chineese instead of English. Please any fix for this?
I use note 2 n7105
Currently running DN3 ROM.
TWRP Permissions fix did the trick for me. Glad I didn't wipe my data.
this didn't work with fix permission for me.
my mothers phone was really f*cked, tried restoring old backups, tried full wipe, of all kinds, "for new ROM" "factory reset" change recovery.
but allways and with new fresh ROM install after full wipe it would FC everything, the device was compleatly useless.
the only thing that worked for me was to format the data partition with TWRP
did not work on my i777. TWRP not available for this phone. No solution, yet
Systen UID inconsistent appeared on my phone a few weeks after flashing a new rom, I did fix permissions with rom toolbox because my CWM version doesn't have fix permissions. Now what happened is that this fix permission crap messed up with all the apps that I had on ext3, remounted, cleaned dalvik cache etc. nothing worked... Apps are showing as not installed, I had to clean the ext3 and start all over again installing apps.. pfff..
Inconsistent results
Weird....for me it sometimes does the trick. Other times, I need to use the fix permissions option in ROM Manager. Sometimes, neither does the trick.
It seems like timing is a thing. I have the most success with this when flashing a new ROM and logging in with my Google account, I can interrupt all of the Play Store downloads that are trying to restore, and all of the app updates that it is trying to do. From here I usually download Rom Toolbox and Rom Manager and try to fix permissions immediately.
But again, even these steps do not always work for me. Frustrating too, because now it is not working for me on a ROM that I really want to give a try. And with this error, I can not get Hangouts to work (constant FC.)
Hi,
I'm sorry if it is not working for you.
Maybe I'm a bit lucky that it worked for me all the times.
Tip: If your Recovery supports Fix Permissions try that first.
If you want me specifically to respond, then please mention me, like this @silentvisitor
Thanks and Good luck !

uninstall the app or manualy delete.

Hey, thanks for this tip. This worked for me. I have an oppo find 7, was restoring apps using titanium backup to my device when the error started coming. I followed your suggestion, the log file (uiderrors.txt) showed instagram was the culprit. But the strange part was the instagram wasn't even installed! So I used SD Maid to find corpses on my sd and instagram showed up on corpses list. After that I just cleared the corpses and the device ran perfectly fine without any errors. Thank you so much!
Thanks, it worked for my OPO CM11s.
Inconsistent UID with Stock Rom
Hi, I'm on stock Android 4.4.2 (GT-N7100), and I've never rooted this phone.
I'm getting the "Inconsistent System UID" error, I've done a hard reset 2 times but now, after a few days, I'm still getting the error.
The first time the phone became unusable with the message that appeared every time I touch the phone to do something; now I see the error only at reboot.
My phone is affected by SDS (sudden death syndrome), I've sent it to my carrier assistance the past year without results.
Are these two problems correlated?
How can I solve UID error?
Thank you
Fabrizio

i always make sure i have enough space to do an upgrade, or install a new app
however this error keeps poping up very often
another similar error is

these 2 errors are very easy to reproduce when you select the UPDATE ALL button in Market
or even when trying to upgrade or install 3 or more apps at a time
seems like whatever is the default size for the TEMP cache is too small
If any one knows which line of code we can edit to assign it more space, that should solve the problem
I've gotten this and I have hardly anything installed so it was obviously a mistake. I tried to install right after and it worked fine. There's so many random bugs on this thing. Ugh

I get this every so often on my phone as well. It's moderately annoying, but usually just trying to reinstall the app works for me.
i fixed my problem with getting unsuccessful downloads. this is what i did... open titanium backup, press backup/restore, find download manager in the list of apps and press on it, then press wipe data. and it worked
Just thinking loudly !!!
Could not your problem be related to USB ON/OFF mode? i.e. you might be trying to install an app from the market while your phone attached to your PC via USB and USB mode is ON on the phone. So, your SDCard is read only mode somehow.

Worth looking into, but it should only be an issue if he's using apps2sd (or whatever it's called in Gingerbread). Apps are installed to /data/apps unless you've pushed them to the sdcard.

this is a great idea, definitely worth giving it a shot

that's not the cause
as it works fine (install / upgrade) if i just hit retry
if the USB was mounted, it would always fail to access the internal SD, the market will always be unable to download/install

Same problem for me, I have stock 2.3.2

happened to me twice today updating my apps but when you reinstall it goes through
i only had the problem on custom ROMs
after i flashed back to stock ROM it works great
i can hit "update all" and 15+ apps are downloading/installing at the same time without problem
I continue to have these market problems with CM7 - and had exactly the same with custom roms on my Hero
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Seems to be IO related. I can reproduce by copying large files to/from /system or /sdcard
Large being defined as 25MB+
I only get this error when i try to install 2 apps at the same time. I.e. when my apps r being restored from market after factory reset. Or when an app from market is being installed and i try to install one downloaded from xda at the same time
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
I have also been getting this error on stock 2.3.3
I get this error too, and I'm not rooted. It happens when I press 'update all'. When I manually update that app after the error, it updates just fine.
It's not really annoying or anything, it just happens. But it's not related to Custom ROMs.

That's what's worked for me when I've had this issue come up on my Vibrant. I can't attest to it being an update problem with the ROM or a problem with the footprint restored when I reload my apps using Titanium, but the Wipe Data has done the job.
All else failing reinstalling the app has worked. The one time the reinstall didn't (error code message instead of insufficient storage) I had to wipe the cache for the Market (Google Play) app to get it to work.
Hi
Just wanted to share with you a little something I do that works for me.
Every time we wipe everything and flash a new ROM, the ROM flies. But a lot of us (not all of us) start noticing that after we start changing settings, installing apps, uninstalling apps, and so on, a little sluggishness can occur, as can obviously be expected. One thing I persoanlly do, is after I install all my programs back onto the phone, is go back into recovery, wipe my Dalvik and cache, (I use morfic's dalvik wiper, thanks to him for that):
https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/dalvik-wiper-1.zip?w=259589c0
and simply re-install my ROM, without a factory data reset.
I've tried just wiping the dalvik and cache and rebooting, but doesn't seem to do the same for some reason. Someone much more intelligent than I and more knowledgeable than I could provide that reason I'm sure
Just want to get some feedback if this seems to improve the usability of the ROM for other people as well after a crapload of installed apps. Post a post, let me know
Ciao!

I have read this thread in the past, however, finding a rogue app that slows phone/eats battery or managing the amount of apps Installed etc is not what I was aiming for. I found that reinstalling the ROM itself again AFTER such suggestions in your thread for example (which are great ideas, i use dropbox myself) really seems to help.

titanium backup has that option to clean the dalvik cache
no need to do any fancy stuff to clear that

true, but yet not true. it does have an option to "clean" your dalvik, but it doesnt wipe your dalvik. when you actually wipe your dalvik, the system rebuilds it fresh when you boot up. heres a screenshot of titanium backups dalvik clean, lol. you can wipe your dalvik in recovery too, but clockwork recovery doesnt wipe all the files, twrp recovery wipes the dalvik though.

The SD card junk is definitely a problem. I find that SD Maid works well if you use it properly.
I think that because as you say, there is junk left over in android after uninstalling programs , that a re-flash of the ROM helps clean some of it up while still keeping all of your apps you want untouched. Please correct me if I am wrong?

With issues like random reboots or freezes you should probably check into the kernel or rom you are using if others in those threads are having the same reboots/freezes while performing the same actions. Obviously never hurts to do the wipe though.

You are lucky that you can run your phone, I can't pass pin confirmation process because of (com.android.phone) crash It's obvious that we need fix.
P. S. I have talked with one of the developers, they don't have their 8800 Pro's anymore so they can't check their new builds for bugs. Geno don't have much time for this, hope that it will be fixed in near future It's sad that the best developers don't have anymore that phones for witch been working, logical that they are not interested in this device like before.
hi all,
these are 5 easy steps how i got it working on my phone:
before you start backup all your data (phonebook etc) because this is a clean install and everything will be wiped!
1) go to recovery menu. do a factory reset/data wipe. goto mounts & storage and format system. wipe dalvik cache (i don't know if this is necesary).
2) install the update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-u8800pro-Geno-120202.zip from sd card. restart phone.
3) install root explorer or similar. replace phone.apk with older version (i replaced with phone.apk from 20120107-cm-7.1.0-u8800pro-Geno-en.zip). you will get an FC. reboot your phone.
4) change permissions in root explorer for the phone.apk like this: owner->read/write, group->read, other->read.
5) reboot phone and enjoy
btw thanks geno!
i think you can replace the phone.apk with older version in the update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-u8800pro-Geno-120202.zip before flashing. it is much easier.
the fixed Phone.apk(you need this one better than old version)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gen...C0-u8800pro-Geno-120202-en-fixed.zip/download
my first custom ROM. it looks great!
only a very little bug that I noticed: here in Italy we don't have any 4G network (only HSDPA 3,5G), but the icon in notification area tells "4G".
Really not a real bug, anyway

Yeah i came from last november cyano rom and it's all perfectly functional! Only one thing, yesterday accelerometer didn't work, and photocamera too, but a simple restart and now all good!
Good work!
P.S. I have installed two times this rom because first one any opening keyboard throw an exception.

Hello,everyone.
I am simply sharing this with others! All the credit goes to the person who made this build!
The original thread is HERE(if you cant enter the page, turn on VPN as US,and it will work)
I reuploaded the build because one had to make several chinese accounts in order to download the rom at only 200 kb/s,which was extremely bothersome and time-consuming.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Wipe Dalvik,System,Data and Cache
2.Flash the rom(it will most likely fail)
3.Reboot the recovery
4.Flash the rom again, without previously wiping anything(wiping directly before flashing it will cause errors while installing, for unknown reasons)
5.Flash this boot.img(the stock one boots only on 1806 variant):https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911971047
6.Reboot,and let the system fully boot
7.Boot into recovery
8.Flash Gapps
9.Reboot

Nice!! Going to flash now!
EDIT: ROM works flawlessly, very snappy. I didn't flash the boot.img because my phone would go into a bootloop. ROM works fine without it at least for my device(6045O)
Thanks @The Marionette.
Where is an issue with popup dialog box: background is dark and text too, it's difficult to read.
Whe have to debloat chinese apps and install Playstore.
Installation of open-gapps 5.1.1 work but can't connect to google account.

Yeah,I do not know why Google Play Services wont work with Flyme...
As for the black dialog boxes:It is a bug in the framework, and the maker of the Flyme build for the Idol 3 said that he will fix it asap.

OK i will wait
Tried to flash the rom from external sdcard with TWRP but encountered a mount error. Any advice?
Note: appears the error doesn't affect the installation. Nevermind.

To fix google account and apps install under playstore, you have to comment line in build.prop BEFORE install gapps.
Code:
ro.build.fingerprint= blablabla
just add # at the begin like this:
Code:
#ro.build.fingerprint= blablabla
and then, install open-gapps 5.1.
it work fine for all regions
For better battery lifetime, you can take ramdisk from Flyme and Arde Dev CM zImage.

*** ONLY DO THIS FOR TESTING PURPOSE ***
Those who have got the MM update, could you please check whether uninstalling Facebook app via Titanium makes your auto rotation to stop working? Some say it doesn't, some say it does.
I took a screen record while uninstalling it, make sure you are doing the exact same steps. For the record, uninstalling ONLY the apk is enough to mess it up, I still went on and removed the other Facebook system stuffs out of frustration.
Please comment.
I always uninstall Facebook & "company" and other trash again, and never had problems with rotation on kitkat , lollipop and marshmallow.

Have you solve it?
It seems that is true, and after flashing the stock rom and uninstalling lot of bloatware (except all the facebook stuff) auto rotation works now.

Yes, by re-flashing the stock ROM[emoji23]And then not touching those Facebook related craps.
PS:
@HDxDaniel
Could you tell me whether you have uninstalled any of these apps? Because I don't use these! S Voice isn't listed as it's a system app, I don't use that either.

I uninstalled most of those apps except Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Play newsletter and maybe another app too.
I noticed one thing today, if you use an app like System App Remover, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp&hl=en
, then uninstall Facebook and other craps, then the rotation works normally. So it could be Titanium doing something crazy here, don't know!
I have the same problem (or I think so), I removed Facebook and Instagram applications with titanium backup and noticed my screen can't auto-rotate now
Anyone can upload the libgnustl_shared.so file ? I don't feel like flashing the whole system file again...
Thanks

After flashing the zip from the first post of this thread, the screen rotation is working again, seems like removing Samsung hub with titanium backup messed things
It looks like only reflashing the stock FW will help
I had the same problem tried every possible solution in this forums none worked
Maybe titanium or i flashed ios emoji for google keyboard!! But that never happened when was on Lollipop!! Now back to Odin
lol

Here you are my friend:
http://www27.zippyshare.com/v/QruHxan5/file.html
@yucelo I've already found the file in another thread, but thanks anyway
This happened to me multiple times on Lollipop.
Use a file manager with root capabilities and uninstall the .apk files manually
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA-Developers mobile app
SAR system app remover done the deal

Somebody, give this man a medal! Saved my butt reflashing ROM again. Just copy to system/lib change permission to rw-r--r-- and reboot. You think it's caused by Titanium Backup? In that case? We should notify them.
yeah..... I got this too 2 days ago.
I uninstall some bloatware, including facebook with titanium backup.
then I realize that screen rotation doent work anymore.
I check the gyro, gravity, accel sensor. all works fine, but screen rotation wont work.
So I restore my backup ROM, and everything is fine again.
and yeah.... I just tried uninstalling facebook again, but this time I use System App Remover https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp&hl=en
auto rotation is still works.
Same here... I've done some testing removing bloatware and it's Titanium Backup's fault... I had to reflash the custom rom I'm using several times to reach this conclusion...
I had the same problem, & for whatever reason that version of the file failed to work for me. I had success with this one, following the same steps. https://www.4shared.com/file/ivpHIjBNce/libgnustl_shared.html

Out of curiosity, where did you get that file from?
I've just made a flashable zip with my working libgnustl_shared.so so I can replicate the issue later on and see if this solution works for me...
I downloaded this rom, extracted the zip, & copy pasted libgnustl to system/lib & changed permissions. Hopefully the individual upload will save someone else 1.49gb
The other version of libgnustl that was posted here didn't work for me, I tried it 3-4 times. My phone is a N910T.
It was a happy accident- I was planning on following someone else's success of extracting system.img.ext4 & flashing that file with skip soft, or more likely reverting to stock before I thought 'what if...'
A big thank you to everyone who shared the info to finding a solution
