I cannot get to the menu on TIB on the phone. it doesn't show in either screen.
(can't get image attached for some reason)
But it is supposed to be in top right hand corner says Menu in overview screen, or the 3 vertical dots in other screens.
Anyone else notice this? any suggestions for a fix. I don't believe it's TiB issue cause only happens on this phone works just fine on my S6

It's like this for me as well. I used the menu button in Mipop to get to tibu's menu. I later used gravity box to map menu to a longpress of the back button. Hope this helps.

That could work, havn't used mipop at this point but this will be a good use for me thanks
Confirmed, same thing. Mapping long press recents to menu is an awesome fix, I was missing having a menu key anyway!
You can click problems in the TB screen, it will prompt you with preference option

if you have root i assume you know how to get xposed.
Once you have that, install this module and reboot, you should now have menu option in any app that doesn't show it currently.
I think, most of xposed user will install GravityBox and there is also a keymapping option and youre free, which key shall use an menue function. work fine with TB

It has a menu button it just doesn't show on this phone for some reason. I suspect DPI issue. But button remap works great since it works on any open app.

I have several apps which work fine on phone.
They also run on the tablet - BUT there is no menu icon, neither at the bottom next to the 3 standard ones, nor is there a menu icon in the upper right corner. There is no menu icon.
So I wonder if someone has a trick to send a "menu pressed" signal to the app so i can access the settings.
I know i know, tell them to update their apps, but some people have left and others will take years to fix that if ever -
So i thought perhaps there was some sort of shortcut or perhaps hack which could make a menu appear? You know like you can record keypresses on a PC and then play them back.
The soft menu button on the screen works fine for me, its the 4th icon (Series of lines, top one one is longest) - same goes for the menu button that's on the keyboard.

Yes..
It also works for me when they are there. But they are NOT THERE for the apps in question.
I think you got this backwards,
The menu button will only appear if the app has a settings menu.
Majority of the Honeycomb optimized apps do not have a menu button because there either isn't no menu for that app or they have moved the menu button to the action bar on the top right, which is the new standard
The settings button is primarily used for backwards compatibility with older apps. This is why developers are removing the menu buttonwhen they optimize their app.

As I also indicated, there is nothing "optimized" about these apps. (And these have many settings which are now unreachable)

Some apps on the phone will scale differently on a tab, if you used the menu button n your phone doesn't necessarily mean the tablet version will need a hard menu button.
As I said before, if there is no menu button the bottom nav bar, it would be on the top right corner of the action bar. Older phone apps should show up a menu button automatically anyway. The only reason if there isnt one is that the developer chose so because they added one on the action bar.

Can you give us an example?
I've yet to encounter a single application with this issue, so I'd like to take a look.

I see, in this case its the developers fault. For some reason he disabled the menu button which should be there by default.

Alright alright :/ Sorry that I am not any help but as far as I know there isn't any way to forcefully press the menu button.
The only option is to contact the dev and say the menu button is disabled.

+1 for this helpful comment. I am also looking for this as I have an Asus Eee Tranformer without the dock and cannot setup SetCPU app on my tab.
Is anyone else having an issue with CM7 where the right combination of gestures or touches while cause the menu bar to disappear? I have no idea how to reproduce it, or how to recover from it (short of a reboot) but it's happened at least 4 times i as many weeks.
Just curious if something is corrupt with my install or if it's a common issue.
If the bar is just invisible (the buttons still work, but there are no graphics), just rotate the screen and they should come back.
If you've touched the double-chevron button and the status bar went away, an app has requested fullscreen mode and the chevrons grant the request. Hit "home" to get somewhere that isn't fullscreen. You can pick an "un-hide" button and do other similar things in Settings/Tablet Tweaks, look for "Disable Fullscreen" and "Choose unhide button".
If neither of the above holds, your statusbar has crashed. There's an app that's supposed to bring it back, but that never worked properly for me. I have to reboot.
This hasn't happened to me in recent nightlies, but I'm not positive that the problem is really gone yet.

I've had the menu bar disappear while certain apps were open, preventing me from accessing the app menu and had to use the 'n' button to get out. To get around this I am using Button Savior.

That's my situation. The status bar / buttons disappear, so I hit the physical home button (the N as in Nook button), but the bar is still gone. This was happening on 7.0.3... i just installed 7.1 RC1 and haven't had it happen yet... we'll see.

Go to Settings/CyanogenMod settings/Tablet Tweaks, and check to see that you have the "Disable fullscreen" option checked. That prevents apps from overriding the status bar visibility. Additionally, you can setup an "unhide" button in case you accidentally hit the chevron or otherwise lose the Tablet Tweaks status bar.

Because you say "menu bar" and later on say you press the N button and they are still missing I believe you are talking about the ADW menu buttons (the launcher and apps buttons). If that is what you are referrinng to then you should go into ADW settings and uncheck the hidden taskbar option. By default it is checked.
can reproduce it on my EVO
I found out how to make the menu disappear, but cannot make it reappear.
I have an EVO 4G (original supersonic) and I am able to make the bottom home menu disappear using a downward swipe. I've done this accidentally quite a few times. (I'm referring to the Phone/Square/World Icons that launch the primary apps)
However, I do not know how to make it come back. I have been able to swipe randomly and get it to reappear, but I do not know what combination actually causes this.
The only way I know how to bring it back for sure, is a reboot. I wish I knew what that swipe combination was to restore the menu

By "Menu Bar", do you mean the the Dock where you can access the App Drawer?
If this is it, then you just have to swipe it up. But to just to warn you, it is "VERY HARD" to get the right swipe for it to show again. Trust me, I tried. Best solution would be to disable the "HIDE" Capability of the Dockbar by going into Settings>ADWLauncher>UI Settings Go down to Hidden Dockbar and disable Dockbar.

Not sure if this is launcher specific but I'm using Nova Prime and if you long press the menu button, then the original menu items pop up instead of recent apps. I never test with TW launcher. Discovered this later. But this way you don't have to remap with gravity box.

I'm not even sure what gravitybox even is. I tried to see if it was in the app storre. someone else in the thread recommended to do so....
FYI - the layout used in the S5 is the standard Android button layout and you will see fewer and fewer devices using a dedicated menu button, as there's no need for it in Android 4.x+

Gravity BOX is a module that is installed after you first use Xposed Installer. Google this or look it up in a search here on XDA.

What do you mean the hardware button will be safer?? With 2gb ram what s the point to check open apps? It should be used the opposite way...long press to get to task manager, normal touch to get to menu...I ll wait for the other member to show up with the solution hopefully

Well, actually there is a solution since you are rooted: install Xposed framework, then install/check Gravity Box module within the framework menu. Go into the Gravity Box and assign the buttons to your liking, restart the device and voila!

Thanks again my friend!
You are very welcome, but you could activate the menu function just holding the recent apps button for 0.3 secs without using any additional apps. Anyways, glad i could help

I have titanium backup app (latest version 7.2.2) installed but it is missing the menu on the top right. It's driving me crazy. Uninstalled and installed a few times but no go.
I'm running Oxygen Os 2.0.2 rooted and unlocked.
Any ideas?

Not sure if I conveyed clearly the issue I am having. I'm trying to get the Titanium back up menu when you open the app. It's located on the upper right next to "Batch Icon". The menu contains things such as: preferences, special back / restore etc....
I've attached a screenshot. Notice, there is no menu on the top right.
The prior poster is correct. Unfortunately if you are using the hardware buttons, you will need to setup for long press menu in your settings. There are a few apps that have this issue.
I use tibu as well and can confirm the menu is missing, but this work around does indeed work.
