Hi all, I was wondering if any of you encountered this annoying intermittent bug after the latest update (I'm running Android 6.0.1 build MMB29K.G935FXXS1BPJ1): when composing a new email or replying to using the stock Samsung "e-mail" application, if you use any hyphen or quotation marks for example ' or " before any letter, this letter will automatically be replaced by the same hyphen or quotation mark. Disabling any automatic correction or the likes doesn't change the behavior. It happens ONLY in this email client and intermittently. To avoid this you have to insert a space between the hyphen or quotation mark and the letter. For example if I were to type " it's there " I would get " it'' there " - the s would be replaced by another hyphen. This is rather a specific Samsung e-mail client related bug apparently (I don't encounter it in any other email or text app I use) so I was wondering if any of you had encountered this. Sometimes by closing all the open apps it fixes the issue, but not always - it seems to also depend on the prior received emails.

Dear All,
About 10 days ago I upgraded my TyTN to Cingular's 2.06 ROM and then updated my Radio to 1.38. Ever since I have been unable to receive the body of any e-mail message - frustrating as I have only been recently successful in getting Fonix Voice Central 3.1 running to be able to read my e-mails to me.
I run my office pop3 and Gmail on my device and both receive headers and attachments with no apparent problems.
I have tried all the various settings in Outlook - "Get full copy of messages" v "Get message headers only" with "include 999 KB of message body". I've included "recent:" in front of my user id.
I have MS Voice Command 1.6 UK ver running and have applied the various tweaks to make that work. I've also applied most of the other tweaks that have been identified in various threads to fix various other problems with this ROM. It is possible of course that I have inadvertently changed something which has had the effect of stopping me seeing the body of the messages.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? Can anyone suggest a registry setting that might be causing this? As always any help would be most gratefully received.
As found on Android Cental for those that are curious.

Can anyone confirm that the 160+ character text messages to non Verizon users now works?
Yes it does for me at least
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
did the calendar colors actually change. i cant place what is different. its a trivial change but i was curious. also hoping they would jazz it up more
the best calendar change is that the google calendar is set to default instead of the local phone one.
nice 7 and 17 are what I was looking forward to getting fixed.
This sounds bizarre because this is one of many Android devices but the only one I have this problem with... When I send an exchange email via the stock app, whenever I use an apostrophe I get random characters produced in the sent copy of the email. I don't see them when typing it, but when reading the copy after sending on the GT10, EVO, Laptop or my Blackberry I see the characters. It wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't know that anyone who gets my email sees them too. Anyone else have this issue?
And by the way the EVO and my Sammy GT7 don't do this while using the stock android email app on my exchange email.
Yeah I was getting this also, seems to happen when "auto-correction" occurs or when you backspace and replace characters, it seems to inject what almost looks like HTML language for the action performed, I've confirmed this happens when using the "stock" -English (US) Android Keyboard, however when I switched over to using the "samsung keypad" or my FlexT9 keyboard it did not experience the same behavior.
only the stock keyboard in the email app during auto-correction or manual correction appeared to experience this behavior.
I was going to look for another copy of the Android "stock" honeycomb keyboard and see if the problem continued but I haven't had a chance.
For the time being try switching over to one of the other pre-installed keyboards. [such as the Samsung one] and see if you still get strange characters in your sent mail messages.
Just noticed i have this same issue as well. Im using the stock mail app with my exchange acct but im using thumb keyboard and still get the random characters. Very embarrassing sending an email to my boss this am to see random characters included in it. I love thumb keyboard but cant have this happen! Hopefully its an issue in the mail app and Samsung addresses it.
followup
Yeah after looking into this some more I found that it appears to happen on any keyboard with auto correction, I've switch to Swype / T9 and the honeycomb stock keyboard and they all post the same results in emails that are sent.
ex. if you type the work "I'll" however you don't put the " ' " in the word auto correction may insert this character for you.
problem is when it does it places "'" instead of the auto corrected " ' "
so if you miss a ' in I'm you get I'm as a result. it really tears up the outbound emails.
for the time being I've switched to using non-auto corrective keyboards such as the Samsung stock keyboard. and this seems to prevent this condition from reoccurring.
of course this is just a work around to a much larger problem.
anyone else have any insight as to why the auto correction would place "'" in each corrected spot in the email?
Before I factory reset my phone, I thought I'd search this forum to see if my problem is a known issue but didn't get any results from my searches.
My problem:
When I reply to an email in my job's Exchange account using the native email client, I cannot add any additional recipients and the existing recipients disappear when I try. They also disappear even if I don't try to edit the existing recipients when I hit send. The end result is that the message won't go out because there are no recipients. When I start typing in the To: or CC: fields, the letters I type appear in the keyboard's suggested words list, but don't show up in the TO: or CC: fields.
Workaround:
I already recreated the account, tried different keyboards, but the only thing that seems to work is leveraging the drafts folder. After I hit reply or reply all the first thing I must do is save the message as a draft. Then, I can open it from the drafts folder where I can then send the message successfully with or without editing the recipients.
I don't recall this always being a problem. I've had the phone since day one. I first noticed the problem a few weeks before the KitKat update. I had hoped the KitKat update would have fixed it, but it did not.
Is anyone else experiencing this or know what could be causing it?
Thanks for your time
Same Issue!!
Have you figured it out yet? I'm going crazy trying to...

It turned out to be our Mobile Device Management solution at work. It was pushing down a security profile to my phone. Although the profile itself never changed, the vendor did updated the software around the time my problem started. We tried recreating the profile from scratch, suspecting it somehow became corrupted. This fixed my problem.
Is the MDM solution Airwatch? Does your email address have apostrophe in it? Thanks for responding!
Okay, I'm working (and already release in beta) a app called notify which essentially allows to forward notification and call-events to other clients (Kodi aka XBMC is the only available client right now)
The problem:
As the title says, I'm using the NotificationListenerService which is driving me absolutely nuts. The problem is best explained with a "simple" example using e.g. a mail-app as reverence:
You receive a mail (the very first notification) which triggers onNotificationPosted with a StatusBarNotification object (which has a id, timestamp etc.)
WITHTOUT removing the first notification, you receive a second mail. This causes the mail app to:
Create a group (with the first and second notification) so wearable devices can properly display all notifications in form of a stack
Create a summary notification on the phone to display "basic" information's regarding both mails
This causes the onNotificationPosted to triggered multiple times with:
The very first email (now with different id, timestamp etc.)
The second email (The only thing I'm really interested in)
The summary notification
My problem is that I have no way of telling what the actual new notification is as the id AND timestamp of the first mail changed.
There is no real need of sharing my source as it is the most basic implementation of androids NotificationListenerService anyway (like really I only implemented the onNotificationPosted and onNotificationRemoved and forward the StatusBarNotification-object to another class which sends it to all clients)
I don't even use a BroadcastReceiver to communicate with the UI thread as I don't need the UI thread
I really hope someone knows what's up with that as I spent literally month without being able to get around this :/
